OOC Note: Marked M for the vulgar and frankly somewhat inaccurate retelling of her breakup. Please know her version is NOT accurate and the real version can be found here. (RK and Ali, ILU and I'm sorry!)

Sparrow had been less than sociable the past few days since Hanako dumped her for that lousy blue-balled heir Azure. What a stupid turn of events. 'Oh I thought he was dead,' bullshit excuse for, 'my wimp-ass boyfriend got lost, but I'm so fucking whipped for him, I'll deny everything I did these past few seasons and accept a grounding like some dumbass pup to make him happy.' Like oh my GOD, get a life- wait you HAD one and you dropped it for Mr. soon-to-be-king-but-can't-beat-a-pirate-at-my-own-border. But, whatever, maybe that was charming for miss bitchass pussy, miss roll over and fold my tail cause u got an inheritance, miss- well, the point had been made. She was angry and hurt and all those good emotions that only bitters could unbitter.

So Sparrow threw a pity party. She invited the pirates and anyone they wanted to bring and sent Pongolo to invite the others: Pirates, loners, Fireside, Abaven, Habari, probably other bands, but definitely NO Hanakos, Azures, Ashen, Armadas, Hattoris, or other kois mostly. She decided there would be races and maybe a spar and maybe she'd hook up with a new cutie. The world was hers, more or less.

Sparrow found an area that was as close as she could possibly get to the Armada's borders without actually being on the pack lands. She sat on a large pile of fur bits and sticks and leaves and feathers and things. Her makeshift throne adorned with bottles of alcohol- one or two already empty. The sun set, its light filtering through the trees. Friar set a raised stage of logs and sticks which he and Pongolo prepared. As others arrived, Friar would try to cast two other companions to paint for the reenactment of the Great Terrible Deed.

A few fresh and definitely not anger kills laid on a fur adorned with more alcohol. All invited were given two missions: be entertaining and be entertained!

Feel free to skip posting order for spars/races. Let's make a long and messy thread, as parties be!
Round 1 due Sept. 14

Sparrow has a female Harlequin Macaw named Pongolo and a male Capuchin monkey named Friar, and a hairless mushroom tuxedo cat named Beef Sandwich. She also has cat claws... and some weird leg spike things.

Sparrow had a special place in her heart. The wanton pirate queen was plenty of things Theory wished she could be - unapologetically brash, shameless, loud, hysterical... Of course when she received the invitation to this party, she'd been all in. It had taken some time to goad Thalia into attending, but it was possible that the gathering would also be good for reconnaissance. Any excuse to gather after the long, isolating past few seasons was a worthy one.

She'd brought along some dried, spiced meat that Fable had been working on. The young chef had begrudgingly parted with it, only because she claimed that the recipe wasn't perfected yet. Theo couldn't tell the difference - it was sensational. The meat was wrapped carefully in some soft leather. There wasn't a surplus of it, so she planned on gifting it directly to Sparrow first. She'd truly sounded forlorn. Her happy-go-lucky cousin acting anything but was so strange that it merited arriving unfashionably early. "Shparroo - " Theory tried to mouth around the package she cried in her jaws but quickly gave up, trotting the last few meters to close the distance between them.

"I brought you this - my niece made it. It's delicious, I promise. We came to watch the races," She murmured, nudging Thalia affectionately with her shoulder. The alpha arced an eyebrow at the beginning of Friar's re-enactment. "Is that - uh, embellished?" Strange to think that Sirius' child was already a young buck, and apparently handsome enough to cause this kind of heartbreak pandemonium.

I'm Trying to Find A Signal Fire

Pyralis was living her best life laying in the sun, drinking rum, and starting unnecessarily large fires. When the fires were, mostly, safely expunged she would spend her time sleeping. Alkali had informed her of Sparrow's return but it was evident immediately the pirate king had not gotten her desired results for she seemed intent on keeping to herself. Pyralis wasn't a mother hen so she gave the woman space as she continued to work on her fires.

Soon, it was time to show what the seemingly lazy, old woman had been up to. When Sparrow called for a party to start Pyralis was ready. She slipped into the harness and headed out towards the woods. When she arrived it was to see Sparrow and a woman that smelt distinctly of Abaven. "Spaarrooooow…. I bring you… fire!" She cackled and gestured to the large bonfire she'd been hauling on a flatbed cart with round-ish wooden wheels. Pieces of slate lined the bed of the cart on which logs and kindling were artfully stacked and set ablaze.

