Astraios wasn’t one to shy away from danger, but that didn’t mean he was happy doing so. The grumpy young wolf followed the strange lights and the tips of the great spires that led the way. Investigating the strange new occurrence that seemed to have shaken the land. Delphi insisted on going with him, and while her safety was important to him, he’d never been one to stop her. They arrived at the strange land, and were able to look at the strange, spiked pillars. He sneered at their weathered stone as he passed them. “Any… speculations?” He asked, turning back to look at his mate. "Delphi" & "Strai"

Danger was indeed Delphi's middle name. She had wanted to start the adventure when the tremors began, but the night had been too dark, too thick, to venture out in. As soon as dawn rose in a hue of reds over the horizon, Delphi was practically pull Strai's tail to go check it out. Safe or not, she wanted an excuse to get away.

Upon approach of the spires, she glances at Strai, one brow raised before giving him a shrug. "Could be anything," she replies before trotting ahead of him toward the nearest spire. "There's something etched into toward the bottom though," Delphi calls over her shoulder, eyes bright and excited as she trails her paw over the terrified appearing face traced into the metal.

The last time strange things had happened, there had been worms involved. Astraios wasn’t about to forget his experience with the worm any time soon. They arrived at the spires beneath the blood moon and took a moment to look around and investigate. He wasn’t really expecting anything insightful from Delphi. He knew she was as clueless as he was. She did however notice something at the bottom of the nearest spire, and he stepped closer to see if he could make anything out. It wasn’t anything that made sense to him… he glanced over to Delphi to see if she understood it any better. “Should we go further in?” he asked her softly "Delphi" & "Strai"

Delphi was good at hiding her interior feelings. Not many knew how she truly felt beneath the surface, but she had a feeling that Strai could always see right through her veil. So even now, as she crouches to gently caress the carving on the spire, she doesn't try to hide the shiver of fear that runs down her spine. When Strai finally speaks up, Delphi startles, her fur raising up and eyes flying wide. Whirling around to look at him, she smiles sheepishly before taking a look around at the other spires. "When have we ever said no to trouble?" Her smile widens into a playful as she jumps up, shaking off the nervousness. Moving to dance between Strai's legs, she keeps close as they continue to explore deeper into the land... "Delphi" & "Strai"

Strai hadn’t expected to startle her. It had been a long while since he’d been able to sneak up on her. But it was something about this place, this land. It had them on edge, though neither easily spoke of fear. Instead, she grinned at him, and her words had him snorting. “Never.” he agreed easily. She darted between her legs, and kept going. He jumped to catch up with her, his long legs easily swallowing the distance. He tried to ignore the way the wind howled through the strange stone spikes. “Bet you wouldn’t carve something on one of the spires…” he dared her as they walked. "Delphi" & "Strai"

It seemed that each passing hour, the wailing of the wind grew louder. Not that it felt any harsher against her fur, but the noise of the cries pierced her ears. And though she was on edge, clear by the way Strai was easy to startle her, she didn't stop. Didn't turn away from the danger. Even when Strai dared her to carve something on the spire, Delphi stops, mulling it over before shrugging. "What's the worse that could happen?" Delphi smirks, hiding her uncertainty with a facade of bravado. Marching over to the closest spire, she reaches out with a sharpened claw and begins attempting to carve something into the rusty metal. "Delphi" & "Strai"

For as long as Delphi was willing to press on, he would follow. They moved deeper into the land, notting the occasional scribble or carving in the stone. The softness in earth between them, and the odd red glow that lit everything beneath the red sun. His suggestion sparked her interest, and he raised a brow at her words. “Now you’ve done it” He teased. Who said such a thing when they were in the thick of? He would, but that’s besides the point. He watched as she marched over to a spire, and reached out a claw. He leaned forward, ready to grab Delphi on the off chance something did go wrong. "Delphi" & "Strai"

All that happens is her dull nail making an ugly screech noise that doesn't matter that of the wails in the air. Her ears flatten against her head, eyes squishing closed as she grimaces and pulls her paw away. "Okay so they're too hard to scratch," she comments as her expression smooths aside from the scrunch of her brow. Moving her face closer to the spire, Delphi inspects the smooth, rusted metal closely. The carvings were definitely made by someone, they didn't appear to be from erosion.

"What if there's more down below?" Delphi calls out over her shoulder to Strai.

Strai relaxed his steady stance when, after the round revibrated around them, nothing happened. He wiggled into place beside her smaller frame instead. Looking down at the pictograph that had her attention. “You think the spires go down further?” He asked, thinking it over. There was a sense to it. They seemed to have come out of the earth of the first place. Perhaps they hadn't come all the way.


He started to dig near the space of the spire, trying to uncover more of the drawings, or really anything else of interest. What did the spires look like beneath the dirt? How hard down did they go? So he dug, as Delphi had suggested.

The sudden nearness of Strai has her exhaling in relief. Even if their surroundings were utterly terrifying, it was comforting to know he was so close to help keep her safe. Not that she couldn't hold her own! Delphi definitely need anyone... Nope...

Actually, she had other things to think about. As Strai started digging, clumps of dirt flying far behind him, she continued to look closer at the metal. "Are these... symbols?" She says in a hushed tone, her eyes glancing over the markings seen below the screaming faces. It was hard to focus what with the heightened wailing around them, but she tried to ignore it. Tried to make out if any of these weird shapes in the metal were anything she recognized.
