Evidently, her kids were all pissed with what happened at the meeting. She had been put into such awkward situations, thinking maybe she was doing the right thing, but it ended up being a disaster. She didn't miss the look on Kharnage's face when she named Lykos as Heir, and she was wondering if that was even the right decision. Truthfully, it should have been one of the others that had actually followed into making the pack, and she was thinking perhaps now it wasn't fair to them. Did she even need an Heir right now? Probably not. She wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon let alone stepping down. She'd worked too hard and waited too long to bring back what her father had lost. But what could she do now? Hell even Amachi didn't know him - but that was the point if Avalon had made him the second in command. She would take it upon herself to get to know him. After all, those boys would eventually have to learn that it was Avalon's life. The woman stopped when she heard her name, turning slightly to see Amachi coming up to her. In all her frustration, she hadn't heard the larger woman approach. Amachi'swords made her ears flick, and as the woman sat next to her, she too would sit and lean against her friend with a heavy sigh slipping past her jaws. "Why must my children be so difficult? Vereux didn't do anything wrong, I don't understand why they hate him so much..." Was it maybe because they had never had a father figure in their lives? Or were they just going through that teen stage? Either way, she wished they would just try to understand her side of things. "First meeting as an alpha, and it was a disaster!" Talk like this

Amachi would listen carefully to Avalon as the woman vented. Her ears flicked as she understood slightly what the other was getting at. Though she herself didn't consider the meeting a failure. "It's just goes to show with their age. And growing up with a single mother it's no wonder they're protective of you. No doubt they'd be a little frustrated with me if I had done the same." Amachi said as she looked at Avalon. She gave a sigh from her lips. "The meeting wasn't a disaster. I say it was a first success in getting to know how things will work. Your sons will have to accept vereux one way or another at a point. After all you choose your own happiness not them." She smiled.

"Don't stress, they do it because they love you. They don't even know half of who they are at the moment." Amachi made it clear she was here to support her friend. "I also have a request. I'd like to be lykos' mentor. It's a bit out of the ordinary but he has potential, his brothers can be jealous all they want but he carries himself like any heir should." Sometimes pride was important. No doubt growing up in imperium taught him a few things.

Maybe her friend was right. And maybe she wasn't. But Avalon was glad for her friends advice, because right now she had no idea what to do. She just wanted this difficult phase to be over and done with. While she had always imagined a happy family, she never thought it would come with this much trouble. Let alone being as broken as it was...never did she think she'd be a single mother, but here she was. "Well, I can't force them to like him...all I can do is make sure the pack gets along and not at each others throats." It was alot to think about, and she knew her job would get harder.

She remained quiet as amachi continued, nodding along and agreeing. She was right, her kids didn't get to choose her happiness. While they were very much a part of it and had influence in it, she was in charge of her happiness in the end. Ears perked then as she made a request, and Avalon would look up at her as she spoke. She wanted to be Lykos' mentor? While she wasn't opposed to it, Avalon had other ideas. "I might have him step down from heir. Not just because the others seemed upset, but truthfully, I don't need one right now. I don't plan on stepping down for a long time, so maybe I shouldn't place so much responsibility on him so soon..."

The woman would nod her head, and would never be offended if Avalon didn't take her advice. After all she was a strict believer that a wolf could only control themselves, and what they did most of the time was their decision. As she listened to Avalon, her tail would flick a little. So it was true, that perhaps they didn't need one. Avalon was still in her prime, but you could never prepare for the unknown. "Regardless, I'd love to teach him." she smiled towards Avalon. "You know if you need anything I am here for you." she looked away. "I spent seasons in the background watching alpha's.... since I once fell in love with one. I say I am no stranger to pack life even if it seems like I stick to the background." the memory made a sigh leave her lips. Days that she thought would just fade away.