Pyralis slipped out of her harness and flopped down on a nearby pelt. "Soooo… I don't see the kisser. I'm guessing you either lost or she dumped you and considering we aren't riding into battle to rescue fair maiden I'm gonna guess the later." She pulled a bottle of rum from her bag and rolled it toward Sparrow. "What's that old saying, there are other fish in the sea?" Pyralis grabbed a bottle of merlot herself, removing the cork with her teeth.

Please note that Pyralis is a ghost. It is up to you to decide what level your chars can see/hear her. She was killed by having her throat ripped apart. At times the wound may be visible and be actively bleeding.

Hear ye!  Hear ye! Beware her Ladyship, her Excellence (etc. ad infinitum), Captain Pyralis Abraxas.  Thread with at yer own risk!  This cutthroat savage stands accused though not convicted of heinous crimes including murder, maiming, brawling, cursing, kidnapping and an unspeakable event involving a newt, two coyotes and a distressed potoo.  Ye've been warned!

Skadi had been itching to head for the party grounds from the moment she'd learned she was invited. The backstory didn't quite interest her, but the promise of games and a good time definitely did. She'd waited impatiently at Fireside's border for the others who were going and then, once she'd spied someone headed vaguely in her direction, she'd taken off like a shot. The identity of the wolf walking her way was unknown to her and honestly it didn't matter. She just needed someone else to be going since Tyrian was all up in arms about threats and hostages and the like. Not that she thought anyone would want to keep her if they caught her. She was far more trouble than she was worth, ask anyone.

Once on the party grounds her attention was immediately drawn to the companions putting on a show. Naturally she went over to watch and plonked down in the dirt at their feet. There was bottles and fire, and other things worth investigating, but for now she was content. While she'd had a sip or two of alcohol before it didn't really interest her. She'd seen her uncles get goofy after drinking it, but all she'd gathered from what little she'd tasted was that it was no good to drink. So for now she was content to watch the show and maybe later play some games.

It had been a while since he'd been out this way, but now that he was back in Boreas, he was intent on perhaps finding something to do and a worthy crew to join. Today wasn't the day more than likely, but as he was passing by the area, he heard a call for some sort of gathering. It sounded like an open invitation sort of thing, so he figured he might as well check it out. Upon arriving, he smelled the strong stench of alcohol and fire. He knew what both were, but alcohol he had never tried before. While he was still in the mindset that he was holier than thou, maybe this gathering would help to let him see how mortals acted freely and unhindered by rules and laws. He strolled into the gathering, noticing first the cart of fire and a woman sitting atop a makeshift throne. She didn't look too happy, but it wasn't his business to ask what her deal was. Whatever the case, he was here to observe and he supposed whatever happened, happened.

One woman sort of stood out to him, but he wasn't sure why. She was much older, but fond of whatever she was drinking it seemed. He eyed her as she approached her and Sparrow, "I heard your call, mind if I stick around?" As he watched others arrive, he briefly wondered if Tox would make an appearance...of everyone he had ever engaged with in the past, she was the only one that he could remotely get along with...in a sense, he was mad at himself for not telling her at least why he felt the need to leave..

"Talk" Walk

It had been a long time since he set foot beyond the North to attend a gathering of wolves. No doubt there would be plenty of attendees from all over, but he had nothing to hide and he was done isolating himself in the North. He wasn't ashamed to show his face, after all, he had done a great deal of change and thinking over the months. He was finally getting over the hurt he had with Corvus and didn't want to hold any animosity towards him or Abaven. He didn't have beef with Abaven anyway, but Corvus...he hadn't known how to handle that. The best thing he could do was let time heal his emotional wound, and that's just what he had chosen to do. He headed South to Sparrow's party, some of his pack mates in tow and a gift in his jaws. He had some seal skins draped over his back that he planned on giving to Sparrow for her to do with as she wished, and a satchel of dried seal jerky to share at the party along with a barrel of mead that he had brewed himself. Greed was pulling that on the makeshift sled behind him. It was all he could think to do to make some sort of peace offering to anyone who might want to partake, but he wasn't going to cry about whether they did or not. He was here peacefully and to enjoy himself.

As he arrived, he spotted Sparrow sitting on a makeshift throne with a couple others around her already. He somewhat stiffened when he saw Theory, but he forced himself to relax. He had no ill feelings or beef with her or Abaven anymore, so he approached and dropped the satchel at the base of Sparrow's throne. "Sparrow, I bring gifts as a gesture of friendship and goodwill for your party. Seal skins for you to do with as you please, and seal jerky and mead brewed by yours truly, to share with everyone else. I look forward to the fun."

