Crouched down behind a concealing shrubbery, Leto squinted dubiously at the colony of rabbits currently nibbling at the clover in front of their warren. Well, she thought they were rabbits, but they certainly looked rather... different. Spikes of some horny substance like bone followed along their spines in an inch long crest from skull to pelvis. In addition to their normal rabbit-teeth, two thin fangs trailed out either side of their wiggly little bunny mouths, vaguely reminiscent of a snake's fangs. The weirdness made her wary, and she'd been hunting the area long enough that she ought to recognize any local species by now but this was clearly new, which made her even more wary.

But they still looked like delicious, nutritious, dumb little bunnies...

She blew out her lips softly in a thoughtful noise. Well, she could set up some snares, see if she caught anything, and decide later if they were worth trying to eat? Though she was in the mood for a bit of a chase and tussle too, so maybe she'd set up the snares first and then try to chase them away from the warren and down the runs to the snares...

Backing carefully out of the shrubbery, she pulled the bundle of snare-rawhides off her back and selected one. She flipped the rest of the bundle back over her shoulders, then sniffed out a rabbit run, wrapped the loose end through a slightly raised root, and started using her clumsy paws and dull claws to work the rawhide loop through the puncture she'd bitten into the rawhide near the free end to make it into a second slip loop around the root to hold it in place. The other, already looped end with the knot tied in it that would prevent the loop from loosening it once it had tightened on a rabbit, she flipped over a low sapling branch and adjusted to the correct height. The rawhide was stiff enough to remain open in a loop by itself, so with that she was done with snare number one.

Now on to the next run, and the next snare...

She'd collected Arwen, the little blue tag along Iskra found herself growing more and more fond of by the day, so now she was adventuring while she had a spare moment. This time it wasn't into the freezing snowy lands of the north so if she was followed by the little one she at least knew the pup wouldn't freeze. Yeah, she was getting pretty good at being responsible. Sort of.

Okay, so heavy emphasis on the sort of part - cause right now Iskra was eyeballing some funny looking animals and despite one part of her mind saying 'dont' Iskra was more inclined to listen tot he part that said 'do' and that was all the prompting she needed to dive out of the bushes straight into the middle of the weird looking... Rabbits? Maybe? Oh well, they were about to be long gone in a half a second cause she really scared the hell out of the little fuzz butts. As the animals went racing in every direction, Iskra sat where they'd been with a satisfied grin on her lips, quite pleased with herself. Chuckling, she sat for a moment to reply the terrified looks on the little creatures faces over in her mind a few times.

Following iskra this time wasn't quite so tedious. They were in warmer lands and definitely much better lands. If you asked Arwen that was. She trodded along happily after her guardian figure. She was becoming more and more attached to iskra who despite some of her quirks was great fun. Sure she wasn't the most responsible but that didn't mean nothing to little Arwen.

She trudged into the area watching the weird animals they stumbled upon, for a moment before iskra burst into scaring them. Arwen took the cue and ran up after one until it ran right into a little hole. Her feet skid to a stop and she stuck her pink tongue out at the thing. Then just as quickly proudly trotted back to iskra with a grin that said she was up to no good. The once shy girl was quickly becoming a terror to everything iskra was a terror to. Seeing as if iskra did it it must be okay to do.

Leto had just finished positioning the third snare when all hell broke loose back at the rabbit colony she had just left. She spun around to see rabbit-things scattering in every direction, most diving down into the warren - exactly where she didn't want them to go. And there, looking very pleased with herself, was... Iskra??

Before she could even process the fact that her sister - her OWN SISTER - had just thoroughly bollocksed up her hunt, a second, much younger wolf had rushed in at the rabbit-things and chased one straight down into the warren and further scattered those that were left.

Making a rather strangled sound of frustration, Leto raced in to try to salvage the situation, pouncing in front of the warren to cut off the few stragglers who had been too far from the burrows to make it back in time. They hissed and spat at her in a very unrabbit-like way before flailing their way back the other direction. Luckily, a couple were headed towards the runs she'd already managed to trap, though she cursed loudly and fluently to see most were scattering to traces that she hadn't gotten to yet.

Spinning, she snapped and snarled at the idiot child who was sitting there with a dumbass grin on her smug little face, and immediately turned on Iskra with fangs showing. "What'n th' fuck you think yer playing at? SOME'a us were hoping to act'ally EAT. An' who th'fuck brings a fuckin' BABY on som'uns hunt? Ahhhhgh you're so... fuckin'... infuriating!"

Pivoting again she bounded after the creatures fleeing towards the untrapped runs, though with little hope of actually catching one of them after their head start and obvious panic.

