He had given young Rodgar time to settle in, time for him to get his plan straight in his head for the tests he would give the two potential hobbies. Failing at least one of the tests could be dangerous, even deadly, but they were both insistent they were ready for the rank of a full Hobby, and that in itself would be dangerous on a regular basis. Better to set them back to creance if they failed, rather than have an undertrained wolf in the rank. He made his way far out onto the ice, where anyone would be hard-pressed to find some way to overhear, then lifted his muzzle to call for Rogdar to join him there.

Finally some action. He had shirked the simple responsibility of getting to know anyone in Niente, he had been far too preoccupied exploring the ship itself to settle in too comfortably. He had seen other wolves in passing but hadn’t stopped to meet the formally or introduce himself. He had decided he would wait until he had passed whatever test the masked leader came up with and earning a reputation with him before he made himself known to the others.
He kicked out onto the ice, his large paws surprisingly nimble even on such terrain. He approached the male and slid to a stop, stopping just short of crashing into the male entirely, a confident grin splashed over his features as if he never even entertained the possibility. “Pleasant morning, isn’t it Enrico?” He greeted casually, hoping the tremor he could feel growing up his limbs didn’t show. From his neck Eura chittered excitedly, flashing a broad grin of her own at her companion's superior

Enrico blinked as the young male skidded up to him, but otherwise appeared unruffled. It would hardly be the first time youthful enthusiasm had resulted in him being bowled over, so he'd simply braced himself for an impact that, luckily, hadn't come. "Yes, it is. A good morning for your first test, I'm thinking," he observed, his eyes tracking the threatening, thunderous sky as though he were simply commenting on the weather instead of telling the boy that he was going to be tested for a full rank. It wouldn't, in fact, be a good day for anything except for hanging out in the hold of the ship with the rest of the pack - the ones that hadn't chosen to den elsewhere, anyway. Some of those might even filter in to be more social, he hoped, though he didn't hold much hope for that. He had yet to bring these typically asocial, reclusive wolves together into a more cohesive whole, but that would come with time. What was harder to see was how that sort of weather would make for a good time to take a test, but he would reveal that soon.

“Consider me at your disposal.” He said with a wide and confident grin. As far as Ruthgar could tell the day was in fact anything but lovely; the weather looked like pure shit and an icy finger of fear touched at his chest as he wondered if Enrico would make him brace the storm for his test. He found himself taking a deep breath in an attempt to steady his thundering heart, he managed to remain outwardly composed, never once letting his confidence falter. Eura on the other hand told a different story entirely. Her small black eyes glanced about wildly; first on the clouds, then on the leader, then on Rogdar, then back to Enrico and finally back to Rogdar. Her unease was clearly visible as her small hands wrung nervously at Ruthgar’s slate fur.

Rodgar may have been nervous, but Enrico was unphased by the foul weather. A faint smile may have graced his muzzle, though it would have been forgiven if someone missed it, so serene did he appear. "Good," was his simple reply to the young man's eagerness, as laconically as though anything else from Rodgar would simply have been unfathomable. "A good morning for your first test," he repeated, "and what better way to spend such a day than snuggly out of the weather in the ship, getting to know your packmates?" He inclined his head gently back towards the human vessel. "There is a yearling in Niente who goes by the name of Kestrel." He had privately come to the conclusion, having done so for some time himself and recognizing the faint traces of the small tells he too had worked so hard to eliminate when using an alias, that it wasn't her real name, but he had also decided that it didn't matter. If or when she felt the need to share her name, she would. He had no need to know and she didn't have any real reason to tell. "She is small, black with blue-gray markings and pale eyes, and might be accompanied by a snow leopard with unusually long teeth. She should be simple to find, because she will be looking for you as well. I want you to speak with her, get to know her. And I want you to find out some very specific information about her. She will be doing the same to you. Neither of you will know what the other is to look for." Quietly, he told the young man what it was he would be looking for. "And when you speak with her, you must both remember one thing. Far more important than getting this rank, remember that you will both be members of Niente, and both members of the same guild as well. You will be working alongside each other for quite some time. If you cannot get the information in a manner that will allow for the possibility to be friendly in the future, it is not worth obtaining. Just as we may someday need to get information from potential allies without harming future relations, so must you do so with Kestrel."
