Navigation -- Sunset Falls

There was a quiet in air that the femme didn’t particularly care for. The air felt still, and her heart was heavy. Philomena gazed up at the the sky above, a frown on her face. She still hadn’t come to terms with Ganta’s death. Some days she’d wake up and look outside her den half expecting him to be there and ready to play. Philly missed him terribly, as she was sure her mother and brother did, but she never brought up Ganta or his absence to them. It was a weight she was trying to bear on her own. But Some days it was harder than others… and with evening coming, the sun setting on the world around her, Philomena felt alone in that moment.

She was at the waterfall, her gaze shifting to the water as it fell to the base. She was sitting not far from the crashing water, hoping that it would drown out her thoughts. So far it was doing little in that regard, and Philly let out a sigh. She was sure she could still use her father’s guidance, especially in the trying to form her own pack. Would he approve? Would Ganta’s own Hellstrom blood rise, and would he even encourage her to form the Deliverance?

“It’s quiet tonight…” The femme mused, flicking her ears back. No Face was hunting, dusk one of the best times to prepare for finding his favorite prey. Perhaps if her companion was with her she wouldn’t feel so alone… but fate worked in strange ways. Maybe she wouldn’t be alone for much longer.

  • Philomena has a bat hawk companion named No Face who is generally somewhere nearby if he is mentioned at all in a thread. If not mentioned, assume he is not there!

His interest in Mount Volkan was quite obviously growing, as well as in its surrounding territories. He could smell the borders of a pack to the northeast, but it didn't seem to phase him all too much. He would need to meet them, eventually, but for now, the fiend was adamant in learning every monument in the East, if he was to reside here permanently.

He'd spent the previous night sleeping in the comfort of Singing Caverns, enjoying how every sound from the outside world echoed off it's walls. It made him feel secure, made him feel like if something where to sneak up on him.. he would hear it long before it ever made it's way up to him. The behemoth woke with the sun every morning like clockwork, something engrained into him from his upbringing.. and today he chose to follow the river that rested just outside of those caverns.

He was appreciative of the different fish he could identify inside of the river, though he was not particularly looking to start a fishing trip today- it was something he wanted to take note of if his hunting ever seemed to be less than substantial, especially during winter. He heard the sound of crashing falls long before he saw them, and when he arrived at the dramatic decline of the river, he stood over the edge of the waterfall and peered down to the pool beneath.

He noticed a girl there, almost immediately. A large girl with flowing hair that made him stare for a bit, he'd never seen a mane quite like that on a wolf. She reminded him more of an equine, and something about her seemed almost mythical. His impish ears perked atop his head, turning toward her. He wasn't sure of her age, due to her size and distance, but his interest was surely piqued. Did she belong to the pack he'd smelled the borders of to the North? What was she doing here, alone?

"Good morning," he called out to her, his voice smooth today as he was healthy and in a sound mind. "Are you with the pack to the North?" He wasn't completely oblivious to how off-putting his scarred up appearance could sometimes be, but with a woman as tall as she appeared to be- he hoped perhaps his friendly nature could be read as just that. She seemed like she could hold herself if she wanted to. Maybe not against him, but many underestimated the lone wolf's lean physique. She wouldn't be the first if she did. His ruby gaze trailed away from her for the moment as he started to look for his pathway down.

He waited for her answer, though he would not wait forever. After she did, or after a moment of silence, if she didn't, he turned away from the edge of the cliff that made up the waterfall's starting point and moved to his right. He used tree roots and large rocks to cautiously make his way down, not wanting to put his weight on any possible loose soil. The humidity in the air down here, created by the mist of the fall, made him feel almost like he was back home in the jungle of his youth. He liked it, but he only allowed himself to inspect the area for a second before his attention was back on her. "I am Elias Praetor, I'm just out here exploring. I hope I'm not interrupting."
