Things had changed while she was gone. Packs were springing up like weeds, and others still seemed to fade away. She never really paid much attention to the packs except for their locations so she could avoid them. Recently though, she had been feeling more tired than usual. Silence and loneliness were all well and good for a time...and during that time, it was just her and Rhava. She had kept to herself for years, but now it was all about to change. Rhava had managed to convince her to check out one of the nearby packs, and that was exactly what she did. The nearest was a pack unknown to her, and she unknown to them. Nobody knew who she was. All her family was gone. Just as she expected. Not that it mattered to her because she seemed to do everything in her power to avoid them. She despised her father and hoped that he had died in a ditch somewhere, alone and suffering. She couldn't quite say the same for her siblings. She loved them, but not as much as she wished she did. At least she didn't hate them though. That was a start, right?
Stopping a few feet from the borders, she would glance at her companion for a moment. She wasn't sure why she did that...all she got was a silent, stern stare. Returning her gaze to the pack lands, she stood quietly for what felt like a long time. She hadn't been in a pack for years. She hadn't really talked to anyone during that time save for the chance encounters. All she knew now was fighting and surviving. Maybe that's why she was so tired...she was just living to survive.
Eyelids slid over her golden gaze as she almost thought about turning back and forgetting this whole thing. But something kept her rooted to that spot. It's now or never... With her eyes still closed, she raised her head and howled for someone...anyone, to find her. And hopefully they got there before her mind told her to bolt.
He had been doing a lot of work already since the pack was now a reality. He was extremely pleased to see who all had showed up to his recruitment call and he also had one solid pack to trade and exchange skills with. He was working on the two packs in the south and was surprised to see the secondary alpha of the pack in the north had appeared at his borders. Things were going much better then he could imagine. He was doing a border patrol and checking in to make sure his members were settling well. If anyone needed help he would be the first to lend a paw and help them out.
He was torn away from his duties when a call from his borders rung out. It was his first call from his borders and it had him excited like a little pup. He was still extremely tickled that his dream had become reality and he had so many plans to get going with. He made his pace quick, not wanting the other to wait to long for him to arrive. When he arrived he found a female wolf waiting for him and he smiled warmly to her.
"Good day, I'm Branch Wreckage Rom-baro or alpha of this pack. How can I help you," he greeted.
Her heart pounded against her chest. Every instinct in her telling her to turn away and continue life on her own. Just her and Rhava. That's how it had been for the last few years and that's how it should continue to be. Her paws began to turn her around, but as soon as she did turn, she was met with blazing eyes. "You can't keep running away." Rhava said sternly. Holly stared at her, part of her knew she was right. Before she could think more on it, however, someone approached. Holly turned around, golden gaze finding a large, dark male. He introduced himself as Branch Wreckage, the alpha of the pack she stood at. It took her a moment to think, taking a bit of time to respond. Did she really want to do this? She was unsure, but then again...if she didn't like it, she could leave.
"I'm Holly Adravendi...I uh...seek to join your pack." Her words weren't that confident. Empty sounding maybe. Tired even. She wasn't sure about this, but it was now or never. And she was sure that if she tried to make a run for it, Rhava would surely never let her hear the end of it, and probably give her a good smack for not at least trying.
It seemed to take her a moment, but Branch didn't rush her. He had the time to wait for her response if need be and he wasn't the type to pressure another. He was happy to see someone at Kesali borders and he had hopes that she was interested in joining, but he would in no way force her to join. She did speak and told him that she wished to join, but her tone was different. He could get the feel that she was tired, but he didn't know anything about her and wasn't sure if it was her true reason of coming here. Although he wouldn't turn her away, he had plenty of room.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Holly," he started with a more kinder smile. "Is there a specific talent or rank you seek?"
He knew he had to get that out of the way first at least. Then if she simply wished to settle in before getting to know him or the pack better he would be okay with that. There was a fresh deer his older brother had gotten this morning back in the willows and he had a temporary den for her to stay in for her to rest up.
She focused on the larger male before her, golden gaze searching his as he questioned if she had a specific rank or talent that she sought. She had to admit, she was taken surprise a bit by the question. It was such a common one, but she hadn't thought about that sort of thing in a long time. The memories flooded her mind as she thought about her puphood. As a pup, she had been incredibly interested in herbs and healing, but it was mostly to try and help her sick mother. In the end, everything she tried to learn and tried to do for her mother had been wasted, because Arian ended up succumbing to her deteriorating mental state and started a fight she knew she couldn't win.
She felt Rhava touch her leg, bringing her out of her earlier memories. Blinking it all away, she looked up at Branch again as she mulled it over. "I...think I would like to pursue a healer rank...I have...some experience with herbs, but I must admit. It's been quite a while, so I'm afraid I'm a little rusty." She took a deep breath, ears falling slightly back with uncertainty. Would he place her as a healer after she admitted she was rusty? She wouldn't mind if he did. She was hesitant about it to begin with...
