It wasn't more than a hop and a skip from Tyrian's den to the barn so as he liked to do early every morning, Tyrian threw open the doors and strolled in. Behind him the sun was rising and with the door open just so, the outline of his shadow was ringed in a soft pink glow. He stopped just inside and breathed in the musty smell of sheep and earth. This end of the barn was stalls and by stopping in the doorway he could see every one. Most were empty, their doors standing wide, but a few at the back were closed to keep their young inhabitants contained. Upon hearing the door open some of the residents stirred and Tyrian could hear them sleepily tossing around in the hay. Soon enough they'd be on their feet and clamoring for attention. So he better prepare for them, eh?

Quietly in the hopes of giving himself a little more time to prepare, Tyrian crept down the corridor. Any second now Tashi would be joining him and together they'd feed the lambs and get things going for the day. Technically this was the job of the commoners and herdsmen, but there was something about taking care of his sheep from start to finish that appealed to Tyrian, so he was always in the rotation. He took pride in their care; in watching the little orphans grow up big and healthy, and knowing their success was his doing. It was early, sure, but as far as starting the day went, it couldn't be beat.

Tyrian has a saber-toothed snow leopard companion named Zahir, a black-footed gray langur named Tashi and a striped skunk companion he insists on calling Righty even though her name is Daisy. Assume all are nearby if not mentioned.
