Bad Dream

While her frenzied state had previously been calmed, that calm was only temporary and now she was off. Trudging through deep banks of snow so high she repeatedly had to give up and rest. Screw winter. Maybe summer wasn't so bad - at least it did not hinder his movements so badly she honestly considered just laying down in the snow and not moving till spring. In fact-
No, there was something ahead. Ears stood at attention, swiveling to pick up the faint sound. Normally strange sounds in the distance were hardly enough to pique Mara's interest, but lately she'd been more than a little off. Call it heat-season induced insanity. Going from bitter and lazy to bitter and slightly more unpredictable than usual wouldn't seem too great a change to some, but to Mara and the few who'd known her it would be considered a startling shift. Sick of these inner musings, she chose to strike off in the direction of the sound.
Hopping, trudging, climbing, shuffling and crawling her way along. What a drag. She'd have been snarling irritable and carrying on over the frustration this insufferable weather brought with it if such actions would not make the journey take longer. Her struggles were eased as she came on the source of the sound. A spout of water, erupting from the ground. She could feel the heat from a distance. Best stay a comfortable distance away from the giant spout of super hot water. She didn't mind her scars, but she figured adding some burns to the mix would be a pinch uncomfortable. Settling down in the considerably more shallow snow, Mara tried to relax. She still felt... strange. It was unsettling, a feeling she wasn't exactly familiar with. The dark woman couldn't help but smirk as she wondered what manner of wolf might interrupt her day this time. One of the two she knew? Or another thorn in her side? Maybe she really was going crazy, to think of such things without running in the opposite direction.
