He had stayed his distance and had remained as quiet as he could. This pray was sharp as a tack and he wasn't about to tip them off to his presence. They were also nasty buggers that he couldn't take on alone. Sure they had little ones, but their mother would have no problem defending them. He was hidden observing the Boar rooting around in the dirt. One sow with babies, one young female, two young male, and an older male. Again he didn't want to attack one alone so he observed for a target. His eyes would go to one Boar and watch for a while then onto the next looking for any sign of sickness or weakness. All seemed perfectly find at first, until he scanned back over. His eyes zeroed in on the older male who was limping now that he was moving along. He seemed awful slow as he moved and would seem to be the perfect target for a hunt.
Now that his target was picked he quietly backed out of his spot and moved a distance away from the small group. He moved far enough where they wouldn't spook if he called out trying to round up some help in this hunt. When he felt he was far enough he tipped his head back ad howled looking for anyone nearby up for a hunt.

Returning south from his exploration of the intriguing northern lands, he found himself in a tree-filled grove when the scent of hogs had him sinking into a cautious crouch. Boar could be quite dangerous, particularly when they had squeakers with them as this sounder clearly did. He had no wish to be torn up from a lack of care. Circling wide of the sounder, he was surprised to come upon another male watching them. He did, in fact, nearly stumble over other male, but the white markings across the males back caught Mask's attention in time for him to stop. A moment of hesitation, then he crept up beside the stranger. It had been a long journey, and surely a hunt could benefit them both if the other male was as interested in the hogs as he seemed. Another pack wolf, not a loner. "Would you care for assistance in a hunt?" he asked, sotto voce.

He had been traveling from the north lands, finally leaving the place he thought would be home until the pack disbanded all too soon after his arrival. Even his brother had disappeared, and Rein was getting pretty antsy without his brother around. As a pup, he was never really without his mother or his brothers, or at least one of them. But now? Well he wasn't quite sure what to do with himself. It wasn't until he heard a howl and shortly after, found a pair of older wolves. Both were from a pack, by what he could tell so far. And slowly and hesitantly he approached. "Hey, can I join you guys?" A hopeful and determined look crossed his features, and he did hope they would let him hunt with them. Hunting by himself most of the time wasn't as fruitful. But hunting with others? He learned it brought more to the table.
