It was... Surprisingly beautiful in the north. He liked the cold weather, it very much suited him. The snow even helps him blend in... Sort of. Its hard to blend in when you were black and white and they - he has yet to find a place where he looked part of the background. Snow was the closest he'd ever come to finding that perfect place.

Where he was fit that near perfect place pretty well. He stood at the edge of a frozen lake... That had a forest underneath. He had cleared some snow off the ice once he realized that there was ice under each the snow, and to his shock and amazement.. There was a forest. Those rocks he saw in the snow were tree tops..and there were some trapped underneath the ice too.

He slid on the ice to crash into a treetop, sticking his muzzle in between the branches. Ooh, this is so much fun!

A multi-colored male had just left this northern pack lands to go south for some hunting away from home. He liked to leave Tortuga often, site seeing and adventuring. But he was glad to call someplace home.

The male had seen the trees that looked like bushes in the submerged woods, he had walked by multiple times but never through. So today he decided to explore them.

His paws compacted the snow, but the feel of ice under his paw pads made him stop and look. He drug his front paw against the surface, wiping away the snow from the top. He was amazed to see a solid forest underneath him. He knew the forest was submerged a long time ago, but it was by far unrealistic and something he wasn't expecting. But his thoughts were shattered when he heard the sound of a thud from in front of him.

His legs would trot across the ice, being easy on his feet and the ice being rough it wasn't too hard for him to keep his balance. When he went around the corner, he found a black and white wolf stretched across one of the treetops. He slowly walked over so he wouldn't startle the male and maybe injure himself getting up.

"Ayy stranger, you alright?"

Masqueo slithered from the treetop and stuck his muzzle somewhere else, almost yelping at how cold the branches were. Of course, the branches also had snow on them. Blinking said snow from his eyes, he sniffed long, loud, and deep - but he couldn't scent anything. It was most peculiar and it left him quite perturbed. There should be something alive, at least.

As he stepped back... Well, it was more like intense sliding. His paws had warmed the ice somewhat and so when he moved all four paws went flying and he fell with an umph. He tried to stand again, but to no avail, sliding back down to glare at the ice and let out a high pitched, aggravated whine. Carefully, he slid against the tree top, leaning against it and slowly rising, worth his paws spread and ground the ice firmly, and his tail sticking straight out. A part of classic defense maneuvers, though he wouldn't know that. He did know he was feeling quite accomplished with standing

So much so he actually noticed the stranger. Telling, he scrambled back only to slide again and faceplant the ice. He slid, fra tic, away, ears flattened and teeth bared in a warning as he managed to get to his paws as they hit a rough part of the ice. "Stay away," he hissed between his teeth, the rough edge of a growl deep in his throat.

The male would tilt his head and squint his eyes to the boy as the scene went on. He was really having a hard time keeping his balance on the ice. He continued to slide across, and just as Chrono opened his mouth to speak again and help him, he figured out how to at least stand.

But then his ocean eye struck the male, his defensive stance now being blended with his raised lip and snarl. The male would raise his brow, bringing one of his front legs to his chest and pulling back. But his other paws stayed planted. He wouldn't leave unless chased off, and this boy couldn't do so with his experience on ice. Of course, it may had done him good to try.

"Hoeee there." He would defend himself, "I ain't here to hurt you." He would sit his rump to the ice, then release his paw back to the ground. He would hope the male would lower himself as well, but there was no telling. They were complete strangers after all.
