Sounds of water reverberated in the wolf's ears as they flicked in the general direction of the disturbance that made it's way towards their ears. The sweet smell of some bits of grass hit their nose, causing it to somewhat flare in mild discomfort. It was not long ago that the volcano that erupted brought it's wrath upon the world. Hantu usually kept to themselves, but, they did hope that not many had died or had gotten hurt during the large explosion. Smoke loomed over the skies, almost matching the coloration of the mysterious wolf's coat. Their shadowy eyes blinked slightly with displeasure as their frame glided across the snowy terrain.

The snow crunched underneath their body, despite being light and agile their larger body mass didn't necessarily keep their paws from being noticeable and from sinking into the bits of snow. For it wasn't long until the source of the disturbance that graced their ears was found: a waterfall. After all, these lands were foreign to them, and they would certainly be considered weird due to their appearance and voice. If someone were to find them, Hantu considered it best to keep their tune private to other's ears. They were mocked for it back home, who's to say it wouldn't happen again here?

With a small, multi-toned huff they walked over to the edge of the water below the waterfall, quenching their thirst even if only slightly before laying down to rest. Their trek upon the lands were tiresome, perhaps a small nap would be best? Their cranium found their front paws as their eyes closed, resting to regain some energy, even if only slightly.

Walking, running, resting and more walking.. It seemed to be an endless and very monotonous task but in some ways it beat having to stay in one place all of the time and following endless rules that seemed tasking to ones mind and soul. Out here where one could be alone or perhaps travel in the company of another was true freedom and there was most always peace. Sure there were benefits to being in a pack one being you'd probably eat more times than not with a large hunting parting then just one measly little wolf and the other was always having a warm nest to curl up in. But the one seemed to always out weigh the other and there was no question in the yearlings mind.

He was happy.
He was content and most of all....
he was free! Free to do what he wanted, free to be himself and free to go where he wanted with only himself to look out for. There was little to no confrontation as he seemed to always avoid areas that had other wolves in it and kept to himself, preferring the quiet to the noisiness of a pack life.

Kraken had been on his own for several months now. He had parted from the little friend he had made by the water and had set out to journey on his own and jumped from place to place find interest in each territory he visited and luck being on his side he seed to avoid stepping into pack lands.

The young male padded in silence, his ears erect and listening for noises. His body had changed, muscles had taken place where puppy fat had been and his fur held a different feel. His eyes were sharper and more keen. The puppiness had left his face leaving it with a broader shape to his jaw and a sharper point to his nose. The only thing that seemed to be the same were his large paws, paws that promised he would be a good sized wolf by the time he was done growing. As he padded through the wooded area his nose twitched taking in the scents around him. He could scent many things, the smell of the recent volcano explosion - a smell that seemed to not want to go away. The burnt smell was almost nauseating but held an underlining that was sweet to ones nose. As he moved through the unknown land the sound of water hit his ears, twitching them forwards in interest and excitement the young wolf dashed off in the direction the noise was coming from. Breaking through some undergrowth the male stopped short when he caught sight of the waterfall.

Blue eyes widened in awe when the scene greeted them. Beauty, peacefulness and much more was pouring from the waterfall and seemed to pull him in. Moving slowly the male's nose twitched with excitement at the smells of fresh water only to make him stop abruptly when the smell of another wolf hit his scent glands.

Hantu was certainly not expecting another wolf to make their abrupt appearance. The voice still seemed young and inexperienced within their life. Their eyes opened slightly, a little bit of exhaustion still noticeable upon their features before turning their cranium to notice the yearling off in the distance. Their ebony orbs almost appearing as soulless, non-existent, but they were there and useful just like any other. One would just have to look much more closely, especially with the darkness of the clouds and ash that hung around them.

Should they speak to the young wolf, or keep their silence? One thing was for certain, some young ones couldn't hold their tongue when something was unnatural about their surroundings, and this was no acception.

"Salutations," the wolf's voice rung out, it's weird mixture of tones reverberated throughout the world around them, there expression was that of disdain and unease. They might be assumed rude, but it was only in their nature after their situation at their old home. "This one is new, what is it that they call you?" Hantu asked with the slight tilt of their head in curiosity.

Caution, something that was foreign to the usually bold yearling, filled the young wolf when the other wolf moved. There was something strange about this wolf but Kraken couldn't put a paw on it, no he was unsure and weary of this wolf. Glancing to the waterfall, his shoulders slumped he would have to leave this peaceful place. Flattening his ears he looked back to the other wolf silence reigning over him, holding him captive. Watching the wolf he studied them carefully and thoughtfully.

He would have to be careful with what he said, he was sure that this wolf had been teased for he himself knew all to well that if you were different you were likely to be taunted and pushed away. Bullied and hated. No, he would not dare say one mean word to this wolf... At least consciously as for his other half he was not sure. Praying that that side of him would stay hidden, keep quiet and not rear it's ugly head the male finally broke the silence that had seemed to last forever..

"Kraken." he answered. "But no one calls me anything as there is no one to speak my name." he said with a shrug of his large shoulders. "Who are you?" he asked curiously, his eyes sweeping over the other.
