Anyone that would see him now would easily be able to see that the young man was nervous. The pack meeting had come to an end and even though everything had sounded so good in his head his current task was terrifying him. In fact it scared him so much that he had pushed it off instead of calling it right after the meeting it was now the day after. What was helping him conquer his fear was the fact it needed to be done, he needed to step up into his rank more. A pack was meant to be a team, to help ensure each other's survival. If the pack didn't come together to hunt there was no sure way of knowing that everyone was getting properly fed. He had wanted to get together with Nixie before taking this step, but it needed to be done and the more time he let go by the less of a chance the whole pack could survive. There was no way of knowing how the winter would be this year and they needed to be a step ahead of the game.

He took a deep breath and slowly let it out calming himself before he called a pack hunt together. It was early in the morning a perfect time to gather the pack and head to the north of the pack lands where the herd would be. Lifting his head he let out a long and loud howl to call the pack together. To get this hunt started and to bring down food for the pack. As he waited all his info and Intel ran through his head as he tried to form a successful plan to bring down some prey. He also had to think about how many would show up, if they had enough they may be able to cut two from the herd and take them down successfully, but he just had to see.

OOC: Couple things. First to clarify this is taking place after the pack meeting that is being held.
Secondly first round of posting will end on May 28th.

Submerged in the many overwhelming alpha duties, trainings and hunts for her wolves had slipped her young mind. It seemed like every day she had to prepare for a meeting, converse with the members of the pack, seek out other alphas in diplomatic meetings - the list never ended. There were always things on her mind, things to do and places to be. Sometimes she wondered if a young girl like herself, not even a full adult, was meant to be stressed like this. Either way, she just yearned for some time for herself, and her family, and Rivaxorus. That probably sounded selfish of her, but it was the truth.

What was it today? Another meeting? Another new face she had to meet? Another alpha standing by the borders? Another recruit for Myriad? No, it seemed to be something different, to her surprise. Rising to her paws and giving her green coat a shake, she emerged from her small nook tucked snugly by the roots of a willow tree. She blinked a few times to rub the sleep from her eyes before making her way over to where the call had sounded from. She was a tad curious as to why the alpha's brother was calling the pack together. A hunt? Fight training? "Hello Jackson," she greeted him politely upon her arrival. "I take that this will be Myriad's first hunt?"

Feeling like he hadn't done enough, and he'd been quarantined for too long, Xephyris heard the call for a hunt the day after the meeting and felt compelled to respond instantly. The Alpha's brother was summoning some pack members for a hunt, Myriad's first group hunt. It seemed like a good opportunity to work as a team with the others, to build strength in the way they communicated with one another. Xeph felt bad, felt like he hadn't worked hard enough, so it was important to him that he attend this hunt. So, he responded to the call as fast as he could, making his appearance quietly, observing the other two wolves that were already present. Jackson, who had called the hunt, and Zephyra, who had also responded to the call. Silently, he kept some distance, but came just close enough to make it obvious that he was here to participate.

She heard the call, but the butterfly she had found was evidently more important for a few minutes longer. Finally, when she got bored she went trotting towards where one of her pack mates had howled for the rest of them. What was it for? Who called it? It would be somewhat clear as she stepped into the scene and saw only three gathered. Her sister caught her attention more then the other two, so she walked up to her and butted her head against her sisters side as she sat down, tail wagging. "What're we doing today?" She looked up expectantly at her sister, not as an alpha, but as her beloved bigger sister.

A hunt, hm? She had never truly understood a pack hunt. Sure, they could all share in one kill she guessed, but surely everyone was able to fend for themselves. It wasn't like they had pregnant women around or elderly wolves. In fact she was pretty sure a majority of the pack was even younger than her. Even still, she would be a good sport and hurried to join in on the hunt. She wouldn't forgive herself if she didn't make a good effort and make herself a real part of this pack. She arrived and saw a few other wolves there as well, though not a large group. There was five of them including herself. That was plenty to hunt with she supposed. She settled on her haunches among the group, glancing to the green and black woman first before letting letting her gaze drift over the other wolves that sat around her. She still hadn't decided how she felt about most of the pack. She almost felt like she needed to spar each of them to size them up. After she had sparred with Rivaxorus she had felt much more at least with the thought that he was her alpha. Of course the idea of sparring with everyone in the pack was absolutely ludicrous, but it was an amusing thought to muse over.

