Pup lesson!

He felt like it was only yesterday that he was setting up an entertaining lesson for his own pups and yet somehow they were all grown and now he was tasked with training his newest nephews and niece. It was wild how fast time was flying by and he was eager to make the most of it now that they were all fully settled in their new home and the pups were big enough to start working on some finer motor skills and real fighting techniques. They were still very young, of course, so he wanted to make sure they would have fun as well, but it was always better to start training early and often instead of trying to retrain and work out bad habits later in life. They had all shown very a very good aptitude for fighting already, which he would certainly expect from his sister's brood, so he was excited to see what they would do with what he had planned for them today.
Plague picked out a place in the ravine that had a fairly open clearing where there would be enough space for them all to move freely without worry of bumping into one another. After setting up a few pup-sized training dummies and leaving a pile of soft, stuffed balls made of hide and filled with wool off to the side, Plague took a seat in the middle of the clearing and lifted his head to howl for the pups to come join him. While he wasn't usually as nocturnal as his sister, he knew the pups were on her clock so he had waited until a couple hours after sundown to call for them, figuring he would likely catch them well after they had woken up and had eaten their breakfast but before they had run off too far or gotten into any other shenanigans. He smiled a bit and waited for them to join him, his emerald gaze peering out through the trees and underbrush to watch for the young Kleins.

Plague was correct, Ren was already half way to his next adventure, with his little owl cuddled against his neck and Revolver the ocelot at his side. The prince knew that his cat would never be as big as he was, but sometimes it felt like they were the same size. He sure knew how to wrestle like a full size wolf pup. The three of them were thick as thieves, with Ren and Rev bold and boisterous, the little owl Minerva was sweet, quiet, and timid. But she was always watching, and never missed anything. To Ren’s usual detriment. He couldn’t ever lie while she was on his shoulder, like a little golden angel.
For a brief moment after he heard the call summoning himself and his siblings, Ren debated about ignoring his uncle. The young prince had plans to see to! He couldn't argue very much when the little owlet poked him with her talons, reminding him that there was indeed accountability to remember. He huffed and rolled his eyes, but he turned his path and headed back towards the ravine.
Revolver raced ahead of him and burst through the foliage right before Ren tumbled into the lesson. His lavender gaze widening as he took in the classroom that Plague devised. He quickly forgot about whatever he had planned for the night as he slowly padded to his spot, giving his uncle a curious glance as he poked at the fighting dummy.

Rampage had rushed through his food with plans to race off and find something to capture his interest. There was still plenty of terrain to do a more careful study of with all manner of secrets to be found. The boy hadn’t wasted time in starting to run off but then the call came for the kids to gather. Rampage slowed to a walk then stopped. There was a big fun unknown world he still didn’t know well enough but here was their uncle calling for them.
Well, there would surely still be time to explore and curiosity nagged at him to see what their uncle had planned. Turning about the quilled boy ran towards his uncle’s call. Once he was getting close the boy slowed down, moving into more of a prancing gait so he didn’t appear overly rushed as he came into sight. There was no shortage of pride in the young Klein, keen to always show off that assured arrogance that he truly was that awesome. Someday he’d grow larger, hopefully as big as Dad, and then he’d be able to really prove it.
As their training field came into view the brown pup's eyes rounded some with keen excitement. This looked like promising fun! Rampage stalked towards the balls, eyeing them as self-control battled the desire to play with the fun-looking toys. His gaze pulled away with effort to look up at Plague and then over where Ren sat. Right, right. Trotting over to where Ren sat Rampage took his time, gracefully sitting down with shoulders rolled up and head tilting up ever so slightly to look at their uncle. Still, the tail behind him wagged with the contained excitement, a few of the quills softly clicking against each other. “What are the balls for?” There were dummies also, they also promised fun in some fashion but the balls were more of an unknown factor in this.

As soon as the sun went down, Rogue was sprinting out the door of the old palace, leaping and bounding through the starry evening with excited yaps and barks. The young Klein prince hated being cooped up, doubly so now that they were allowed loose around Ashen lands. He just wanted to spend all his time exploring and playing and lording over his family’s domain! Tonight he had plans to sniff about the lake territory and see what trouble he could get into when a call from his uncle rang out through the forested ravine, summoning him and his siblings for a lesson. Rogue pouted, his nose scrunching up in disdain. Aw man, another lesson? He hated all these boring lessons they were having to get! Why couldn’t they just be allowed to do whatever they wanted?
For a moment, Rogue considered just ignoring his uncle’s call, weighing his options and how much trouble he might be in if he snuck off and pretended to not hear Plague. In the end, the midnight-hued prince breathed a sigh of defeat and turned toward the call. Guess exploring would have to wait til later… Making his way less enthusiastically through the nighttime woods, Rogue eventually emerged to find his brothers already there with Plague. But what he also saw peaked his interest. Dummies like the kind he saw Ashen’s warriors training with were set up and waiting. Rogue’s head lifted, curious amethyst eyes peering about as he came up to join his brothers. "Hi, Uncle Plague. What are we doing today?" he asked their de facto teacher for the evening, wondering if maybe he’d get to destroy something as a consolation prize for his time.
