Seth rarely ventured out of the canyon his family had made their base. His body simply was not built for long travel, and overexertion would be quick to settle achingly into joints twisted by the dwarfism that had stunted him. Still, there were times when he simply couldn't avoid his family any longer, and sought escape outside of their usual haunts. This journey was longer than his usual escapes, but he had recalled his discovery the previous autumn of the wonders of fermented fruit, and had made the trek to return to the grove of berries he had found then. With the dry season approaching the berries were reaching the end of their lifespans. Shortly it would be too dry for vegetation to make the growth it was able to achieve during the rains, sending much of it dormant.

He would have to make it a point to graze on as many of the berries as remained before it got hot enough they simply dried on their stems.

So it was that he had slowly gathered to him a great pile of the old, fermenting berries and had finally lowered his twisted, stunted body to the warm ground beside them and proceeded to begin ingesting them. He was getting quite relaxed as he nibbled at them, the pain of his joints dulled by the alcohol in the fermenting fruits.

FLY LIKE PAPER

ooc. is this still open? if it isn't ignore me.

Graceless bodice would slink between the trees. The delicate shadow was hungry, and she couldn't stand it any longer. Someone around here had to have food. Right? Large paws thumped against the terra, warning the nearby wildlife to her presence. Hunting was not her forte, at all. She wanted to be great at it, but her childhood had been stolen- with it, the opportunity to be taught.

Auster wasn't so bad. It wasn't home, but where was home? Whatever. No one had come looking for her, so she had decided to make the most of it. The wildberry grove attracted small animals, and usually this was where she found something. Dead, maybe dying, or something to steal from another. Narrow skull would rise above her shoulders briefly, surveying the grove. Bushes everywhere, and something moving nearby. Lowering her head again, the shadow wove between the shrubs. Now, her large paws were a little quieter. Soft thuds against the ground, hopefully going unnoticed.

It was small, and had stopped moving. The bushes thinned out here, and she could see a little through them. It didn't look right. Either it was the skinniest bear in existence, or a mutant fox. Nothing edible, that was for sure. She huffed, tail flicking in irritation. She scrutinised the beast, taking one step closer. A few cautious sniffs of the air. It was male, and smelled like a wolf. Like a lot of wolves, actually. The wisp needed a better view. She edged around, trying to stay hidden. What if he was actually a mutant? There had been some freaky creatures kicking around lately, but most had died off.