She was looking very content and wondering what to do next when little Arwen appeared and chased after on of the 'bunnies' as she must have watched Iskra do. Giggling, Iskra wondered what she was going to do with this kid! It was impossible to go anywhere without being followed nowadays. Not that she'd minded so far. It's not like she needed to do a whole lot of pup-free activities soo it wasn't really an issue to be followed. Just as long as Arwen didn't get lost or anything. That would be horrible.

She was going to ask Arwen if she wanted to go see if they could find more weird animals and chase 'em around or maybe actually hunt when who appeared but- wait, LETO was here?! Her jaw slackened slightly when her long lost sibling came racing over and snapped at Arwen, then turned to berate Iskra. Not even a hello, huh? Okay, cool, whatever. "Missed you too" she mumbled dryly, walking over to scoop up Arwen gently and pull her over for some reassuring kisses and snuggles before suddenly letting the child go and dropping into a play bow. "That's Leto, she seems a little upset for some reason, huh? I think we may have accidentally done something wrong. But, oh well, not much we can do now, right? Anyways, she's my sister. Maybe you'll meet my other sister eventually. Artemis is usually a little less grumpy I think." Iskra sighed, watching Leto run after the bunnies she probably wouldn't catch while stifling the slighted pang of... something. Hurt, was it? Maybe. After all, it had kind of been a long time since she saw her sister and Leto was obviously more interested in eating mutant bunnies.

She was proud of herself for all of a minute before someone else joined in on the fun. She was just as starry as Iskra and maybe a little pretty too. But then she was snapping at her and her face went to fear. The heck was her problem? That was rude. Then she was yelling at iskra for some reason. Well now she was less pretty in Arwen's book. Nope strike that she was ugly.

Then iskra was snuggling her and kissing on her and she swatted at her nose and muzzle before iskra released her. She looked at iskra as she play bowed. Then listened carefully. She looked back to where leto went before a glare touched her face. Then her tongue came out at her. If leto was gonna be rude she would too. Artemis sounded like she'd be just as rude or something like that. She looked back at iskra before giving her a little smirk. Then she pounced. Her teeth aimed for iskra's ear. Not like her puppy teeth were going to do damage but she was ready to just play on. After all that seemed to be what iskra was all about and she was picking up a thing or two from her. Ily was truly missing out, if she was even alive.

Behind her, Leto could hear Iskra coddling the little brat who'd helped her fuck up the perfect hunt scenario Leto had been working to set up. The dark Aeris female bristled furiously - coddling the little beast while Leto tried frantically to salvage what she could of her ambush?? - but she couldn't take her attention from the chase long enough to turn and give Iskra the tongue-lashing she so richly deserved. She was too busy trying to match the zig-zagging pattern the rabbit was running, which she knew only too well was an exercise in futility. Rabbits could manage much sharper turns than a wolf could. So it wasn't surprising when the creature managed to dive into a bramble two leaps ahead of Leto, and she had to hit the brakes hard to keep from going nose first after it. A face full of thorns, that was exactly what she would need on top of everything else.

She was just turning away from her failed chase, gritting her teeth in sour irritation, when a squeal from one of the trapped runs brightened her outlook a bit. It was the second one she'd done, and the sapling she'd draped her first snare over was dancing frantically as well though whatever was caught in it was silent. Leto stalked stiff-legged and clearly still angry over to the squealing rabbit. Careful to avoid spines and teeth both, she closed her jaws over the back of it's head and gave a vicious shake. Probably more vicious than strictly necessary in her current temper, but it served to cut off the squealing and the rabbit thing went limp. Still not speaking a word to Iskra or the brat she'd brought with her - who, Leto saw with a fresh spat of disgusted irritation, she had proceeded to start to play with instead of, oh, helping to fix the hunt she'd screwed up - she growled her way over to the second trapped rabbit and dispatched it the same way.

Only then, with both rabbits dangling by their ears from her jaws, did she stomp over to where Iskra and the pup were. She dropped the strange mutated creatures and fixed Iskra with a prickly, furious stare. "So's this wut you do now? Go 'round and fuck up peoples' hunts? Hunts that mebbe mean they can act'ally eat w'out needing some'un else t' take care of em? Y'think people can jus' live on air and sunshine like daisies or som'in? I'd bite yer goddamn ears off for it if y'weren't family."

She turned her sturdy head toward the glowy little brat who'd followed Iskra, and bared her teeth at the beast. "Who the fuck's the rodent? Get yourself knocked up already?"

