He rather liked this lake. Where he had been here recently with Karabela. After all it was near Abaven, and with that in mind he would start scavenging towards the edge of the lake. Humming to himself as he felt the wet cool water against his hot paws. It was alarming though seeing how much the water had receded from the shore. Leaving caked mud about a few feet until it reached the edge of the forest that lined the lake for a small bit.

Qualm stopped as he saw himself in the water. Brown ears finding themselves flicking towards the sounds of the birds around him. For the longest time he regarded his appearance as a curse. Since he looked so much like his father compared to his sister. Now though he had left that behind, as he breathed he lifted his head. Life was alright.

Seeing his brother had done wonders for the healer, and it left him with a gentle smile on his face. He felt... relieved. As if a cloud had been lifted off of him; a cloud of despair and fear that had been soothed by his brother's words and actions. For some reason, he'd been waiting for that: the confirmation and reassurance that he'd be forgiven. That they still loved him. Still, he'd not accompany Lark to return to Abaven; it was something he had to do on his own... though soon. He'd do it soon.

Right now, he'd enjoy the tranquility of the lake, though it was shallower than usual. It was a rather dry summer, but that was okay - mostly - for the East. If he decided to try and cultivate any herbs, though, he might have a problem trying to keep them alive. For now, though, water supplies were good.

He rounded the edge, nose to the ground, wondering if he'd find any more good catches, when he caught site of a somewhat familiar form. This was Qualm, if he recalled. He remembered helping them be born, and also tending to Qualm when he was returning to Abaven after having been attacked by a bird. It was a miracle that he somehow managed to get away before he was killed or fatally wounded; he remembered his relief in finding that all of the boy's injuries had been mostly minor, with only a few moderate to severe.

Now he was here, and an adult now, if Starling recalled properly. And... while he felt weird about approaching someone, he decided to be social anywho and approached quietly. "Qualm?" he questioned quietly.

His thoughts were tugged back when he heard someone familiar. Which was odd because Qualm didn't know many wolves - plus they were all abavens. Turning his head, he blinked - it was starling! He hadn't seen him since he saved him, and it was a miracle otherwise that he had survived. Well not without consequences, his muscles weren't as strong as they could have been. A smile appeared on his face, he'd actually be happy to see this wolf. "Starling!" the name left his voice easily. As he walked over to the other with a soft wiggle in his tail.

"Are you okay? How have you been?" the male tilted his head. Hoping that the healer was fairing well. It wasn't until he was an adult that he realized that he was so much more aware of certain things. After all, Qualm tried to be observant when it came to others emotions. He'd hate to step on any toes.
