ooc: This takes place shortly after the funeral. Gossamer is likely going to storm out after the news in disbelief. I wanted to get this posted since I see on the timeline the funeral was in the middle so I just wanted to get caught up on what is going on with Gossamer.
I believe Ophelia might be going with her? I'm fine with either Natha or Stjarna being sent after them.
A chill wind blew down from the north bringing dark clouds that obfuscated the moon and cloaked the night even deeper in darkness. Gossamer watched for a moment as her breath turned to fog in the cold night air. The breath of life. A breath her father had informed them had been stolen from her mother and Azure. Gossamer choked back her tears, a painful lump catching in her throat. She couldn't believe it, she refused to believe it.
Gossamer's travois lay strung across her back, loaded with dried meats and herbs. A few rolled hides as well as other crafted items. She brought a few bowls as well as her fire starting materials and water skin. She ran a mental check over everything she'd packed then looked to Ásta.
"Gossamer," the fox said softly, "Are you sure you want to be doing this? Shouldn't you be here for your family?"
Gossamer hesitated, looking back toward the Armada. Her eyes narrowed and she looked right at the fox. "That's exactly what I'm doing. My mom and my brother are out there somewhere. I can't just abandon them." She turned and headed north, figuring it was as good a place to start as any. Ásta wished to argue, but having lost family of her own she knew the steps of grieving had to be taken. It seemed the journey through denial was going to be a tough one for the girl. Still, they had travelled before outside of the pack lands and Gossamer was a yearling now. Perhaps it was time for a journey of self-discovery.
