But what about the cooties?

Ysmir's visit had been wonderful and rejuvenating and only reinforced how she felt about the silent man, but it also left her with more questions than answers. They had spent most of the few days he was here practicing this new language of sorts that they were making together and the longer they were together the harder it became to ignore the way she felt and what her instincts wanted from her. She wasn't so innocent that she didn't know about things like sex and mating. She obviously had to know at least the physicalities of it and the pregnancies that followed for her knowledge of healing—and the contraceptives to prevent such things as well. But the thought of relationships, romance, and actually acting on those things that she only knew from a medical stand point felt so far beyond her.
If her mother had been here she might have asked her, but when she went down to the beach to see if her and Kane were still there it seemed like they had moved on for some kind of adventure. She started trying to think of who else she could ask for advice and even though Artorias was by far the only other wolf she was really close with the thought of asking him about advice for sex with Ysmir absolutely mortified her. Finally her thoughts landed on her sister. Even though her and Bowen hadn't exactly been super close since she returned to them she felt like Bowen was at the very least more knowledgeable on the subject than herself and hopefully wouldn't judge her too much for asking.
After spending the morning helping some other wolves in the pack that had been collecting and arranging flowers into basins of water for the on going wedding preparations, she started looking for her smaller sister with nervous butterflies flying around like crazy in her stomach. She followed her scent out to the near by plains and found Bowen with the massive tiger she had brought home a few days prior. She gave Bowen a little smile as she walked over to her and immediately she wondered if she could actually bring herself to ask the questions she had, but at this point it would probably be more awkward to make up some other excuse for her to be out here. "Hey, Bowen, um... Could I talk to you for a minute?" she asked with a little glance toward the tiger. As much as she didn't think it would really matter if the big cat was here or not, she still felt like she'd be a little more comfortable if it was just the two of them.

Bowen and Tej had been getting acclimated to one another. She'd purchased him to be her new companion, so they'd been spending time together to learn one another. So far, Bowen felt that they would get along rather well. He was sweet and witty. There was a kindness there as well. Plus the small woman felt very safe when beside the hulking feline. Time would bring them closer together, she imagined.
As the caramel and cream pair rested on the plains, Bowen noted her sister approaching. Russet ears flicked forward as Gwyn spoke and Bo could see the hesitancy in her sister's dark face. Giving a nod to Tej, the big cat excused himself from the gathering and moved back towards the castle. Whatever Gwyn needed to talk about was a matter of privacy, it seemed.
Though they'd never been as close as she and Artorias were, that didn't mean that Bowen didn't love her sister. The smaller fae gave the soft grass beside her a pat, welcoming Gwyn to come lay with her. "What's on your mind, Gwyn?"

Gwynevere gave the large feline an appreciative smile as he got up and moved away from the pair at Bowen’s direction. She hated that even bringing this up to her sister made her so uncomfortable, but there was no denying how nervous and uncertain she felt about the whole thing. She wished she could have even a fraction of her siblings’ confidence. Bowen patted the grass beside her and Gwyn didn’t hesitate to join her. This was why she was here, after all, and a little part of her was just glad to be spending a bit of time with her sister. She couldn’t remember a time when they had actually spent time together since they were pups and it was long overdue.
Her ears flicked uncertainly when Bowen questioned her, a shy smile pulling at her lips as she looked down at the grass between her paws while she fidgeted with it. “Um… I need some… advice.” It would likely be more like instructions and lessons by the time they were done, but advice sounded at least a little bit more like she wasn’t entirely out of her league. “There’s a boy I… that I love.” She almost said that she liked him, but that wasn’t quite right and saying it even just to Bowen felt like a disservice to how deeply she felt about Ysmir. Her face burned hotter as she tried to actually form her questions, picking away at the grass under her paws.
“I’d like to go further with our relationship… physically. I just don’t know how. Well, I mean, I know how, like physiologically, but… How do I initiate things or do anything without feeling so… nervous and awkward? I’m just so afraid I’m going to mess something up or make a fool of myself.” She sighed with a frown, frustrated with her own insecurity and shyness. She had made a lot of progress in the last couple of seasons, mostly with Artorias’ help, but this felt like a hurdle she didn’t know how to even begin climbing. If Bowen could at least show her where the first foothold was maybe she could find a way over it.

