It had been awhile since he had seen the black sandy beach he considered to be his home. He hadn’t realized how much he had actually missed the distant crash of waves until he heard them echoing in the distance. It brought him a sense of serenity, and it was the perfect end to a half-a-season-long adventure. In the end, he had ended up returning alone- Sephiran having explained he had one last thing to accomplish before he could make the trip back, himself. Feeling confident in his traveling companion’s ability to care for himself, Aresenn didn’t hesitate in making the return trip a solo one. And everything had gone smoothly, or at least until he crossed the border into Pirate territory.
He had been home all of a few minutes before he saw a flash of movement above. Aresenn immediately recognized his father’s cockatoo, and had a pretty good idea as to what it wanted before it spoke. The feathered companion indicated that his presence was being demanded deep within the caverns. With a ragged sigh, he reluctantly shifted his course to go meet with the unholy sin himself. The Praetor boy had spent most of his trip home recounting the various situations he had been put in over the past few weeks. He knew he would have a lot to answer to when he returned home, though he still hadn’t quite figured out where to start.
It wasn’t as difficult finding his way through the back of the caverns the second time as it was the first. Though the dimly lit path, was every bit as ominous. His sire’s scent hung heavy in the thick, damp air, though he didn’t immediately see him in the dim lighting. So without speaking, he took position in the center of the deepest cavern, awaiting in silence to be addressed.
