The whole litter was growing fast, but the boys showed quickly they would attain massive heights one day. Especially Indigo, the young aptly named puppy was taking a mid afternoon nap but even from his curled position his heavy build could be seen. Not only was he the chubbiest of the puppies, but Indy was built like a tank. One day he’d grow into his incredibly long legs but it could be put to doubt that he would ever fit into his paws.

His big head rested on his long limbs as the sun peeked through the ash tainted clouds and filtered gentle rays upon his impossibly vibrant violet pelt. His dark lips held a soft smile, the innocent puppy was hard to bring down, since he was allowed out of the den (mostly) Indy hadn’t dropped the grin from his jaws. The world was new, pure, and exciting. There was nothing that could go wrong.

The shaggy-maned and deeply-tones wolf, the one he had thought was his youngest before Asla had poked her head free of him, would be the one the Warlord would seek today. He was gently and subtly starting the training on all the pups, and he was eager to begin with the lion-like son.

It didn’t take long to find him, he rested near the den, watching the clouds, and even on his tiny face, Sirius could see his smile. The Warlord made his way closer, nudging the young boy gently with a paw. “Helly my little Cloud-Cat” he murmured, reaching his head down to tickle his nose against Indigo’s thick fur around his neck.

Indigo was much like a normal pup, though the fur around his neck was slightly thicker than the rest of his body the mane that would eventually cover him wouldn’t start showing until he was a bit older. His kitten claws were very much developed and he was learning to use the sharper claws. However much he’d been told not to when wrestling with his siblings.

His dark red marked ear swiveled back at the sound of approaching paws, and his father’s touch was suddenly there and his looming form above him. The royal purple boy looked up to his father, grin growing. He adored both of his parents. ”Hi, Dad!” He offered with an eager wag of his vibrant tail.

The simple joy of a puppy happy to see you was a novelty the Warlord was still adjusting to. His smile was instinctive and instant as he beamed back down at the boy, leaning forward to kiss the purple wolf between his ears. His affection when it came to these pups was as easy as breathing.

He nudged the pup playfully, gentle and precise in his movements with something so small and fragile as a baby. “Did you want to learn anything today?” he asked, leaving it open ended if there was any skill so questions the boy had thought of throughout the day that he wanted to get out.

The whole family shared affection easily and Indigo pushed against his father’s affections in return. The young boy didn’t hesitate to find his black paws as Sirius nudged him gently, his purple tail wagged eagerly at his hips. His father seemed eager to teach, and asked about his want to learn. ”I want to learn everything!” He answered with gusto as he jumped up to accentuate his eagerness. ”Mom says your the strongest wolf in the world!” He told his father in awe, coming near to his side and leaning into his mammoth of a sire. ”Will you teach me to be strongest too?” He asked innocently. Indigo wouldn’t be much of a go getter later in life, but he would be able to protect what was his.
