Wounds So Fresh
Mojito

Both she and Indigo had mingled for a time, then his attention was pulled away by a woman who claimed that her mother knew him. Asla excused herself and slipped from the castle, needing a bit of fresh air and a moment away from the massive crowd that had come to wish her sister and Artorias well. So many wolves had shown up for both the wedding and the tournament. It was quite the show. She was happy for her sister and was enjoying the time spent with her, but already she was wishing that she was on her way back to Elysium where things were much more quiet.
Evening was falling and the sky was awash in pink, gold and orange. The closer that the sun drifted to the horizon, the more the colors shifted to purple. Asla had moved around the side of the castle and was looking out over the sea. The salty breeze that had kept them cool during the ceremony was still doing its thing and it ruffled the fae's fawn and grey coat. The woman's galactic eyes closed and she breathed deeply of the briny air. It really had turned out to be a perfect day for Briar.
The sound of paws swishing through the grass brought the woman's head turning ever so slightly. Asla's gaze landed on none other than Mojito, former lover and father to her child. There were still some uneasy feelings between them, she knew, but the woman was in a very calm, serene mood, so perhaps now was the time to talk it out. "Hey, Mo," she spoke softly, then patted the grass beside her with one paw, asking him to come and sit.

Mojito knew that if he wanted to be true to his word, to properly be in his daughter's life he would have to finally come to grips with his relationship with Asla. At the very least he had to be willing to talk to her, and luckily, or unluckily for him depending on how you looked at it, for him it seemed the cream woman wanted to talk as well. Mojito knew she was here with her brother, they'd been properly invited he was simply here for a get together and the tournament but he hadn't really bumped into either much, they were obviously here, it was nearly impossible to miss Indigo even in a crowd...
Mojito wandered his way around the bottom floor of the castle, he couldn't hep but keep an eye out for Satoru, he didn't know what the man's exact position was in the Armada but it seemed that the only ways they could bump into each other was at public events like this... Mojito hoped he wouldn't be disappointed and that he might get to see the speckled man again. But it wasn't his svelte tones that reached Mojito's ears, which perked slightly and the man turned bright blues onto Asla. She was gesturing for him to join her and Mojito hesitated for a moment... But just a moment.
He settled himself beside her, a familiar ache rising in him. Ah... So he wasn't over her totally yet. "They look good together." He said softly, gesturing towards where the bride and groom were socializing with a wolf he didn't recognize. It was... Well it was awkward, he didn't really know what to say but he didn't want to just sit in silence either.
Some part of Mojito ached at the thought that he'd never get to have that... A nice wedding with friends and family around to celebrate with. Mojito wasn't one to be pessimistic about his burgeoning feelings for Satoru but he knew well enough that there would be few wolves who would even bother to show up for him. Not for the first time Mojito felt very... Alone...

At first, Asla wasn't sure if Mojito was going to come to her. She noted the hesitation in his stance as he took a breath, considering. She couldn't blame him. They didn't exactly have the greatest track record, now did they? Eventually, the flop-eared brute came and settled down beside her. The scarred fae gave him a smile, then looked back towards the castle as he spoke. The tawny fae laughed, giving her head a light shake. "She's my sister. Anyone would look good beside her." A joke, of course, but she was just trying to lighten the mood. Mojito was always so somber.
"It's a pretty awkward affair in there." A sigh pulled from the woman and she shrugged. "I needed a breather." Her estranged family, all of them, were inside milling about. Aslatiel wasn't uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable would have meant that she felt she was in the wrong somehow. It was just awkward to pretend that so many wolves in a crowd didn't exist. Indigo was still in there with them and she was sure that he'd soon have enough just as she had.
The woman's galactic gaze lowered, looking at her paws and her voice became softer. "Satira will be grown soon." Come summer, their daughter would officially be considered an adult, though she would always be their baby girl. "I wanted to apologize for how I acted during our last conversation. I was hurt, but I wasn't fair to you." Asla lifted her galactic gaze to meet the blue eyes of the man beside her. "Can you forgive me, Mo?"
