Today felt promising. Hazel had felt it from the moment she had woken up. She didn't know what was in store or what kind of day it was going to be, but she would not simply be whiling her hours away today. With one final swipe at the roots Hazel turned towards the cold fire pit. Neither creature had meant to let it go out, but the driving snow had snuffed it out while they slumbered. Luckily there was dry wood set aside in the den. "Barnabas, love? Put on some tea, I feel we're going to need it."
Hazel has a female capuchin monkey companion that is with her at all times.
Wandering through the foliage choked woods, it came entirely to the yearling's surprise when he stepped in snow. Before he knew it, he was ankle deep in the stuff. Bicoloured gaze lifted upward, and found the close-knit canopy had given way overhead. He stood in a clearing that seemed completely devoid of the borderline tropical vegetation he'd just been walking through, and instead he was transported home for the briefest moment. The tall trees and the forest floor covered in snow, those were some of his earliest memories. He forced himself to let out the breath he didn't know he'd been holding, a thin cloud of mist escaping his dark nostrils in a long, shuddering sigh. Hallux squawked softly overhead, having taken up a perch on a high branch at the edge of the clearing. The wraith followed the tip of her head towards the tiny wolf at the other end of the clearing, busily working away at clearing snow from their path.
Long limbs pulled him slowly forth, heavy drifts of pristine snow crunching beneath his meagre mass. It was impossible to deny the curiosity that came with happening upon a stranger, though his social skills were still slowly being brought up to par after a youth spent observing from the fringes. "Good morning," he greeted softly, lowering his head to appear less imposing to the diminutive fae. "Do you need any assistance with clearing away the snow?" the godling questioned with a slight tilt of his tapered cranium, pausing a few feet away in the event she decided to chase him off.
