[Set just a bit before the Lirim meeting and his spar]

Torin was not prone to wandering, but he had found himself needing an escape right now. He hadn't seen Faite in a few days, none of the scent trails she had left in the pack lands were fresh and he had started to feel the worry gnaw at his stomach. He wasn't running, no, he would be back in the pack lands before dark but for the time he simply needed to be away from the familiar.

So he had left early that morning, wandering according to his whim. The desert was harsh and even in this mild summer felt very unforgiving. So it was when he had found the surprisingly grassy crater he had approached with some level of relief. So it was the pale boy was lounging among the various grasses, his eyes closed and head tilted slightly towards the sun, his mind running wild with his worries and plans.

She wasn't sure where she was going, but she found that she didn't mind it. Wandering was just something she did and she did it well. In fact, judging by the fact that she hadn't seen her siblings or father in a while, that they did it quite well too. While some small part of her missed them, she mostly was content with her solitary and lackadaisical lifestyle. How could she not be? Of course company was always welcome here and there. Mostly she just missed having a presence next to her, whoever it ended up being for the day. They didn't even have to be by her side permanently. She just wanted to see new faces.

It was hot and her dark colored coat soaked up the suns rays easily and further warmed her up. Was this area always so hot or was it just one of those days? Having spent some time up north she wasn't quite sure what was normal, but she supposed she'd find out soon enough. She was going to explore and she wasn't gonna stop until she'd been everywhere.

She kept going until the scent of another caught her attention. Oh good, company! Well, almost company. Bright blue eyes scanned the area around her until her brows furrowed in confusion. She could smell the wolf, but she couldn't actually see them. Oh! Maybe they were shorter than the grass. Maybe they were shorter than her! That would be pretty awesome to find someone shorter than her for once. She padded forward a few more steps before calling out.

"Anyone there? I can smell you you know."

The yearling wasn't aware of the approach of a stranger until she spoke. His ears perked and his head shot up for a moment, his dual toned eyes scanning the sea of green around him. Then he slowly raised onto his haunches his head finally poking out above his grass. He saw her then, a rare moment of true shock painted upon his face. Torin's jaw had literally dropped and it took him a few seconds to realize it and snap it shut with an audible click.

"Here." His voice shook slightly as he announced his presence to the unknown girl. He frowned, upset by the very real change the sight of this girl had affected in him. He was still to young to understand exactly why his stomach fluttered simply looking at this stranger but he was aware that at the very least he had never seen a wolf who looked quite like her.