The coldest part of the year was rapidly approaching and Mara found herself just as grumpy about it as she had been the last time summer up and left her. Part of her mind whispered that she should just bite the briar and move someone tropical, where she would develop a taste for crustaceans and never see another stupid snowflake for as long as she lived. Thoughts like these had propelled her farther and farther south, trying and failing to keep ahead of the encroaching freeze. There was plenty of open country between The Accursed North™ and Wherever She Was Headed™ but sooner or later she caught a whiff of pack smell and grumbled again as she turned to chart a new path clear of their borders.

She wasn't exactly carrying expectations with her, beyond dry grass and scarce game, but that didn't mean she was any less surprised to find a congregation growing on the other side. She had heard something a little while ago, but she'd been too busy muttering to herself to pay it any mind. Her eyes narrowed, steps faltering until she stood still. If she'd gone out of her way to avoid accidentally trespassing only to get swept up into pack bullshit anyways she was going to be pissed. Standing downwind, she gave a cautionary sniff and was met by all sorts of mingling scents, but no real cohesion to them. What, was there some new spectator sport she wasn't aware of? Playing a game of I'm-Not-Touching-You with pack wolves? Yikes. Mara was moments away from slinking back into the undergrowth to find a new-new path further south when a flicker of light caught her attention. Was that... She gasped, blue eyes wide with disbelief.

Fire? Sweet, sweet warmth? Okay yeah, fuck it, she was absolutely willing to get press-ganged for that. No, she was absolutely not being a big ol' baby over a little chill, these were dire straits! With that target locked on she resumed trotting forwards, spirits much lifted and an easy smile stretched across her face. Coming closer, Mara couldn't help but notice that this buncha weirdos also seemed to have brought food, what she'd bet her tail was alcohol of some kind, and... a monkey, real keen on expressing his artistic side. Boy-oh-boy did she have questions, and while those questions could wait introductions probably shouldn't. "Room for one more in... whatever this is? Specifically by this beautiful beastie?" Mara called out by way of greeting a few yards away, cutting right to the chase, barely sparing a glance for the wolves themselves in favor of staring longingly into the flames. Gods, it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen. If she had a few more inches on her, concocting an elaborate heist would be very much on the table, consequences be damned.

A screeching parrot had brought news of a party full of drinks, races, fun, and good times. It was a brief invitation but made clear that all Loners were invited. Curious as to what this sort of party would turn out to be, Audra had made her way to the Weeping Woods. Large willows teemed before her with their drooping branches and soft whispers. With eyes wide, the small she-wolf made her way through the leaves. Golden light shimmered through the trees, sending dazzling sparkles that glittered off the small streams and puddles that sat haphazardly around the trunks.

In a clearing, as she glanced through a batch of limbs, Audra's eyes saw the party at hand. Upon a makeshift thrown, a blue-eyed speckled wolf sat with a few bottles of liquid near her. Nearby a monkey set a stage with eagerness. Tilting her head gently with her mounting curiosity, Audra watched from the sidelines for a moment. Nearby the throned lady, another black and white blue-eyed wolf stood as the monkey's reenactment started. It wasn't soon after that a dark-colored wolf that smelled similar to the speckled one had drug in a cart full of blazing fire. Stepping back for a moment, Audra stood amazed. The wolves in this land could do possibly anything they set their mind to.

Taking in more of the scene, Audra noticed a smaller than her purple wolf watching the show. Her tail wagged slightly at the thought of possibly making new friends. It wasn't long before two males to approach and another female that made her way quickly to the fire. Almost all of them had brought something as a favor. Instantly, she looked down at the satchel around her neck. Maybe she could offer some herbs if someone were to get sick? Or possibly she had a mysterious mushroom or two hidden at the bottom that she had been saving. Nervous, but all the more curious to join in on the fun, Audra stepped out from her hiding spot.

Carefully picking her way over to the companions that were excitedly putting on their show, she smiled. Keeping her distance and staying aware, Audra's tail wagged. Maybe once the show was over, she could muster up the courage to say hi to someone.

