Raijin had some energy to burn, something that was a rarity with 5 rambunctious pups to look after. But their older siblings had taken them out on an excursion and Sedna was busy, so he decided a few good spars would be just the thing. He felt as though he’d gotten a little round around the middle since becoming a father, and he needed to limber up and slim down. So, the koi man had wandered to the tatami mats. Raising his head, he called out for one of Tojo-kai’s members to join him for a friendly spar if they so chose to.

"Speech"

"Good day, sir" Sayuri would answer, finding herself needing something to wake herself up. She approached the larger wolf in a friendly but bold move, a smile tugging at her lips "you require a partner?" she asked, tipping her head to the side as she regards him. Another wolf that belonged to Hanzo Hattori's blood? She did catch a whiff of him on this man.

Not that it mattered much. A packmate was a packmate. "I am Chiba Sayuri" she dipped her head politely "I would be honored to spar against you, sir." Akira was not behind her these days, the raccoon dog chittering a greeting of his own as he took a spot to the left of his lady. "Lady Sayuri wishes to be a better fighter, it would please her to learn all she can against such a formidable-looking one!" he chittered, sitting up and alert.

Just in case he was needed. "Akira-sama will be joining the fight, if that pleases you" she added, to the dog's delight and nervousness. He shot the wolf a bow of respect "you may go first."

"Speech"

The one to answer was a very small and very slight woman who, admittedly, was gorgeous. Her patterns indicated a koi heritage, but her coloring was uniquely her. It reminded him of cherry blossoms, like they’d fallen from a tree and impressed themselves upon her fur. He looked in appreciation. The concept was a bit odd to him still, that he was allowed to love and admire more than one partner, but once Sedna had described her lifestyle to him it had just felt…right. Perhaps some would say it was his trauma, but Raijin knew it was just him. An option had been presented to him that he hadn’t even known was an option, and he’d taken it happily. He truly did love Sedna, but love wasn’t fickle and finite. It demanded to be felt and by whoever toward whoever.

She asked if he wanted a partner, her voice as pretty as the rest of her and her words in his native tongue, and he allowed a charming grin to settle on his features. “Yes ma’am I am. Thank you for answering my call,” he responded, just as cordial as she was. It had been a while since he’d used his diplomatic tone, but it was tinged with flirtation.

She introduced herself as Chiba Sayuri and he nodded in recognition. His golden gaze turned to her racoon dog companion who spoke, bright eyed and bushy tailed and full of compliments. Raijin chuckled heartily, attention turning back to the woman. “Formidable? Me? Oh I assure you I’m just a big, cuddly teddy bear,” he jibbed. “My name is Genji Raijin, it’s a pleasure to meet you Miss. Sayuri, as well as your companion. You’re more than welcome to use him, as long as you don’t mind me using mine. This is my fox companion, Ari, and my owl companion, Deisuke,” the man introduced with a formal bow of his own head and a nod toward his companions.

The cherry blossom covered woman implored him to start, so he turned and made his way to the opposite side of the tatami mat, turning and settling into a fighting position. “Ready, Sayuri?” he asked. Once he received confirmation, the man rushed forward along with his companions, Deisuke obviously from the air, as he intended to ram the smaller woman.

"Ma'am?!" she giggled, mockingly showing insult "I am still quite spry, sir!" A 'lady' would be easily more welcomed, even if she was jesting and joking with him "I am no old crone, and I shall prove it to you!" Akira remained stone-faced and polite, shifting between the two wolves as if he expected a fight to break out that wasn't friendly.

She smirked. "Cuddly? I shall take you up on offer one day" she teased, reminded of Kuroo-sama as she did. Unaware they were related, not knowing his father's name... Well, this was merely harmless fun. If Raijin was going to be coy, she was going to flirt. Not many Tojo-kai wolves were without a stick up their arse! It was, as said, harmless "I accept terms, by the by. Akira has much to learn as well as this one." Watching Raijin take his stance, she pulled her sheathed blade out.

Due to him being a packmate, she would not pull her blade out of its sheath. She refused to touch another Tojo-kai wolf in a less than friendly manner. She nodded to begin, and he rushed her. Akira jumped on her back, protecting her from the flying owl potentially. She focused on Raijin fully, tucking her neck against her chest to protect herself and making sure she had a balanced stance. As he neared, she rushed back. Her aim to use the sheathed blade as a ram of sort to block his attack.

Sayuri returned his flirtation with some of her own, his grin getting even wider. There were certainly some fun wolves in Tojo, namely his partner and Kuroo, but the rest of the adults just felt…stuffy. Not that he wasn’t used to it. Rubbing elbows with powerful wolves meant coming into contact with lots of stuffy highborns, so when he came across someone willing to banter with him it was like a nice, refreshing breeze. “You’re welcome to my hut anytime, young miss. I’ll put some tea on,” he said with a wink of his jovial golden gaze.

Then, she was settling into her stance and he was off. As he rushed her, he noted her pulling out what looked to be a large hairpin. But, looking at the pointy end he could see that it was sheathed. A small, hidden dagger it seemed. She rushed him back, showing him that she had certainly been trained in similar tactics to the rest of the Iga koi wolves. He wondered if she was from Iga, or from one of the surrounding villages. But there was no time to ponder. She held out her dagger in defense and, raising his paw, he slashed out at it, intended to knock it out of her grasp. But as he went to do so, his reinforced tiger claws caught on the sheath, pulling it from the pin and causing him to slice his leg as he followed through with the attack. He winced, but continued to follow through with his shoulder, aiming to drive it into her chest and shove her to the ground so he could pin her.

Banter aside, the fight had begun. Raijin provided to be upfront and aggressive with his attack. He clipped the sheathed blade, drawing it out of hiding with his claws. The dagger slashed him, but he persisted. Sayuri had not wished for the blade to be drawn but there was little to be done about it now. She knew how to hold herself back from a killing blow.

Akira, meanwhile, watched the skies for the owl companion. He let out a startled gasp as Raijin's shoulder barreled into Sayuri. She stumbled back, but refused to give up so easily. Momentarily winded, she hissed through the blade's handle and lunged back. She aimed a frontal slice across his chest, a bit on the lower side due to height differences.

She wished to deal some damage, but not enough to scar or hinder him further.

His attack hit home, but Sayuri handled it like a pro. Managing to stay on her feet, she was quick to dash back at him, dagger in her jaws and ready to inflict damage. He hadn’t anticipated her actually trying to draw blood, especially not in a spar against a packmate, but to her credit she had started out with her blade sheathed. She was doing what she could in the situation, and he had to admire her for it.

Raijin barely managed to dodge her blow to his chest as he threw himself to the side. She did manage a small cut on his chest in addition to the slice on his wrist. “I concede,” he said, a bit breathless, but with a grin nonetheless. “There’s no doubt you’re a koi, no one fights like that but us. All guts, all glory,” the man said appraisingly, lifting his leg to lick at his wound.

He threw himself out of the way, but before she could advance he conceded. Sayuri stopped. She was by no means able to attack someone who admitted defeat. It was not in her nature. "I am honored" she began, bowing her head "to have fought such an experienced foe." Politeness and courteousness aside, she felt humbled that she had been able to win against him. Akira jumped from her back, also adding a polite bow.

"Please, allow my lady to tend to your wounds, sir!" the raccoon dog proclaims.

Sayuri nodded. "I have skill in healing arts. I may stop blood." She collected her belongings slowly, placing them to the side and dragging out a leather satchel. She reveals the bundle of herbs she had collected, along with clean bandages and other such healing items. She would pat the ground gently for Raijin to join her, allowing herself to see just how badly his wounds were by moving to her side.
