Crucific still felt that activity was doing badly within the pack, although the few advents that he, Dayton and Sibelle had set up had certainly gone a long way to helping. There was another member who was putting effort into the pack, and as far as he could see so far it was really only Odette and Dayton who where making a difference in Solstice aside from its alphas. He had spent some time with Dayton now, in fact that was when he had asked the boy to call the hunt, but he needed to spend some more time with Odette, ensure she was settling in ok and enjoying pack life ? that was in a way a thank you to the effort she was putting into the pack with her activity and her efforts to rise up the ranks, something that she alone was striving for, and something he greatly appreciated.

He was making his way down to the lake, which was easily the nicest part of Solstice landscape, something he and a few others could agree on. As he made his way to the waters edge he would raise his head and call out to Odette, there was nothing official nor demanding in his howl, just a friendly call to chat and talk as friends not alpha and member.

Odette was starting to settle into Solstice nicely. She hadn't been as eager to leap into the ranks like she had for Valhalla. After all the effort she had made for her old pack, it had been lost when Viridiana took it from Erani. Disappointment had seeped from the female, but she had never voiced her woes to anyone from her family. Now that she was part of another pack, she wanted to make her own legacy within.
One fine morning, she was lounging in her den, eyes closed and respirations even and unlabored. She had woken up earlier than usual and began her old workout routines. The burning in her limbs had brought nostalgia, but she had worked through it all and finally collapsed after a good bath and bite to eat. However, a howl reached her ears and broke through the serenity of her morning nap. Eyes slowly opened, body rolled onto all fours, and she rose to stretch her aching frame. Without pausing to think of what Crucifix wanted, she set off in his direction.
Three minutes passed and the grand female bounded through the nearby set of forestry. Her coat gleamed, her eyes shined, and she was standing proudly with a brimming sense of confidence. Happily, she barked towards the male and began to slow her pace until she was a few feet in front of him. "Good morning, Crucifix," she greeted, permanent smile dancing across her features. "What ails you this morning?"

Odette would make an appearance in no time and again he found himself paying attention to her great size, he knew her lineage must come from some sort of warriors, with the size and muscles she packed he couldn't image in at any other way. She would give out an excited bark when she saw him and the Alpha boy would smile back at her. She would slow her pace as she came before him and he would take a seat as she did so, and Odette would greet him. ?Its good to see you Odette, and i'm glad to see your still spending a lot of time in Solstice ? a lot of our members seem to vanish for long periods of time? he would explain to her with a sheepish grin.

He would look out at the lake then after speaking, he enjoyed the serenity of it and again reminded himself how he needed to speak to the neighboring pack that joined to his on the other end of its waters. He pushed the thought away hoping he would eventually be able to get around to it as he turned his attention back to Odette. ?I was just wondering how you where settling in, i know you've been putting effort into Solstice and for that im grateful? he would continue to explain.

She had known Crucifix for about a year and had seen the potential in him from the start. Although she hadn't realized it was potential, she knew he had a good heart and it did him justice. From saving her skin one rainy evening to becoming an Alpha, Odette could say she was proud of him. He had grown so much in such a short amount of time, yet she had done the complete opposite. Now, it was her turn to take the chance she deserved and make her life worth more than it was.
Her tail happily wagged behind her as she stopped in front of him, then swept to her right as she lowered herself to her tan, gray, and black haunches. Her friend looked out to the lake and then back to her as he spoke. His concern meant a lot to the two-year-old and she responded with a warm smile upon her face. "I wouldn't want to go anywhere for too long, Cru. I think that the locations you chose for Solstice are worth the explorations."
Odette's ears perked intently when he voiced his thoughts about how she had fit in with the pack and she couldn't help but keep smiling. "You don't know how special that makes me feel, Cru. I haven't been in Solstice long, but I do like what it stands for and if I can make it better, then I won't hesitate to do so." Her fur bristled with the movements of her muscles, her perfect specimen of a bod slightly moving for a more comfortable posture. "Having you as the Alpha makes my choice that more affirmative in my mind. So far, I have been impressed with what I have seen and I hope to keep being amazed."