Come down, come down sweet reverence

Jynn had been surprised to get an invite to another party and more so that Sparrow's companion had been able to find her. Then again, she'd still be hanging out in the same area of Auster so perhaps it wasn't that surprising after all. Either way, she figured it would be a good distraction and get her back up into Boreas where she planned to do some more exploration. Jynn had to admit she was a bit nervous when she realized the party was getting awfully close to the Armada border. Still, there was strength in numbers and she felt some vindication at the noise and ruckus they were causing for their neighbors.

She scoured through the faces of the wolves gathered until she saw Sparrow. Jynn padded over to to the pirate king before calling out a greeting. "Hey Sparrow, you hanging in there? Gotta say this is an… interesting location choice. I was mauled around here not to long ago. You sure about this?"

09-09-2021, 10:14 PM (This post was last modified: 09-09-2021, 10:15 PM by Kali. Edited 1 time in total.)

As much as Kali loved her pack, things about Habari were feeling rather...stale. There were only so many times she could piss on a tree and walk their borders before she wanted to pull her fluffy fur out. Her brothers drove her bonkers as well and she was itching to get out and do something, so when the Mccaw had swept across their borders announcing a party was to be held, well she simply had to go.

She’d eagerly started putting together a present to bring. The girl figured that everyone would be bringing some sort of food, one of the easiest things to throw together, but she didn’t want to be normal and boring. No, she wanted to stand out. So, she made use of her home. The yearling had ventured up to the volcano and poked around in the obsidian deposits that could be found. It took her a few days to find and it had required her venturing into some...unsavory caves, but in the end she found just what she was looking for. Further crafting had been required, but once her gift was finished she couldn’t help but grin. Yes, that would do nicely.

On the day of the party, she’d done herself up nicely. Her instinct had been to take after her great aunt Deathbelle and use flowers, but seeing as it was winter they were rather impossible to find. Instead, she used a length of wire with several small, clear crystals attached. It was wrapped loosely along the length of her body and when she moved and the light hit it just right, the crystals would shine in rainbow colors. It was quite eye catching and just what she wanted.

She’d instructed Abigor, her nile monitor lizard, to stay behind because he wasn’t quite as portable as Abbadon, but her melanistic hooded cobra was secured snuggly around her neck. Attached to him was a leather pouch containing her gift. Then, she’d set off to the Weeping Woods. Luckily it was practically a hop, skip and a jump from Habari’s border so it didn’t take her long. The glow of a fire could be seen and she picked up her pace, tail lifting in excitement before she reminded herself to not make an embarrassment of herself. She reminded herself of who she was, lifting her chin and lengthening her strides until she practically floated into the clearing where others had gathered.

The girl’s bicolored took in those around her, noting that, thankfully, she wasn’t the youngest one there, but it was still a small percentage. A small play seemed to be being set up in a section while the current entertainment seemed to be seated on a throne of fur and other trinkets. She noted that the others to arrive stopped by her first and deposited their goods and she assumed that they were the one hosting the get together. Without hesitation she headed in her direction, noting with each step that the woman was quite gorgeous. She was swathed in browns, tans and creams that swirled across her body artfully then smattered in an array of freckles, pulled together by the bright blue eyes that poked out from her face. A smile pulled its way onto her lips as she moved to stand in front of the other. “I hope you haven’t been too bored until now. You see, the party has officially arrived,” she said cheekily, her luxurious tail swishing behind her lithe frame alluringly. “I’ve brought a trinket. I’m sure you’ll find it suitable,” she announced. Abbadon slid from his place along her neck, coiling down her long legs and slithering over to the pile where the other gifts had been placed. The leather pouch was deposited on top, then he returned to her the same way he’d come. Inside, Sparrow would find a bracelet of snowflake obsidian. The precious volcanic rock had been hammered and polished into small, round pebbles and arranged in a circlet for the wearer. The type of obsidian itself was priceless and worth a small fortune, but she considered all the more valuable since it had been made by her paws.

”Surely you won’t be staying up there all night. That would be quite boring,” she said with a wink before turning and making her way over to the refreshments table for some alcohol.

Tyrian made a lap around the gathering to see who all was there before making his way to Sparrow. It seemed like everyone had brought her presents, but he'd missed the memo. If he'd known break ups meant gifts he would have done a lot more of it. When he got to Sparrow he gave her a hearty bow, stepped back and said, "And for you, Pirate King, Fearsome Lady Sparrow...I gift you my presence as it has been known to be the shining light," he lifted paw towards the sun and made a popping motion, "of parties." He smirked up at her, hoping, genuinely, that she would see his attempts at humor for what they were. She wouldn't want his pity and he wouldn't give her any, but he would give her shit.

