Doggo Did A Bad

The north lands were not impressive so far. Was it always like this? Or was it just because of the intense summer heat this season? Regardless, it was nice to get out and explore more. Expanding his horizons...but still without a kingdom. The feline pouted, though he was still pretty young anyway. Besides, he needed followers or something, didn't he? Huffing, the young male licked his lips as he thought about it. He'd been left on his own far too early, but there was nothing he could now. His mother was gone, and the others had scattered. It was official, he hated lions and everything about them. It left him with a bitter taste in his mouth, and there wasn't much he could do to get rid of it.
Glancing around, he stared at the vast forest all around him, now free of snow. He'd stop at one large redwood, rising up to dig his claws in and scratch away the bark. Maybe he'd stick around here a bit, assuming this place held any interest.

Hmm. Well this was a curious place. Ehrgeiz wasn't really one for curiosity, not easily mesmerized by new things. However, it had been a long, long time since he'd weaved through trees, and these ones, he'd have to admit, were rather different. Maybe even a little interesting. The bark of these trees was very distinct in color, and the tree trunks themselves were massive, beyond anything he'd seen before. So, perhaps just for today, he'd look over the trees and take an appreciative notice of them. But it seemed that the giant, ancient trees would not be the most fascinating thing he'd find here today.
As he rounded a bend, he noticed the intriguing, spotted frame of an unfamiliar creature. It most certainly was not a wolf, but then, what was it? Bending his legs, Ehrgeiz crouched slightly, prowling toward the strange, spotted predator. His black-tipped tail swished as he stalked the non-wolf, his singular blue eye scanning over its lithe body with interest. Keeping silent, his paws moving carefully, he slunk around several trees, until he faced the same tree that the feline was sharpening its claws on, and he approached the cheetah from within its frontal view.
However, even as he began to close the distance between them, he would say nothing, instead merely eyeing the creature curiously, somewhat cautiously. He knew nothing about the beast and its tendencies, and he didn't want to be caught off-guard. Halting about 10 feet away from the animal, his body frozen, muscles ripping under his ivory coat, tail flicking from side to side in almost a cat-like manner.