He really hadn't expected anyone to show, or at least the male was convinced no one wouldn't. Why would they, he wasn't of any important rank so they wouldn't have to. He sighed wondering how long should he sit and wait. Although when the rustle of brush and the familiar black and green form came into view the male felt relief. Someone was going to show up and he felt somewhat important now. A bright smile spread across his features as Zeph drew closer. A polite greeting then she asked if this were to be a pack hunt. With a few wags of his tail the male nodded.

"Yes I hope that this should be the first pack hunt and I'm glad you came," he replied.

Not long after the large form of the older male known as Xeph appeared, Jackson dipping his head in a polite yet quite greeting towards the male. Soon a third form and finally a fourth making the count five wolves for a hunt. He felt nervous yet he was excited all at once. This was plenty of wolves to bring down a good meal, maybe even two. He was sure his brother would be pleased. Once all had settled he cleared his throat and looked over the group.

"I have called a gathering in hopes of getting a pack hunt together, we need to learn how to work as a team to take down a significant meal to feed the pack. Now I have been monitoring the local herd which sticks to the outskirts of our borders. Right now we have about 30 head with at least 4 or 5 different young bucks that intermingle with them. We want to aim for the weaker and the older so that the herds number remains steady," he said looking to each face with a smile.

"I have picked out one large doe in particular today who has a vary pronounced limp and has been falling further and further towards the edge of the herd, I feel it will be rather easy to cut her from the herd and take her down, maybe we could even take down two deer today... Those who are up for it fallow me," he said before getting up and leading the way to his hidden spot before the herd's current location.

As the wolves of Myriad trickled into the gathering, the queen dipped her head to each and every one of them, taking note of the attendances. Xephyris, Hera, and her sister, Nixie. No Rivaxorus or her brother, Ren. Hmm. That was odd. There were five of them, including herself and Jackson, and she supposed that was an adequate number of hunters to bring down prey. She had only hunted on her own and with Riv, so she was curious to find out how it could be done with more wolves. Surely it had to be easier, having the roles distributed across them.

"A hunt, Nix," she replied to her sister's inquiry before the Adravendi male commenced the hunt, a small smile dancing on her lips. He explained the importance of them working as a team to feed the pack. He had also been monitoring a herd just on the outskirts of Myriad's borders, where he had found a large yet injured doe to hunt down. Perhaps they would be able to hunt another deer if luck was on their side. Scarlet eyes sparkled. Well what were they waiting for? Rising to her paws, the green alphess trotted ahead of the crowd to catch up to Jackson, who would lead them to the hunting grounds. "Have you decided on the roles for this hunt, or are we going to figure it out when we get there?" she asked with a tilt of her skull.

Xephyris waited quietly for the rest of the hunting party to arrive. Zephyra's smaller yet equally colorful sister Nixie would appear, followed by the orange-marked female, who seemed to be sizing up the rest of them. He was prepared to work with these wolves together on the hunt, but his mind began to fixate on testing the orange-marked woman. Now was not the time, but the way her eyes scouted around, he could feel the challenge she sent out, and it drew him in. Perhaps after a good meal, it would be time to take her up on that challenge. After all, he'd yet to really test himself amongst his pack mates.

His attention was then relocated to the one that had called them for this hunt. Listening carefully, he was impressed by Jackson's dedication to tracking the herd and keeping tabs. His attention to detail was impeccable. If this hunt went well, which he was sure it would, Xephyris would put in a good word for the young man. Surely Riv would see that his brother deserved consideration for a higher rank in hunting. Large paws would carry him alongside the group, following the younger male to the location where they would prepare for the hunt.
