Clementine stared down at the water with furrowed brows. She knew it was nearly winter, the time in which the fish would be less active but she figured there would still be a few lingering near the surface. The woman was crouched slightly, standing in a cat of nine-tails bush. She knew the Fish weren't intelligent beings but she assumed if they had seen her menacing ebony body hovering over the lake they weren't going to come say hello. Thus, the woman waiting, staring downward, and with a ready paw. Clem's rump wiggled in mild excitement as she witnessed a Bass move closer towards her location. Closer.. Closer.... and WHACK! The woman quickly stuck her paw in the water with the intent to slap the fish from the water like a Bear. Water splashed all over her frontal form and before she knew it the fish was flapping away on the shoreline. Flop, flop, flop it went. Clementine then quickly pounced, attempting to pin the fish to the ground with two black paws. But, she was not so lucky as she fish managed to flop itself back into the water and quickly swim away. A quickly growl of frustration bubbled from her throat as the now sopping wet woman plopped down on her rump. A huff could also be heard as she longingly stared downward at the water. Not only did the femme pout, she assessed her mistakes mentally. If she would have hit it harder the fish would not have landed so close to the water and been able to escape. Clementine concluded that she doubted the prowess of a dying flopping fish.

He had been watching for a few minutes as a black female wolf slapped a fish and tried her best to incapacitate her lunch. She didn't succeed but at least she had tried. He gave a chuckle from his perch about 15 feet from her atop a hill. The little rock he sat on offered some distance between the cold wet ground and himself. He preferred dry and arid lands but today he decided to move in this direction. Curious about what may lay further south. His amethyst eyes were caught on her form and he had watched the whole spectacle. "Perhaps fish are off the menu sweetheart. They're slimy and unfulfilling anyway." he didn't move. His form would be darkened to her with the sun and its light behind him. Perhaps she would think him a weirdly shaped wolf. It would be interesting to watch her reaction when she figured it out that he was something else. His ears were high and his face focused on her. His tail shifted behind him with a friendly wag. His lips curved in a smile.

The flower stared at the water as she contemplated her mistakes. Despite everything she was her own worst critic. Not unhealthily so, but enough to put a damper on the next few hours or so. The walk home would consist of her own algorithms of how she could have done better. But, Clementine was also determined to not show up home empty pawed. She ventured out to bring some food home to her family and that is what she would do. Perhaps the babe would find a hare or Doe to bring down by herself, the south seemed plentiful as it were. Yet, as she lulled over the endless opportunities of the oncoming day a voice took her by surprise. Quickly, with ferociously raised hackles and curled lips, the woman pivoted around to face the spectator. His words almost lost in the flurry of shock, it seemed in her time of mild disappointment someone managed to sneak up on her. Moon-like eyes flicked up in his direction and she was filled with wonder. Despite her slightly menacing demeanor the woman seemed dumbfounded by his very appearance. Is this a Wolf?" It did not look like a normal Wolf. Though, it was not time for judgmental thoughts. Clementine softened after a few moments, lowering her natural defenses and replacing her instinctive snarl with a neutral expression. "You cannot give strangers such a fright!" The sweet girl scolded this odd male with a flurry of curiosity. "How long have you been watching me?" The woman could not help but to feel a pang of embarrassment as she thought over his former vocals. He had seen her failure, her facade of perfection already faltered. Yet, despite everything a tiny giggle escaped her lips, it was hard for the woman not to laugh at such a silly situation.

She whirled around viciously and he watched. She didn't much scare him or make him want to move on. He was honestly used to females dislike for him and also some of their enjoyment of him. He waited patiently on his rock as she settled down and berated him. Honestly if she had used her nose perhaps she might of known he was there. He gave a other hearty chuckle. "Was not my intention, but I've been here long enough." he stood and hopped down from his perch. He took the liberty to move towards her then. Time to surprise her mayhaps.

He stopped only a few short feet from her, his amethyst gaze was on her emerald one. He was waiting for her reaction.

Clementine fought a goofy grin as she thought over the situation. The thought of her actually being watched as she failed to catch a flopping fish was hilarious to say the least. She could laugh at herself in most instanced even if she was embarrassed in the beginning. Though, her silly thoughts were completely interrupted as he leapt to the ground. Clementine flinched ever so slightly which would only be a natural reaction if one saw some mutant canine flying at them. With a raised brow the curious woman thought over his masculine vocals. He was attempting to be mysterious and she was having none of it. Her mind was far too focused on his odd appearance. Now, she was not the type to judge someone by their looks, but he was obviously not a Wolf. Or a full Wolf to say the least. The woman then puffed out her chest, restoring her confidence, before letting for in inquiry of her own. "What are you?" A blunt and bold question. Perhaps he would take offense but her curiosity would not allow her to beat around any bushes.
