The young man had caught wind of the battlefield from a passing stranger. Not one to pass up an opportunity on training, especially with the lack of a mentor, he was eager to stretch his muscles and learn something new. He had yet to adorn himself with the red war paint that the older Spartans possessed, but he was determined to earn them as soon as possible. For now he would be content to paint himself red with the blood of an opponent. He stalked across the battlefield in search of the perfect spot. With all the snow it would be slippery and offer a challenge, but he still chose a spot that was relatively flat and clear. The snow only brushed his toes here and for that he was grateful. He would be glad once the white annoyance was melted and gone from his life. He sat, with his back to the steadily rising sun, and let out a call for an opponent. Hopefully this fight wouldn't be with a wolf younger than him. He wanted an opponent he didn't feel like he was going to beat too easily. Walk, "Talk" Think

Having put Lukina down for a nap with a dose of valerian and making sure the girls companion was going to keep an eye on her, Rœkia set off into the battlefield for her own chance at a spar. She'd been working the little pup hard and was eager to get in her own practice. She was rusty and still recovering from older injuries that occurred during the coup. A call rang out for an opponent and she headed toward the source, finding a yearling male with horns. He looked strong and capable. "I'll take you on. The first move is yours." She squared off against him and swiftly set her defenses, making sure to pin her ears and tuck her tail.

Rhaegath shifted his weight back and forth on his paws as he loosened up his muscles eagerly. It didn't take long for another wolf to appear and he halted his movements as he studied the slightly shorter woman. Definitely older than him by a couple years and she didn't waste time with small talk. He shrugged his shoulders as she allowed him the first move. He was fine not being a gentleman about this. He lowered his head with his hackles raised and tightened his legs muscles as he prepared himself. He wasted no time in springing forward, his jaws opening wide, as he aimed to close the distance between them. He pointed his horns towards her to try and catch his left one on the front of her left shoulder. The move was to be a distraction as he found most wolves didn't prefer to be impaled by his horns. Simultaneously he raised his left leg to stomp down on her left toes and hopefully pin her leg into place as his jaws aimed to sink into her left leg above her wrist. Excitement shivered down her spine as she looked forward to the battle. It really had been far to long. The man squared off against her with a shrug. Hm, strong silent type? She could work with that. He sprang toward her with his horns lowered. As he charged for her left she slipped quickly to her right as she launched herself forward. The move managed to help her avoid his horns and leg stomp but his fangs cut into the flesh just above her left wrist. She pushed on, her jaws flying open as she attempted to seize the front of his left thigh in her jaws while at the same time throwing her chest into his left knee, seeking to jar the joint from the blow.

She easily moved out of his way avoiding all but one of his attacks, but he supposed he'd take what he could get. She pushed past him and he eyed her as she aimed for his left thigh. Not one to shy away from pain he didn't bother to try and avoid her teeth as they sank into their intended target. He loosened the muscles in his left hindleg as he shifted more of his weight to his other three legs. So when her chest crashed into his knee he let out a sharp hiss of pain, but it wasn't nearly as painful than if he would have kept his muscles taut. Using their close proximity to his advantage, he turned his head so the butt of his horns were faced towards her and attempted to ram his head into her side. At the same time he lifted his front left leg and tried to wrap his paw around her hind left leg around her hock. His intent was to pull her leg towards him and the head butt would throw her off balance. Rœkia slammed into the man's thigh, her teeth gaining purchase as her chest collided with his leg. A thrill shot through her at the scored hit but she only had a few moment's to celebrate before one of Rhaegath's paws wrapped behind her left hind leg and the broad front of his horned head rammed into her side. The blow and sudden pain in her left hip caused her to slip, her hindquarters hitting the earth. She attempted to cling stubbornly to the man's thigh, seeking to keep her upper body upright while letting her hind quarters fall. She swiftly kicked her hind legs out toward his nearest front leg. Hoping to knock him off his paws as well.
