A solitary figure move along the shadows that engulfed the Garden like ironically the mouth of a wolf, but bright enough for her good night vision to let her move through without being lost, besides her smell and hearing would never falter her unless they were removed at all. Winter's claws brought chill and snow but that never bothered the woman, nothing did beside cowards and weaklings. Eyes as cold as the ice lurked through the apparent emptiness. But she wasnt here to just watch the view, she was here to hunt. Anything really. But she was no stupid, as between her jaws she carried wood, wood she was planning to use to make spears out of them. But first she needed a target. There was no hunt without a victim.

Quiet steps brought her to a trail, from an elk. She followed it until she saw a group of three. All cows. Eye narrowed as her mind began to form a plan. Lowering her body she aimed to walk against the wind to mask her scent, and as she got behind the group she began to dig, hopping to make a hole on it and then start doing her vicious and hopefully effective enough trap.

Merrick said nothing as he came upon the scene of the brindled woman digging a hole. He knew her. Or knew of her, at least. Not that he spoke to anyone in the pack, really. That was Keelin's job to keep up appearances. He spoke to his sister, his niece and nephew, his mate and that was about it. Still, when he noticed that the woman was apparently digging a pit for a trap, the violet and obsidian man decided to help just for the sake of killing something.

Moving forward, the giant brute's wide, taloned paws cut through the frozen earth much easier than normal paws might. With him there, they would make short work of digging the pit. She should be thanking him, really. Without his power and skill, she would have been scraping at the cold earth for hours. He was a savior, a saint. She was lucky to have him around.

"Merrick Mendacium"

The ex-mercenary was also in the desire to kill, but this time kill with more than just the wish but to send food to her always growing pack. So many to feed out lately, she didnt eat too much so she knew the blame was to be placed upon her but well, she was either way working her ass to help out, more to keep herself in rather than an actual worry about them. All was out of familial bonds, at least from her.

As she did her things, her mismatched gaze landed in an extra pair of paws, deformed ones. She knew who's, but instead of saying or reacting at it, she simply stopped to now grab one of the spears and sink one by one into the ditch, wanting the sharp end upwards. If this worked she could see a blood bath on the way.

Merrick continued to dig, pulling up loads of earth and stacking it on the sides of the pit. Imperia was jumping the gun by shoving the spikes in now, but he said nothing about it. This was her plan. He was just helping. The big man allowed her to push the stakes into the turned dirt as he jumped up and out of the pit. Big paws shoveled snow over the discarded earth, covering up the dark dirt with pale snow so that it didn't stick out like a sore paw.

Without waiting for Imperia to get out of the pit, Merrick started flinging snow around, covering up the edges and the bottom of the pit as well so that it didn't just look like a big, dark hole. Whatever they were hunting would see the hole and try to avoid it if possible. If they covered it, then it would be less likely to be noticed until it was too late.

"Merrick Mendacium"

She wasnt used to work with others, as an assassin and former killer she always did her dirty work alone, no one cared about her and she didnt care about them, simple. But since she joined her cousin here, she was forced to change that, harder than she wanted but well. This wouldnt be the first time she worked with Merrick, as so time ago both brought down a bear, and now a hunt. She didnt want to admit it but she didn't mind him helping here. Nor anywhere. He placed them at a good distance from each other to make them as deadly as possible, she wanted them dead fast enough to aboid injuries to herself. But as she just ended placing the last spike, she felt snow and dirt being tossed over her back, grunting she jumped out of the hole with some of the muck on her frame but well, getting dirty wasnt a big deal. Now with the trap hidden and ready it was time for the practical side of the operation. Now they needed to pick the target, she eyed the group of Elk, seeking weakness in any of them. "We kill the weakest." She said shortly to the point.

Merrick continued covering up the dirt with snow, smoothing out the remainder as best as he could to make things look less conspicuous. Imperia jumped out of the hole and he paid her no mind, instead continuing his work until he decided that it looked good enough. If they did their jobs properly, they'd run their prey right into the hole without much trouble.