Wendigo Klein

As expected Wendigo arrived on scene and made a beeline for the fire. It was just so big and beautiful he couldn't resist. Without even knowing what else this night held Wendigo knew this was his kind of party. Any party with fire was immediately at the top of his list.

As soon as he got close to the blaze Wendigo realized it was no ordinary fire. In awe of the contraption he stood quietly at its base gazing up at in wonder. The wheels, the base- this was a masterpiece! Collecting himself, he ran a quick lap around it and noted that in being brought to the party the bonfire hadn't dropped embers, ash and burning sticks all over the place meaning - he thought - the bottom of the thing was solid. Wendigo's little mind was blown.

Forget the party, he wanted the fire! He ran around to the harness and began to fiddle with it. Yep, this was his now.

Recluse Ithuriel-Klein

Recluse had made it clear to her kids they were welcome to attend the party, now into their first year and her protectiveness was slackening slightly. It probably didn't help it was the turn of her season now and her mind was turning to the prize she'd claimed earlier, a young heir whom she had no doubt would provide some strong heirs of his own. But she wouldn't snub the pirate king, not when she also happened to be quite fond of her.

The children that chose to attend were told to mind their tongues, they were not to sass anyone too far and know if they dug themselves a hole she'd be the first to push them in. They were old enough and she'd taught them well enough that she believed if they didn't know better it was their failing and not hers. She allowed Kali and Wendigo to wander ahead, knowing just from the glow on the horizon where he'd be found. She would keep an eye on the children when she could but her attention was drawn towards the party girl. Though she wouldn't push her way in with the masses, her attention turning towards the dramatics that were being put on. Lillith seemed rather intruiged, while Galho took wing to keep an eye on the children. A smirk pulled at the woman's cherry lips and she would finally snake her way towards Sparrow.

"I may have some information of interest to you, for later." She would whisper as she passed in close, giving Sparrow a wink before heading off, her attention turning towards the older woman she'd met at the last pirate get-together, her tongue swiping across her maw hungrily.

He followed Ignis to the pirate party they were going to attend. The sled he was strapped to moved easily behind him, a barrel of mead strapped down to it. He had gotten a taste of it before they went on their way, and he had to admit...Ignis made a good batch. It had been a lot of trial and error, but they finally managed to find a recipe that both tasted good and could get the largest of beasts drunk. Perfect for a party, no? On top of that, this particular recipe had a different blend of berries and a hint of apple. It was an even blend of sweet and tart in his own opinion.

Upon arriving with the others, Greed unstrapped himself from the sled and left the barrel in the middle near the cart of fire. He had to admit that whoever brought that was impressive, to say the least. Motioning to Claire, the pair of them prepped the barrel and got everything ready so the party-goers could serve themselves when they were ready. Greed had learned how to make cups out of horns from other animals, turtle shells, coconuts...even clay. What else was he to do in his old age? Might as well learn new crafts, right? Once everything was laid out, he stepped back and made sure everything was ready to go. The spout was in working order, the Armada male making sure it was working without issues when he unplugged it and poured a cup for himself and Claire. It flowed at just the right pace, not too fast and not too slow so it wouldn't waste too much if someone forgot about it. Lucky for him, he managed to figure out how to rig it in the event someone did forget, and it would stop itself when it was no longer being pressed.

He was proud of his work, and now it was time to enjoy the party he supposed. Taking his drink, he and Claire moved away to observe and talk and watch. To see who else would show up. He didn't know anyone here though, and neither did Claire. Other than their packmates, he wondered if Claire at least, would find some new friends.

Úlfr had little experience with parties and he wasn't really sure what to do or bring. One thing he did like to do was eat and what was a party without food? His jaws were latched around a yearling white tail he'd caught in the woods and which he was now diligently dragging toward the party. When he arrived he was surprised to see just how many wolves had showed up. He was expecting the pirates of course and maybe a few Fireside wolves but this was a lot more than he anticipated. Well, shoot. He'd need to do more hunting if he was going to help feed this crowd. Then again, they seemed more interested in drink so maybe just a snack here and there would prove sustenance enough.

She had to admit, she was rather excited to attend an event. The pack had grown dreary and had an uncertain future, though Ignis was back, she wasn't sure about anything. Her siblings had abandoned the pack. Abandoned her. All she had left was Greed, and her elder siblings...? Probably dead by now. She had grown accustomed to being alone, though she appreciated Greed's company and mentorship, she craved more then that. Would she find that here? New friendse maybe?

