Ara's arrival at the borders of Lirim truly was a long time coming. She and Athena had been wandering for quite some time now - perhaps a year or two, though she couldn't be quite sure on the exact time frame - and Ara was ready to settle down more permanently. Not that wanderlust wouldn't always be part of her soul; no, she'd always been prone to wandering to some extend, but she was ready to have a place to come home to at the end of the day again. She hoped this place might be it.

Judging from the landscape, she could certainly get used to living here. She was more familiar with the lands to the east, claimed once by the Kingdom of Seracia back when she was a child, but now her eyes couldn't stop looking at the low-reaching branches of the willows in the distance. She'd always been fond of willow trees, and that was probably putting it too lightly. Maybe this was a sign that this place would work out in the end...

Ara spent a fair while paused at the borders, observing the landscape from afar. Finally, though, she decided delaying wouldn't help her any, and she tipped her head back to the sky to call for any leaders that might be lingering nearby to see if this place would be a suitable home - if they'd have her and Athena, of course.

It had been a little bit quieter now that Zuriel and her kids had left, four members of the pack had now moved on. They still had a decent amount of wolves making up the pack, but it had been to quiet for his liking. He needed ways to pull the pack closer, get them to be more social, but he wasn't sure how to go about it. Hailey and Fortune seemed to be doing well since they had returned and he was glad to hear from Zell that he would be holding training lessons soon. Winter was just around the corner and he knew attention would have to be paid more towards the members of the pack. He had no idea how rough winter may be this year, but he didn't want to loose any members over it.

The morning had been his normal routine of getting up, patrolling, doing a little hunting, and patrolling again. Making sure everything was in order and that there was no threats. Every morning was like this for him and the older male kept himself busy. He still had his ups and downs from Star being gone, but he was managing to get by and slowly get over the fact she would never come home. He still didn't know the reason and probably never will, but he couldn't dwell on that.

A howl at the borders drew his attention, dark eyes looking in that direction. He was being summoned by a voice he didn't recognize. Was it one of the other packs looking for relations? Or was it a potential new member. He smiled, either way it would be a nice twist to his day. Taking off the long legged male covered distance as fast as he could, not taking real long at all to reach the spot the call had come from. He slowed down and looked around until he spotted the women at the borders. He approached with a warm smile on his face and stopped a few feet away from her.

"Welcome to Lirim, I'm Frostbite Wreckage what can I do for you?" he asked.

All Ara wanted for the rest of her days was to occupy herself with somewhere peaceful and quiet to live. Not that she'd ever really cared much for an exciting life - she'd always been content with her simple way of living, but she now had even less tolerance for politics, and she hoped this pack had no issues with any others to speak of. The willow trees in the near distance already soothed her soul, and by the time she saw someone approaching her a gentle smile had already begun to pull at her lips before she even dipped her head to greet the stranger.

"Greetings, Frostbite. It's a pleasure to meet you." Her words were genuine, soft and full of warmth, and she offered another low dip of her muzzle before facing the slightly younger male again. "My name is Ara. I'll be honest with you - I'm looking for a pack to settle down in. I'll tell you now I'd be coming with a close friend of mind named Athena, and most likely with my son and his mate." The elder shifted her weight slightly, hoping her honesty was appreciated.

Despite her introverted nature, Ara had never been one to beat around the bush, especially when it came to her family - and Athena was as good as family now, wasn't she? She wouldn't make assumptions about what Frostbite might say, but she wanted to lay it all out now so he knew. "I'm a healer - been studying the craft since I was a child - and Athena was raised as a fighter, so I know we would be assets to your pack." She paused, thinking again for a moment before adding, "If you're open to new members, and think we might be a good fit, would you mind telling me a bit more about Lirim?" His polite, friendly approach told her quite a bit already, but she wanted to be certain this pack had ideals similar to her own before committing to anything.

Frost right away felt relaxed and calm because her personality seemed to low key. It was extremely easy to tell that there was no chance that she would be a threat. She spoke softly and warmly which was a vary nice change to others he have come across, though he had always seemed to be lucky with who he had run into. She was kind, straight to the point, and honest with him laying it all on the line for him so he knew exactly why she was here.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well Ara," he replied back with a calm smile.

It was wonderful that she was looking to join and better yet she was coming with a friend, her son, and his mate. Her honesty was greatly appreciated, because knowing there was more then one looking to join and if he had more wolves he would have to consider whether they had room or not. Though he knew they still had plenty of room within the territory. He smiled warmly at the slightly older women and nodded lightly showing her that he was listening.

