Colorless eyes reflected within the depths of the darkness that surrounded her. Sightless apparent eyes gazing through the foliage, the heat of the night upon her pelt. She was tired, her trek through the forest to find a place of safety weighed upon her. She knew not where she was, but knew that soon she should find a place to sleep. She felt more comfortable in the dark then she did in the day time, less prone to the dangers that lurked about...at least she felt that way. When she walked in the day, trouble seemed to find her. However, it was not the case when she walked the night. She was fearless in the dark, learned that she could find safety hidden within the shadows. She could stalk others unseen, and avoid the dangers of prying eyes when she took to the shadows.
It was here in this place, that she would rest. Head drifted upwards as she gazed at the caverns before her. And without hesitation she would enter, paws kissing the warm earth beneath her feet. Heated by the air of summer, and yet she was mildly bewildered by the fact. She didn't know the things that summer did, nor did she know it was no longer spring. All she knew was that things had gotten hotter, stickier, water became scarce...which was why she chose even more so to walk within the dark. It was then she could hear the steady dripping of a water source within the caverns, and she'd move ahead into the warm darkness in search of the source. Soon she found it, a steady collection of clear liquid had pooled itself within a shallow dip upon the ground. Wondering if the water was as warm as the rock around it, she dipped her head down to taste it. A small smiled spread as she lapped it up, the cool liquid sliding over her tongue. Luckily, the water was nice and cold. A great contrast to the warm rocks all around her.
Emer had taken to travelling a little more at night for the cool, the air was still rather hot but it was rather pleasant to walk without the heat of the sun blaring down upon her the moon offering a far more forgiving temperature that she could cope with. All the same she had to rest at some point and she was typically choosing to do so in the hottest part of the day and at some point during the night when she had found a place to sleep. She had a preference to rest sheltered rather than out in the open though which did of course mean some times it took longer to find somewhere to sleep than others, though if she slept for longer than she intended then she wouldn't wake up to the uncomfortable heat of the sun's rays and of course didn't wish to lie out in the open free for anyone to attack. Particularly males at the moment to be honest, she had come into season now and had kept close to water since, anything to help cover her scent a little.
And so as she had caught sight of the cavern in the distance, she had altered her course of direction, carefully heading towards the cave. She took her time still rather than charging straight up to it, that would be a foolish move, for all she knew others may have claimed it as a home whether permanently or just for the night. Many scents were rather stale upon reaching the entrance, though there was one clearly fresh. Another female though a rather young one, and from what Emer could tell there wasn't anyone else around either. That of course shocked her slightly, having expected a mother to be present but there seemed to be no other scents.
Still cautious in her movements, Emer began to enter the cavern. She didn't bother attempting to be silent, her aim certainly wasn't to make the other jump though she was curious, certainly interested to discover if this was a cause for concern or not. "Hello?" She called out as she stepped further into the cavern, pausing now, senses alert and searching for the other.