Gwyn lay down beside her and the dark woman was obviously nervous. Bowen noted how she toyed with the grass while trying to build the confidence to speak. The smaller fae leaned against her sisters shoulder and lifted one foreleg to wrap it over Gwyn's, turning her paw so that their pads were touching. A half embrace and a little silliness to try and soothe Gwyn's nerves. The mint-eyed fae stumbled over her words a bit, but eventually she began to speak. Russet ears moved to catch every word and Bowen couldn't help the small smile that began on her face. Gwyn was in love!
In time, Gwyn arrived at her issue; the reason that she needed advice. Bowen gave her sister's foreleg a little squeeze of reassurance. "I'm so glad that you've found someone, Gwyn. Of course I'll help however I can." The small fae was quick to add, "I can't wait to meet him, by the way." Bowen was eager to see the kind of man that had ensnared her sweet, demure sisters attentions. It had to be someone terribly special.
It seemed that Gwyn was worried about embarrassing herself or making the wrong moves, thus making her feel the fool. Bowen gave a soft chuckle. "Gywn, if you love him and he loves you, nothing that you do should make you feel foolish. No one starts out being the perfect lover, you know? You and..." Ah, she didn't even know the man's name! Bowen looked to her sister and when Gwyn told her the brute's name, she continued. "You and Ysmir will be learning together. You're so lucky." Again Bo smiled. The pair of lovers would develop together, learning one another and what they liked and didn't like. "Being open and honest is the key."

Gwynevere glanced at her sister's paw as it slipped around her foreleg and caught her paw so that their paw pads were pressed together, forcing her to stop fiddling nervously as she got up the courage to speak her mind. She shifted her mint and lavender gaze up to Bowen for a moment with a grateful smile while her face flushed with embarrassment. She knew there was no reason to feel so nervous about something like this, especially at their age, but it seemed like she was always just a little bit behind her siblings in this area of things. She might have excelled in her academic pursuits and taken on a lot of responsibility at a young age in terms of caring for the pack and the well being of its members, but in her personal life and the progression of her relationships she was severely lagging. Bowen didn't show any signs of judgement or even amusement as she revealed her concerns and for that Gwyn was thankful.
She appreciated Bowen's reassurances and the eagerness she seemed to have over meeting the boy in question, pulling a smile across Gwyn's face and making her nod in agreement. Hopefully the next time that Ysmir was able to visit she would get to introduce him to the rest of the family. His introduction to Art had gone surprisingly well and she knew that their brother would by far be the toughest critic so she didn't think that anyone else would have issue with the quiet man. Gwyn listened like the attentive student she was as Bowen assured her that as long as she and Ysmir loved each other that there was nothing that should make her feel foolish. It sounded so simple when Bowen described it like that, but it felt much more insurmountable in her mind. "Ysmir," she answered with a shy smile as her sister prompted for his name. She hadn't really considered the fact that all of this would be new to Ysmir as well, at least she assumed that it would be, so that they would be learning together. Any mistakes she might make he was just as likely to make so maybe her nervousness really was entirely unfounded.
She also hadn't thought of herself as lucky to be going through all of this, but everyone had to have a first time sometime she supposed. She smiled again as Bowen insisted that being open and honest was the key and Gwyn gave another nod. Her sister helped her see past all the nerves and get to the real truth of things on the other side. It was all things she could have maybe figured out herself if she could get past her own shyness, but she was glad that her sister was here to point her in the right direction regardless. "I know you're right, I'm just nervous. We've kissed a couple of times, but... that's it so I don't even know how to... initiate anything." Her face flushed again as she giggled softly, her tail wagging gently against the grass. "Is there anything that guys just generally like? Or find... attractive?" She was hopelessly clueless about these things, feeling more like a pup that just discovered boys weren't all that gross than a full grown adult.

Bo was happy that she got a few smiles out of her sister who had been so nervous only moments before. Though they weren't the closest of siblings, that was at no fault of Gwyn's. Bowen was hard to get along with, though she didn't try to be. She was kind of reclusive and stuck to herself. This conversation made her feel quite bad about that and she would make a point to do better for Gwyn. Rudy too.
Her dark sister blushed a bit, asking about how to initiate and what guys liked. Bowen's brows lifted and she inhaled deeply. "That's difficult to say," she began. "Just like you and I have different tastes, so do guys. Since Ysmir is a beginner like you, I imagine leading with kissing and caressing would do the trick." Bo curled on her hip so that she could face her sister rather than be pressed up beside her. "Nibbling is nice too. Get him on his back. Start at his cheek, work your way down his neck, his belly," The young woman shot her sibling a devilish grin, "And if you're feeling brave, lower still."
Having this talk with her sister made Bowen realize how long ago she'd lost her own innocence. She was a practiced lover by now. Had she not been taken, would she have been as innocent as her sweet sister? "Trust him and hopefully he trusts you. Do what you feel is right and what makes you feel good." Bowen winked and grinned again. "Don't be afraid to be a little adventurous. And if you ever need advice, don't be afraid to ask." The woman raised her brows and shook her head, directing her gaze elsewhere almost comically. "Nothing is too taboo for me, obviously."
