He grabbed her leg, and turned it over, pulling off the wrapping as he inspected the paw beneath. He drew in a sharp breath at the deep cut, and the bloody bandage he had pulled free. Roan was right, it was bad. “What foolishness is this?” he said softly, releasing her. The calm in his voice was deceptive. “Ah, no, dont tell, I see. Bullying the Alpha into sitting still and healing is one thing, but if the healer is injured she should walk it until it hurts so bad she's laid up for months?” He shook his head at her, disappointed that she would be so hypocritical. She had forced him to heal, and he was thankful for it (even if he had been a grump)
Now, it seemed, it was time to return the favour. He nodded at Roan discreetly, an indication of his thanks. “Zee has been lagging the last mile, she needs a break but she’s too stubborn to admit to it.” like other people he knew. “You and her can sit together in the waggon and take a break. There’s no reason to push yourself if you don’t have to - what can you possibly gain? Give Roan whatever supplies he will need for a few hours” he instructed his sister. His voice was still calm, and soft. He was speaking reasonably, but if she pushed it, he would push back, and both of them would regret it.

The behemoth had been situating herself with the harness when the injured man called for the warlord. At Io's snarl, Resin turned her attention to the duo turned trio. She listened as the brute in the cart tattled and she listened as Sirius gently gave Iolaire a suggestion which was definitely more instruction than anything. Resin had the feeling that, if Iolaire refused, things might get ugly.
Now, Resin hadn't been the best of mothers by any means. Despite this, the massive fae had always had an authoritarian way about her. Before Iolaire could refuse or continue to plead the case that she was fine, the giantess spoke in her growling tones. "Get in the cart." There was no room for refusal. Iolaire would get in the cart and rest her injured paw or Resin would put her there.

Was the whole god damn world against her? Sirius snatched up her paw, unwrapping the fur from around it and inspected the wound. It had begun to seep again due to jumping down from the cart, but it really wasn't life threatening. She would be fine as long as she rested later. It didn't seem that this was in the cards for her, however. Sirius gently suggested that she get in the larger cart, using Zee being pregnant as an excuse. He seemed to like guilt tripping her into doing things.
Iolaire opened her mouth to plead her case but the rasping voice of her mother cut through all of it. The small wolf's ears instantly tucked to her skull and she shot a glance backwards at the ash and onyx giant. Despite all of their time apart, her mother's stern tone always held the same warning. With a sigh, the injured healer flattened her ears and stalked towards the larger wagon, leaving her pack and the wrap back with the small cart. Roan could suffer for a while and she would leave spots of blood with every step. They wanted her to ride in the cart? Fine. She'd ride in the damn cart. She'd make damn sure to get blood on it though. Without a capable healer present, they couldn't stop her.

He was prepared to stand his ground, and force the healer into the cart (for her own good) if it came to that. Before he had to, Resin stepped in, ordering her daughter. She might have been of a lower rank then the healer, but she was, at the end of the day, still her mother. Sirius his his smile, knowing it would do more harm then good.
He watched Io stalk off, wincing quietly with each bloody step she took, and waited until she was far enough away. “You guys did good, thank you. Turns out you do earn your keep.” he said to Roan, giving him a friendly slap on the shoulder (the uninjured one) before heading back to the cart.
He waited until she was in the wagon, and helped Zee into place beside her. He gave his wife a kiss, and refrained from giving Io a friendly pat. Instead, he left her to have her space and went off to find a certain wolf whose expertise he currently needed. He knew Luce couldn't be far

The silver marked titan didn’t hide his sham, even though he knew this was the right things to do it still didn’t feel like it. Sirius scolded her gently but after everything it was the titaness who finished everything. Roan could hardly look at the dainty she wolf as she deposited her items next to him, harshly, before she made her way off towards the other wagon to sit with the Queen.
Roan sighed heavily even as the Warlord turned back to the two of them and praised their intervention. Iolaire had no business walking to their destination, and no one but her made protest about it. Sirius jostled him, but it seemed he’d at least earned a little respect from his new alpha, even if the price was Io’s trust. He peered out after her disappearing form and wondered if he really had done the right thing.

