Might have to raise my flag but lower my heart
Things had gotten quiet in Ivalice. In a good way at least. Also bad he supposed, Vereux was dead from what he head. His kids cousin so at least he had to pay his respects. There was also the fact that.... he felt a certain type of atmosphere. Most of all, he felt the need to apologize to a certain woman and explain his situation. Abelinda was gone again and he wasn't sure if it was because of sickness this time. Regardless he had a lot to talk about and as an alphess she deserved to know. He then raised his head in a call for her.... if she wished at least. Liar didn't want to bother her in grief or in her time of need.
She was a strong woman he had seen that, but his guard was down. Shivering a bit as he sighed and raised his body. Emotionally he felt naked of course. Which didn't happen often but after the scare with Vadim he needed to pay closer attention. As a father he tried to provide them with everything. He tried so hard to be a father, and parent to parent he was sure Avalon knew how it felt being been in that situation herself with her older litter. He shut his mind up, trying not to make assumptions of things he had no idea about.

Ears flicked at the sound of a howl, a familiar one at that. She wondered what Liar was calling her for, though she had a vague idea that it had to do with Abelinda...the woman had once again, disappeared. And the child too. She supposed she shouldn't be surprised, though she had put faith in the woman to keep her word. Next time, she would not be allowed to return. Assuming she chose to come back a third time. No doubt that Liar and his Brood were upset...again...but it wasn't their fault. Why the old woman had vanished this time was a mystery, but perhaps the illness had caught up to her and she simply chose to pass on in solitude. Whatever the case, Avalon no longer cared. She had given a second chance and found that it was stepped upon. And quite frankly, she was tired of this family using her. Not only did Abelinda betray her trust, but the children were becoming a problem as well. She had caught their scents going beyond the borders several times, clearly disobeying the rules. She knew they would be nearing a year soon, but until then, they were to still adhere to what was set for them.
Would liar give her some sort of excuse for that? Or did he even care? It was hard to tell what that man was thinking. He was strange, though she would put on a poker face. His lack of emotion was...disturbing to say the least, and while she didn't completely distrust him, it was hard to trust anyone who didn't show much emotion to begin with. Lifting herself, she made her way towards him. And upon finding him, she offered a nod of greeting as she waited to see what he wanted.
Liar lowered his head. "I'm sorry Avalon" he fought back tears. They weren't friends so when did he deserve to confide in her. "I'm sorry I couldn't keep abelinda here, I wanted her to stay and she just vanished again with Amara." He shook his head. "I... I was so scared when Vadim got hurt and it was because I wasn't paying attention. I was too lost in my own thoughts." he took in a sharp breath and looked at her. He put down his defenses, he didn't hide himself anymore.
"I came... to talk to you about the future of myself and my family within the pack." he sat down for a moment. "We all thought long and hard about a few things, and I decided if you would allow that I'll challenge for a pack when the time comes. I know I haven't been a big asset to Ivalice but Avalon. By the gods you offered us a home and housed us even if we have been pieces of shit. And by the time my children are a year old. I'd like them to decide if they come with me if I get my pack. A pack is a dream my family has. My son... me." he looked off to the side for a moment. "And I hate making an assumption but you are busy and going through enough shit that you don't need to be listening to my ramblings." he let his bottom lip quiver. "During the time that me and my family are here Avalon I will do everything anything I can to make it up to you. Protecting Ivalice, hunting for them - anything you need. So please... believe me on that." the man said. And he was a man of his word that was for sure.

Her brows furrowed when he first started by apologizing for not keeping Abelinda in the pack. Honestly, she didn't expect him to keep the woman here...the pack wasn't a prison, and it was Abelinda's choice after all. If she felt that she didn't want to stay even after coming back, then that was her choice. "Don't apologize for someone else's decision. She chose to leave again, and it's not your job to make her stay if she didn't want to." She would say it simply. At the mention of Vadim, she flicked her tail but said nothing. Quite frankly, she was tired of hearing apologies and excuses. Not just from this man exclusively, but from everyone. She had been too nice to begin with, and they'd chosen to use that weakness of hers. But things were going to change, because life decided it was time.
So of course, even when he went on his speech, she would say nothing until he was done. So, he wanted to challenge for a pack? She wondered why he suddenly had that ambition. But she wouldn't ask nor question it. If that's what he wanted to do then so be it. She took a deep breath when he said that he'd do anything for the pack during the remainder of his stay and that she should believe him about it. Honestly, she had believed too many times that others would keep their word, only to be let down time and time again. She no longer accepted the words of others so easily. If he wanted her to believe him, then she would after he proved it. "If that's what you wish to do then who am I to stop you? I don't expect much. So you can choose to leave now, or later. If your pups wish to leave as well, then you can all go now. Quite frankly I'm tired of them not listening to the rules, and they do not seem to have any respect for the pack." There. She said it. Part of what irked her about him and his kin, but she couldn't keep sugar coating anymore. She did have her own shit to deal with, and she wasn't going to spend her time being the only one keeping an eye out and babysitting someone else's kids all the time. She was busy, she didn't have time for that crap.
"You're right. But if there is anything I can do to repay ivalice in the future in whatever form it is. I will do so. Ramsay, Ash and Vadim already said they wanted to come but if you want confirmation you can get it from them. And that way I'll take them and be out of your hair so to speak" maybe words meant cheap to her. But Liar's expression watched her carefully. How the gods graced this woman, he didn't know what it was. Her aura just spoke out loud to him.
