Get used to the cold

Winter had settled in, and although the cold was mild, plant life had still withered away and sent prey scurrying into their burrows. Larger grazing animals were on the move, never to be found in the same place. Esarosa had come here in the hopes of finding something easy to hunt, or a large herd to follow until the spring when prey would be abundant once more. So far, it seemed that the prairie was a great place for finding small prey, like hares and prairie dogs, even some land-dwelling birds. She would have to bring Steel here - not that there was anything wrong with the valley in the west, but with prey becoming more scarce for the season, they'd have to travel for food, or risk thinning out the prey sources in the area. Delighted with her discovery of plentiful prey, she was preparing to turn back to find Steel so she could show him this place, when she thought she scented someone else slightly familiar. She'd met this wolf before... she wasn't sure she'd remember who it was until she saw a face. Curious, she decided she might as well catch up with someone she'd met before, and she began to track down whoever it was. Perhaps he was also seeking prey, or exploring - and it wasn't long before she found the tall young man roaming the prairies, so she would approach him with a friendly wag of her tail. "Hey there!" she called out with a yip, "I think we've met before. What brings you out here?" |
