Lorelai crept cautiously from the den, throwing one wayward look over her shoulder at the pile of blue lumps behind her. Surely no one would notice if she slipped out, just for a little bit. She could be super sneaky, and it was time to prove it. Even the smell of her brothers' farting couldn't mask the lingering smell of their Mama, who she missed so much she decided not to think about it at all. She'd go smell something new instead. Wandering out into the sunlit world, the young pup thought for a moment she ought to just lay down right there and take a nap. It was so warm and nice! But being out in the open seemed like maybe a bad place to sleep. She'd heard stories of pups gettin' carried off by all sorts of things, and her Papa wouldn't lie, so it must be true. Better safe than sorry! Lore stuck close to tussocks of grass and low shrubs and she darted between them, way smarter than any stupid hawk would be. This was gonna be fun! "Talk" "Listen" Think

Ulmaria snuggled deeper into the pile, trying to will herself back to sleep but no matter how she tried she just couldn't do it. In some vague way she understood that their mother wasn't returning but it was impossible for her to accept. It just kept playing in her mind, disrupting her sleep. Maybe she should do something else. Ulmaria wrinkled her nose. She needed to go potty. Ulmaria rolled over just in time to see Lorelai sneaking out of the den. "Hey…" she hissed but her sister was well out of ear shot. Maybe Lore also had to pee. Well she didn't want to go pee by herself so maybe she could go with Lore.

Ulmaria scrambled quickly out of the den. It was easy enough to spot her flame colored sister in the green grass and she bounced over to her. "Did you have to go potty to? Can I come with?"

Without a care in the world, Lore busied herself taking in the scenery. It was all she could do to keep from squealing her excitement, but that would be decidedly un-sneaky, and great heroes such as herself wouldn't stoop to such lows. She bit her tongue and held it in... At least until a voice behind her nearly scared her out of her skin. "Did you have to go potty to? Can I come with?" Lorelai turned with a yelp, fur fluffed and paws stumbling as she rounded on her assailant, uncertain if she was miffed or relieved to only see her sister's purple pelt. She let out a big breath, deflating. That had been a close one. Lorelai wasn't sure if Pop was around or not, but wasn't exactly certain this little adventure would be condoned. "... Yeaahhh. Yup. Potty break." She looked wistfully back to the great unknown, and then an idea crawled into her ears. "I actually, uh... I think there's a good place over this way, maybe." Lore had no idea what was over 'this way' but it was better than right there for sure. And if anyone asked... Potty break. A perfect plan. "Talk" "Listen" Think

Ulmaria giggled as she surprised her sister, causing the other girl to fluff up and scramble. Thankfully Lore was going to go potty too. She was relieved… well in one way. They could go together and there was no way a bad guy was going to attack two Regni pups. She fidgeted as Lore said there was a good place over another way. Well… that wasn't where they usually went but she supposed it wouldn't hurt to go somewhere else for once. She wouldn't have to deal with the smell of her brother's big poops. "Ok, let's go. I reaaaalllly gotta go." She bounded forward, not really knowing what she was looking for but at that point the need to go was overwhelming. She scrambled behind a nearby clump of sage brush and quickly relieved herself.

Lore's stubby little tail was held high as she led their intrepid adventuring party further from the den's entrance. It wasn't long before Ulmaria scrambled off to do her business, and wow that was some hustle. She must've really had to go! Lore frowned, considered a moment, then followed her sister's lead behind another bush a few paces away. Might as well get it out of the way now, right? Once her business was over though, a horrible thought came crashing down. Maria would probably say they had to go back to the den now, but... Lorelai really didn't wanna. She huffed, scratched at her ear to vent the bubbling frustration and stood with new resolve. She'd just have to let Ulmaria in on her little plan. Once her sister returned, Lore cast a furtive glance side to side before dropping her voice into a whisper. "Hey, so... Can you keep a secret?" 'Course she could. They were sisters, and sisters watched out for each other. Lorelai plowed on. "I wasn't really out here for a potty break. I wanted to explore a little. Patrol, ya know? Make sure the den is safe, and maybe try'n find some cool bugs. Do you wanna come with me?" She wiggled her eyebrows in as tempting a manner as she could manage. "If anyone asks, we'll just say we were goin' potty!" Hopefully Ulmaria would agree because that would be a lot more fun. And extra hopefully she didn't rat her out, because that... That would not. "Talk" "Listen" Think

Free of her burden she bounded out from behind the bush and over to her larger sister. At the mention of a secret, her ears perked up and she leaned in close to Lore. Hmmm… Ulmaria sat back and thought for awhile on what Lore was saying. She didn't want to get in trouble but now that they were out in the nice sunshine she wouldn't mind exploring, maybe find some plants or something. It wasn't like they were that far from the den and they did have a good excuse to back up their wandering. "Ok, let's do some exploring. Just as long as we don't go too far from the den. No one would believe us going super far out to potty." She started walking when a tall plant with small bunches of white flowers (yarrow) caught her attention. "Oooo Lore come look at this! Look how pretty!" She bounded over to the plant to admire it.

Lorelai wriggled, her tail lashing about behind her with a mind of its own. This was gonna be awesome! Ulmaria set some terms that seemed fair enough, and smart too. They needed to maintain their cover after all. Lore was happy to trail more or less after her sister, letting her eyes drink in all the sights around them, while her nose was almost as busy as her tail was. Her path zigged and zagged from novelty to novelty. Ulmaria called her over to check out a plant with fluffy white flowers perched at its peak, which was at least as interesting as the dried pile of rabbit pellets she'd just discovered. Lore trotted over, blue eyes wide with wonder. A few insects buzzed around the tall plant's flower crown, causing the young red pup to 'ooh' and 'aah' appreciatively. "It is pretty! D'you think it smells nice?" Without waiting for an answer, Lore tried her best to balance up on hind legs to get a little bit closer, only to topple sideways a breath later. "Rats." Not for the first time, Lorelai wished desperately to just be a liiitle bit taller. Was that so much to ask? "Talk" "Listen" Think

Ulmaria watched Lore try to smell the flowers but they were up pretty high and Lore toppled over. Mar giggled and eyed the plant for a little bit longer. Healer's gathered plants and flowers and things. So they had to take the plants back with them some how. Ulmaria stretched out her head and started chewing at the stem of the plant. It was weird and tasted funny but she really liked to chew on things and eventually she chewed enough that the plant tipped over. "Hooray! We'll have to take this back to dad!" Wouldn't he be proud of what they'd found? She grabbed the stem in her teeth and started to drag the plant along the ground as she didn't quite have enough strength to hold the whole thing up by hanging onto only one end.