Flopping onto her side, Iskra pretended to be wounded by Arwen's very fierce attack gathering the child close to her all of a sudden and blowing raspberries into her fur, then rolling away to see her sister approaching again. She was about to offer an impish grin when Leto began assaulting her ears with something about a hunt and- Ooooh. Whoops. Iskra got it now, and the impish troublemaker let her ears fall back a little as the realization hit her and the grin turned to more of a sheepish smile. "Ah, t'was an honest mistake, sister dear! Got a little carried away, that's all. I probably would never do such a thing on purpose, at least not that anyone can prove," she mumbled the last bit under her breath, unable to keep from saying it though it probably made her look less than trustworthy, "and I'm quite certain you won't starve or depend on anybody cause you lost a couple bunnies anyhow." She wouldn't be Leto if one minor inconvenience was the end of the world for her, right?

Shaking her head in mock disgust at her siblings choice of words, Iskra clicked her tongue softly, "Now, now, I only tell stories to fun people, Leto. Right, Arwen?" she asked. Holding out on sharing was becoming a favorite pastime along with chasing animals that had done nothing to deserve the harassment. Maaaybe she wasn't the best role model in the world for Arwen, but Iskra was pretty sure she wasn't the worst either. She definitely could behave much worse if she wanted to.

When iskra blew raspberries into her fur she was awarded with the silent laughter if a very ticklish pup. Her paws pressed against Iskra'ssnout as she tried to fight off the assault. Until it suddenly stopped and she lay ther panting a little. Her head turned towards the source of the ranting and she huffed a puff of air. Leto was just a big meanie. And the rant went right over Arwen's pretty little head.

She had more interesting things to do. Like find those bunnies so she could chase them even more. Though when she was called a rodent her attention snapped from looking around for the bunnies to Leto's face. A glare is what she offered. She was not a rodent. When iskra asked her something she just nodded and stuck her tongue out at Leto. Then it was off to finding more bunnies. She really didn't care if Iskra was a good or bad role , just for the fact that she wasn't alone. Once she was satisfied that there were no bunnies left to scare she was back to paying attention to what iskra did.

Leto snorted explosively at her sister's blatant attempt to tease, and rolled her blood-red eyes. "Since'm not interested in porn nor either childbirth, y'ken skip the blow by blow story, thanks so much," she snarked dryly.

The little glowy rat's glares were largely ignored, though the continued insult of the tongue sticking out at her brought a hot, threatening snarl and a snap towards the girl's face. Fucking kids. Stupid fucking kids. Ugh. "Y' don't teach your rat t'mind her manners 'round dang'rous wolves she's gonna find herself missin' body parts real fast," she growled to Iskra.

Still, with two rabbit-things safely dead at her paws Leto was beginning to lose the edge of her fury. Her anger was a wildfire, certainly, but it wasn't something that easily sustained itself for long. That violent snap at the pup banished a great deal of her disgruntlement, and a brisk shake of her dark, nebulous fur took care of much of the rest, leaving her to fix her sister with a stare with a great deal more good humor in it. "Well? Did ya seriously get dumb 'nuff to get y'self pregnant?"

Narrowing her eyes at Leto, Iskra was very tempted to keep fuckin' around for a while before relenting. She could even go so far as to irritate Leto with a fake story, but that was too much work and would probably bite her in the ass if she irritated her sister too much so she decided against it and simply ignored her darker sibling, blue eyes as she lifted her muzzle silently in a defiant fashion as though she might hold out.

Iskra would have come to Arwen's defense, but figured the kid probably did need to learn when to hold back. Silence and irritable, sassy looks from kids didn't usually go over well with most adults, Arwen needed to understand that sooner or later. She found herself grinning though as Leto spoke and quipped, "So, my sister's dangerous now?" Of course, Leto was probably a better fighter if she was still interested in that. Glancing down at Arwen, she did decide she'd have to warn the girl. "Unfortunately, Leto's not wrong Arwen. You gotta know when not to push. Having fun and causing mischief is great, but don't get yourself into situations you can't get back out of." It wasn't exactly her favorite thing to admit when her sibling had a point, but for the sake of doing her little blue charge a favor and raising her to not be an idiot Iskra figured she could stomach it.

Eyeing Leto with an air of thoughtfulness, she took a second to drag out her reply, yawning and stretching while somewhat enjoying being the center of attention for a moment. "What do you think?" she muttered, sitting up straighter and shaking her head. Yes, Arwen could feesably pass as her own, especially with the whole starry pelt thing going on. But, the physical features she posessed weren't quite ones that matched Iskra's own physique. Her face shape didn't look much like any of Iskra and Leto's family, for one. Ah well. Giving in at last, Iskra shook her head, "No, I didn't have her. I found her. And her sister, they were both lost and alone, wandering around without any adults. We lost Ily a while back... So for now I'm watching Arwen." she shrugged. How Leto would process that news was anyone's guess. Her extreme dislike of kids was quite apparent, not that Iskra could blame her entirely. Kids weren't everybody's thing and that was fine.
