Interesting night?

Torin hadn't noticed his children sneaking out but he had noticed when they didn't come back, their trails long gone stale and the sun already high in the sky. To say he was stressed about it was a bit of an understatement. He knew he couldn't pen his children in, they were adults and they were free to go and act as they pleased but it'd be a lie to say he wasn't worried about them, especially after losing his wife and son. So it was that he was pacing inside the willows, he didn't want to be the father standing at the doorstep, a stern look and lecture ready for his wayward children, but he was too anxious not to be nearby where they'd left the pack from, even if he wasn't right on the border. |

He took his relative freedom to wander from the pack now a days for granted, he was regretting it now. Lachlan’s head was absolutely pounding this morning and at this point wasn’t even sure if he was going to make it all the way home. Surely his father wouldn’t notice if he was gone another day. He didn’t remember the whole night, but he did remember swimming in the ocean with a pretty girl. That thought was the shining gem from his night because this morning was awful.
The young man groaned as he neared the border, almost certain that Aryn had already made it home safely but he wasn’t certain either. He hoped so or he knew he was going to feel even worse about going. Ugh he didn’t want another drink ever again, he just wanted to go drawl into his den and pretend he didn’t exist. At the edge of the border he took in a deep breath, impressed he had made it so close. Now he just had to avoid any patrols or his dad.

Unluckily for his son, Torin was much more aware and awake and unimpeded by a hangover and so it wasn't hard for him to catch the fresh wiff of... well, it was Lachlan but there was also a heavy tinge of alcohol, vomit and... Torin had known it would only be so long until his children were starting to think about sex, about romance... but that didn't do anything to quell the distraught that wracked through him. His children were adults now, and in more ways than he was really comfortable with. With quick strides the man would move to intercept his son, taking a quick moment to assess he was at the very least outwardly fine. The last thing he wanted was for any of his children to be hurt... though maybe a little embarrassed or dealing with the consequences of their actions. "Rough night?" He called out as he approached, maybe a little louder than he needed to. |

Lachlan had indeed had an informative night that Torin probably didn’t want to know any of the details about. The boy was feeling like a sack of shit and not just because of his hangover. He’d totally forgotten about his sister. Lachlan had dived into the bottle with no regard to consequences and now he was dealing with that after effect. He’d left Aryn to the wolves but he’d also let himself go much too far. His mind only brought glimpses of the night previous, but he didn’t focus on them too heavily yet. Mostly he was worried about how much the light was intensifying his headache.
As he steeled himself to continue on he heard rustling in the brush as the sudden appearance and voice of his father made him flinch. Not because he was ashamed (though he should have been), but because of the pain in his head. ”No, rough morning.” He answered. Torin would have been by far and away used to Lachlan’s wanderings, but if Aryn had returned first he had no doubt his dad had some really good guesses what he’d been up to. Not to mention the smell of him. He should have taken another dip in the ocean before returning home.

Unfortunately for his son, Aryn had been taxied home the previous night, the Abraxas alpha having delivered her home still drunk and reeking of the party; so he had a pretty good idea of where Lachlan was coming from... but well... he wanted to hear it from his son. "I imagine, Aryn's probably feeling much the same way, although she hasn't left her den since arriving home last night so you'll have to wait before you can commiserate with her." He said, watching his son carefully, wondering how he'd react when he realized the jig was up. "Strangely though she wasn't in any state to explain exactly where she was, so I'm hoping you can elucidate me." |

Lachlan tried not to flinch as he heard his sister’s name, and the scene unfolded slowly. Tyrian convincing him that he was no babysitter… The memory went foggy but Torin was still speaking. Squinty eyes looked up cautiously at his father, he kind of wished he was allowed to go find his den and wallow in his own misery. At this point regretting very slightly not following someone else home.
Where had they been, Aryn hadn’t told him apparently. That didn’t mean Lachlan wanted to anymore than she did! He closed his eyes fully, pretty sure he couldn’t even deal with this right now. ”Um. A beach.” He answered hesitantly, not wanting to divulge any information about the previous night. To anyone. Especially his dad. ”Can I go lay down now?” He asked, searching desperately for an out.