"That's great to hear! It's always nice to meet with wolves that would potentially join our pack. We have plenty of room to take on more wolves," he said.

She continued on explaining her skills and her friend Athena's skills. Being a wolf close to his age he would be glad for the more experienced knowledge especially now Jewell's kids were of age to be taught. He was in need of more healers in general, with Hailey being the only one right now. Fighters, he had a few but again this Athena could bring more experience then his current fighters had. She was right, they would be good assets to the pack and he was more then willing to welcome new faces to the pack. She also wanted to know more about Lirim and he nodded to her question.

"We are a pack that values the happiness and individuality of it's members. We are more laid back and allow more freedom to move in or out of the pack territory. We are mostly about creativity, adventure, and family." he said. "I hope this answers your questions about the pack."

Frostbite seemed a kind man, at least from this initial encounter of theirs, and Ara was pleased. "Thank you," she offered gently, her ears flicking as she realized something, pausing as she got a better look at Frostbite now. "I do think you've met my friend Athena before. I happen to remember her describing to me a wolf that looked remarkably similar to you." The markings on his face were unique enough that it was unlikely she'd ran into another wolf that looked so similar to him around these parts. Her decision to approach this man, and his pack, was only solidified as a good choice at her realization that Athena had met him before.

She couldn't help but feel a slight bit of relief when he explained they had room for plenty more wolves, and her gentle smile brightened. From his explanation, Lirim sounded like a pack that fit well with her family's values - as well as Athena's, she was fairly certain. "It sounds like we'll fit in well here," she agreed gently. "I tend to keep to myself," Ara explained, hoping he would understand. "Though I should tell you I'll help anyone in need, whether packmate or stranger." Unless the individual had done something to harm someone she cared for, or someone she was loyal to, she wouldn't withhold her services no matter what. "And I will be beyond willing to teach any that need it. I can promise I won't disappoint you in Lirim." Ara spoke with a strong conviction, sure that she wouldn't let him down - she was too old now to wander too far, and she needed a place to truly consider home after so long on her own.

He tipped his head as she thanked him a kind smile still gracing his face. She went on to talk about her friend and his ears perked at the name Athena. He remembered meeting her in the territory with the strange metal objects. He nodded to quietly confirm that he was the one.

"Yes I have met her in the strange territory by the Range," he added after his nod.

She then went on saying Lirim seemed like a good fit. He was happy to hear it, more then happy to have new additions to the pack. He could understand that she tended to keep to herself. As he was growing older he was feeling the same need. Though she was more then willing to help someone and teach what she could. He felt she was truly honest and sincere. So there was no need to turn her away and he would be looking forward to Athena joining soon as well.

"Then Lirim will be glad to have you and Athena as well when she catches up." he said with a bit of a grin. "Would you like me to show you around before you settle in?"

Good, he remembered Athena. All she could see in him were fine leadership qualities, though she supposed only time would tell for sure if her instincts were right. She was counting on it. Long gone were the days of her youth, of the aimless wandering she'd spent the last few years doing - as much as she tried to fight it, Ara knew she was ready to settle down. She was nearing the last few years of her life. Though mentally she felt as young as she had ever been, physically she was beginning to feel the fatigue settle in, and her own symptoms reminded her of how quickly her parents had slowed down after the birth of her littermates and herself.

She forced a smile, not wanting her somber thoughts to get the best of her. "Thank you, Frostbite," Ara offered gently, her smile twisting into something far more genuine. "And I'd love a tour." She'd spend the next few weeks getting a feel for the territory before deciding where to start digging her den - the choice wouldn't be any easy one, not in a place this lovely. Slowly she moved to follow after Frostbite, happy to have found a new beginning.

He hoped Athena was close behind, eager to have her here as well. She seemed like an interesting character when he had first met her and both her and Ara would be wonderful teachers to Jewell's pups. Plus he was thrilled to have a more experienced healer apart of the pack, one with years of knowledge and possibly countless encounters with illness' to help them through. He looked forward to them both making Lirim their home.

He dipped his head to her as she thanked him smiling in return especially as she accepted his offer. He was more then willing to pause his duties to help her settle in, no matter what she needed. Though he knew there was some wolves that just preferred to do things on thier own, he was glad she was letting him show her around. He stood and readied to show her the way, as they were leaving the spot he allowed her to walk with him, slowing his long legged strides so it would be easy for her to walk with him.