Crucifix had already passed on the responsibilities of fighting posts to Sibelle, who was clearly the warrior of the pair, and he fully trusted the decisions she was to make. All the same, Crucifx wanted to reward Odette for her vigilance in Solstic, and the normal way to go about that was positions within the pack. Perhaps he could talk to Sibelle, well he would not interfere with Sibelles decisions perhaps their where other positions that Odette could have, even if temporary as she worked her way up in the fighting ranks under Sibelle... it would take a little more thought before he decided anything, but that didn't mean he didn't want Odette to know her efforts where appreciated in the mean time.

Odette would begin talking again, explaining that she loved the lands Solsice boosted and that this place was home to her. The Alpha Boy would smile at that, he hadn't been sure at first but as time went on he too had grown to love these lands and was glad he had picked them when scouting for Solstice territory. ?Well i'm really glad to hear all that Odette, and hope Solstice has a lot to offer you in the future? that sounded too formal, and well he was an Alpha Odette was also a friend. ?Wanna give fishing a go with your Alpha?? he said then, his words might have been out of context but he would give a grin as he spoke them and sweep a paw towards the lake. There was bountiful of fish in the lake if one could hunt them. He wasn't exactly an expert fishermen but it might be fun to give it a try.

Odette couldn't help but smile as Crucifix confirmed his happiness for his land choices. His tail gently wagged behind her as he spoke, making Odette prouder than she had been before. He then spoke of how he hoped Solstice would provide for her future and she couldn't help but agree. She firmly nodded before saying, "I know it will, Cru. I want Solstice to be a cornerstone of my past for my future...with you and Sibelle in charge, I will be able to withstand anything."
Cru appeared to realize that he had formally spoken, so he changed his tune and offered a fishing trip. Her smile widened and she hungrily nodded. "You don't know how great that sounds right now." Her stomach had been growling, but not loud enough for anyone to notice. She rose from her haunches and began to walk towards the nearby lake. Once she felt Crucifix beside her, she started to speak. "How many different kinds of fish are there in the lake?" She hadn't been fishing in awhile, so knowing more about her prey would come in handy.

Odette was nothing but thankful for being withing Solstice and that gave him hope that Solstice could be an active ongoing pack. It would take a lot of work, especially right now when it was clearly lacking in activity. But he just needed a few dedicated wolves, to help keep activity up to call meetings and kick butts into appearing at them. Odette was a start there, his friend and his hope for Solstice right now. He had spoken his thoughts to her, and now he wanted to hang out with her a friend and in return to his fishing question she would agree.

She would question him then about the lake and his thoughts would wonder to an old fishing friend of his, he chuckled at the memory, thinking that perhaps she might know the answer. ?I honestly have no idea, i'm not much of a fishermen, but there's always a chance to learn right?? he chuckled again as the two stopped before the lake and he looked down at the surface. ?I hear a myth that our tails can look like supper to a prey, it could be a chance to lure one in, wanna test out the theory?? he asked with a chuckle.

Odette chuckled at Crucifix's thought. Tails for bait? That was a new one to her. Gargoyle's mini-me wasn't sure what to make of it, but she could always test out the theory and see if it worked or not. Her smile widened into a radiant grin as she gave a happy bark. "That sounds like fun, Cru! Let's try it out and see what happens."
She rose from the ground, stretched all four legs, then began to walk by his side towards the nearby watering hole. Curiosity was her best friend these days and she intended to use it whenever she could. The mere idea of fish swimming around her tail and biting her bait made her mouth drool with intense saliva. She wanted to eat them more than anything and she was going to do her best to achieve that goal!

Cru could only chuckle as Odette eagerly agreed to try out the bazaar tactic. He wasn't sure how it would go, certainly he hadn't given it a go before himself. All the same, he had suggested it, and it sounded like fun. If she was game to try, then he would be also. Odette would rise and he would follow her to waterhole ? it was time to give this theory a go! He planted his rump against the earth and dropped his tail into the water from the edge, having first found the deepest part he could. Twisting his body so he could look into the water with amusement he began to gently twitch his tail to and fro as he waited to see if any wolves decided to give it a go over. He watched as Odette got herself set, taking his eye of his tail for a moment. When he looked again he would see a the small, brown figure of a fish, still too far in the water to be catch-able, but it did seem enticed by his tail, swimming back and forth cautiously, or perhaps curiously as it took in the dangling dark figure of his tail. He looked to to Odette to see if she noticed, grinning as he did so ? could this crazy idea actually work?