Giving his coat a shake, Merrick padded towards Imperia, looking through the foliage to see what she had in mind. Her words brought a soft huff of amusement as he looked towards the elk. It was a pitfall. They could realistically push more than on in there, but if she wanted to target the weakest, then they would. From where he stood, only one elk looked as though it might be injured. A big doe had a swollen hock. Likely an old injury that was still healing. She would fall to the back of the herd most likely. Merrick shrugged, lifted one paw, and motioned for Imperia to lead the way.

"Merrick Mendacium"

Words werent needed as both seemed to have a faint similarity on how they saw the world, at least when it came to bring death and seek blood. She nodded and began to move hiddenly through the snow, she had a coat that made it hard to seen more like trees in snow. Like a shadow she moved to the front of the herd, setting her eyes into the cow with the swollen foot. And there she began to run towards making the group break in fear and panic infected every animal, and that was her wish. And as soon as they ran, the weaker one was easily left behind, quickly she snapped her jaws aiming to drive it to the trap, hoping the larger wolf would help.

It was time for the game of life and death, one she had taken part all of her life.

The violet giant yawned and shook out his coat, giving his big body a stretch before following along behind the striped fae. She didn't waste any time and leaped from cover to chase after the elk. Merrick followed suit, massive paws thundering across the earth as he made his way towards their target. The rest of the elk scattered, fleeing the pair of predators. That was just fine. They didn't need any of them.

Merrick snapped his jaws at the heels of the wounded elk, keeping pace with her as the pair ran her through the jagged rocks and towards the awaiting pit. It wouldn't be much longer and if everything went according to plan, there would soon be fresh meat available.

"Merrick Mendacium"

White legs worked to keep up with the panicked beast, jaws close with their feet. Ears pinned and head lowered she was fully into the hunt, tail up for balance as she felt the snow and dirt erupt from the elk's racing legs, some colliding against her face, but that wouldnt be enought to drive her away, nothing did when she had her mind into something, even death. Even pain. As she lived only to make other's lives the worst, bring destruction and cruelty to those who had given her their back. Never in her life others showed love or interest in her existence and all she saw was filt and indifference towards every single living being.

As both big canids rested at the hills of the prey, she did one last snap and stopping on her own tracks she witnessed as the elk fell head on into the spears, now them staved into the ribcage and legs. Now it was only to give the ending blow.

Merrick ran alongside the elk, snapping and snarling to keep it riled up and on the move. More than once the elk tried to cut away from the two wolves but the big brute kept pace, pushing the cow back on path. They rounded a natural curve in the landscape and Merrick could see the pit up ahead. It wouldn't be long now. He pushed the elk even harder towards the spike pit.

The elk saw the pit at the last minute and tried skidding to a halt. Merrick leaped, slamming his bulk into the rear of the cow. That was all that it took. The elk flew into the pit, slamming down on top of the spikes, effectively skewering itself. The beast squealed and flailed, but its life would soon be extinguished. All they had to do was either wait for it to die or finish it off.

It was over, soon as she had wanted it to be. She didnt want to be in this the whole night but knowing hunts didnt take minutes she did her best to keep her usual impatience at bay, knowing emotions could stand on her way. As Merrick pushed the elk into the pit, it was technically over for the beast, jaws opened and soon she aimed to bite on the back of it's neck taking the chance of it aiming to get out but meeting the sharp end of her fangs instead. And soon from blood lose it died. Leaving a blood mess in the place and in her face. Well this seemed to be her common look, like in the festival. But she cared not. "Thanks," She said shortly as she would now process the meat.

With the elk impaled, Merrick leaped carefully into the pit, holding the struggling ungulate down as Imperia bit into its throat, ending its life. The big deer soon bled out and stilled. Merrick pulled the stakes out of its body one by one and threw them up into the snow. He then latched his jaws around the neck of the elk and with all of his brute strength, pulled it up and out of the hole. With jerking motions, the dire wolf had the elk up and on the clean snow away from the pit. The rest of it would be for Imperia to deal with. She thanked him and the violet and black brute rumbled in response before shaking out his thick coat and making his way back towards the mountain.