She glanced at Greed as they walked, wondering what it was like to be him. In a sense, he was in the same boat. His entire family abandoned him, and all he had left was Avalon before she passed...and now, Claire. He wasn't related by blood, but he was more family to her then her own siblings were at this point. She was glad to have him in her life, and she wanted to do more for him. Something he truly deserved. Maybe she could find him a girlriend here? He didn't have kids of his own, and the thought of him dying before that happened didn't sit well with her.

When they approached the party, she helped Greed make sure everything was in working order before joining him with her own cup of mead. She sat with him and observed those that were here and those arriving..."There's a lot of strangers here..." She murmured...but then again, just about everyone outside of Incendium was a stranger to her.

Dagrún did not want to be left behind as soon as she realized her sister Skadi was going to the party. She didn't really know what you did at a party but she was game to find out and didn't want to miss anything exciting. She tagged along after her sister and Tyrian but her pace slowed as they started to near the crowd of strange wolves. She gazed about suspicious, skirting around the group to a large willow that she quickly skirted up. Perching on the lowest branch of the tree she opted to just watch and observe the going ons before deciding if she actually wanted to participate in this affair. There had been the mention of races, that was something she would like to try. Everything else she could leave.

Álarr trailed after the rest of the Fireside crew, a bottle of wine held in the satchel slung over his shoulders. He could use a drink and this particular wine held herbs within it to help with his pain. Nothing too strong, he wanted to have more than a couple swallows. Thankfully, he'd been healing well. The stabbing pains had gone leaving only the dull aches and occasional pinches when he moved. When he arrived Álarr added a few more bottles of wine to Sparrow's stack, offering her a gentle smile. He didn't really know what to say so he settled down nearby to pour himself a drink, he looked to Jynn and nodded in greeting.

You couldn't kill me if you tried

She was out and about exploring things when she heard a call for a gathering. Curious, the girl headed towards it to find that wolves from all places had gathered. Ears perked when she heard the word party being thrown around, and while she wasn't sure if she was allowed to be here or not, her curiosity and naivete drew her in. Tel was too enthralled with everyone she saw, and even if she wasn't allowed to be here, at least maybe they'd let her stick around to make a new friend or two. She wasn't sure who made the call, but from she could gather, maybe it was the woman in the center of it all that had a bunch of other wolves gathered around her. She stood around, watching as others went milling about and others arriving still. It wouldn't hurt to check things out before going back home, right? Tail wagging behind her, glowing brightly like a beacon, she opted to nonchalantly walk around and take in the sights.

Two things, in particular, drew her attention. The great big cart of fire, and the barrel that had a sweet-smelling substance. She watched as a pair of wolves got some for themselves, and once they moved away she approached to investigate. She didn't know what it was, but it smelled good...what was it? She glanced around to see if anyone else was going to get some before she did. She was hesitant, but also her curiosity was driving her forward. Throwing caution to the wind, Tel grabbed a hollowed-out horn and decided to pour some for herself. Once she had a half-full cup, she skittered away like a child running from something they weren't supposed to be doing and she moved to sit by herself as she further investigated. It smelled like berries with a hint of apple...and when she tasted it, it was...sweet. She forgot all about whether or not she was allowed to be here, but nothing mattered more now then the sweet drink she had in front of her.

Sunder had heard about some sort of big to-do happening in the Woods and so naturally he had to check it out. The amount that he'd adapted since coming to Boreas was on full display today as he stepped onto the party grounds. The small dog was decked out in furs, wraps and clothes. He wore layers of the stuff of various patterns, colors and thickness. To top it off he had a makeshift bootie on each foot. All of this was in the name of warmth. The only thing not covered was his face. Adapted, see? He was nice and warm, and eager to get warmer. There had been a promise of drink, yes? Nothing would make him happier or warmer.

His eyes fell on the fire and Sunder knew he was wrong. Furs, drink, and fire. Now that was just what he needed. Greedily the little dog trotted over and parked his butt as close to the fire as he could get without fear of bursting into flame. Only after seating himself did Sunder remember that he'd wanted a drink, but with the fire already warming his back he couldn't bring himself to get up. He paid no attention to the kid fiddling with the harness or anyone else close by. For now this was it. He'd sit here, toasty warm, until things got underway. And then he'd get that drink.