Iolaire stalked off. The girl possessed the same stubborn streak that both of her parents had. She was fiercely independent and didn't like to be told what to do. Resin couldn't blame her there. However, this was for her own good. Continuing on with an injury would be to her detriment. She was being saved from herself.
Throwing her weight into the harness, the behemoth brought the cart to rolling once more. It seemed easier now that she'd had a rest. Pulling away from the rest of the group, Resin put a bit of distance between them. Her rough tones, the result of Iolaire's father grazing her voice box with his teeth, carried to the man in the wagon behind her. "You did well. She'll forgive you in time." Of this, she was sure. Though Iolaire was stubborn and held a grudge, she was generally good-natured. Resin doubted that she would stay angry at him forever.

Resin was ready to go. He didn’t dwell long on his thoughts before the massive woman heaved into her work and the wagon was moving again. Once he was well he’d have to offer her a full buffalo in return for her work pulling him all across Boreas. He tried to keep his thoughts occupied with the different prey species he was going to hunt when he heard the older woman’s cracked voice. He looked back over his shoulder as inky ears turned towards her. She assured him that he had done the right thing, that Iolaire would one day forgive him.
Roan still wasn’t in the right mindset to smile, but her reassurance made him content at the least. For now he could relax in the cart, at least until the last batch of bark wore off. ”Thank you.” He returned back to her before resting his head on his paws once more. ”For everything.” Advice and more importantly for carting him around.

Although she was now heavily pregnant, the shamyn wasn't slacking in her duties. Lucretia was always ready to help an injured wolf even though she was looking especially round as of late. Sirius would find her quickly enough. The packs were preparing for their joint move and the gully was an ideal place to gather. It only made sense to scope out the nearby lush areas. Once she knew what kind of supplies she would have easily at hand she could make a plan for what was lacking. Luce arrived on the scene to see an odd assortment of wolves, some she hadn't met yet. She was unable to stop herself from making a chiding tsk'ing noise as she spotted the wolves laid up in a cart. "What happened here? How can I help?"
Luce offered an uncharacteristically warm smile to Zee. The typically reserved Klein felt a particular kinship with the fellow pregnant female. It was a unique bond. She'd have to make a point to visit with her soon so that they could compare their personal experiences. Zee's initial exam when she was taken on as an Ashen slave felt like a lifetime away. There wasn't a wolf she could think of that didn't respect the Warlord's bride now.

Oh great... Her stupid, tactless brother had called Lucretia. At the moment, she hated him. She hated all of them. Iolaire was a wolf that was full of pride. Those that she held closest had taken a bite out of her ego and she was far from okay with it. She wouldn't be speaking to any of them for quite a while. They didn't deserve her conversation or kindness. Did they think that she would purposefully bring long-lasting harm herself? They must have. Sirius had used the excuse of 'talk with Zee. She's pregnant and sick.' No. Iolaire wouldn't be speaking to anyone for the remainder of the trip.
The tsk that Luce released brought a slightly growl from the smaller woman. Pregnant or no, Iolaire couldn't take many more wolves looking down on her like she was a child. Rather than speak, she tucked her paw beneath her body and ignored Lucretia's existence. She ignored them all. Today, they didn't exist to her. She was glad that she'd left Roan in the other cart by himself. She hated him too.

Sirius frowned at Io, wondering what was going through her mind. He had never seen her act so childish, nor surley in the time he had known her. He had believed her above such things, especially when she had berated him so strongly for the time he had acted so when injured. She had wrestled him down to doing right by his body, and he had trusted her, and accepted it. Now she in turn, had decided to limp along for an entire day’s journey on a bad foot, for absolutely no reason. They didn’t need her to pull any sleds, nor scout for food. They had space for her in a wagon, and other healers that could see to her.
Why did this matter so much to her? Why did she want to push herself in pain? Did she feel she deserved it? He thought about her past, and what he had known about her thus far. He thought about how she would react if she was him, and he her right now. She would bonk him on the nose, and tell him he was being a right fool.
“Let the healer look at you Io, we have the resources, and the time. I won’t have you dealing with the pain the entire journey if you don’t have to.” voice still soft as he considered her. He hadn’t wanted the fuss himself, but he had seen sense when she had made him do so. Would she see the same? He willed her to consider the fact that they were siblings, and it was their job to look out for each other. That was all he was doing.
