She was running low on some of her stocks. Particularly, the not so helpful kind of herbs. Well...helpful to her. Not so much for those she used them on. She decided to begin her search out in the nearby basin, but she had waited till the sun started to go down because she was not at all keen on walking around under the intense heat of the sun. This summer had already proven difficult, killing half of the garden she had worked so hard to grow. Now she was going to have to start over on most of it, and she had yet to start a mushroom farm in the Gorge...though perhaps soon. Mushrooms were likely easier to grow and farm. They weren't very picky about their surroundings, now were they? Trekking across the ground with her makeshift pack, crimson gaze remained peeled for the little white Yarrow flowers she wanted. They were usually abundant here, but now with the baking sun, it seemed most had wilted away and so she was sure she'd have to look extra hard this time. Perhaps near bushes where it was more shady? "Speak"

he spotted her a little late on his way back from grabbing some cannabis not too far from insomnia. a trip he took to increase his own stash, his pouch full and evident of the herb. but he pauses to see what the other herbalist was to. one he knew by the alias 'Rou'. she seemed busy and he didn't want to intrude on her own projects but he felt less inclined to ignore her. perhaps she could school him on some things? he aimed to turn this into a situation that benefitted him and more than anything, to better acquaint himself with her.

so he came forward with his hanging satchel on his back, choosing to sit near rou had she allowed it. in the same pack, he had little to worry about. but he would admit to not knowing much about medusa's previous children yet this one really embodied her mother's looks. truly, it was an odd feeling to see one of medusa's children near his own age or older. a flick of his ear was all it would be given as he paid no more mind to the obvious. instead, a smile plastered on his maw as he set down his pouch, his eyes coming to look at rou's with light interest. "Looking for something? Perhaps I can help.." his smooth voice casually said. "If you educate me on it further."

She sighed as she continued her search for the herb she so highly sought. Cursing the summer sun under her breath. She was growing irritated beneath the baking sun, annoyed she was having trouble finding an herb she usually didn't have trouble finding. Ah, but luck would be on her side it seemed, as the familiar form of Erebos arrived, coming to sit nearby as she scented the air in an effort to pinpoint any Yarrow in the area. Her gaze turned to the larger male as he asked his question. She knew little of him on a personal level, but knew enough to know he was his mothers mate. To most, perhaps it would be strange considering the age gap, but the Mortems were a strange family, so it didn't matter to her. Old. Young. Dead...she didn't care. "I'm looking for Yarrow. Fairly common...usually. But it seems the summer heat has crippled the population here." HEr voice was tinged with annoyance as she looked around. "Small clustered white flowers on a longer stalk, good for many things...bleeding, fever, inflammation...it's been rumored to have been used as contraceptive as well. It has many more uses, too." That's why she was so set on finding it. It was a common yet incredibly diverse herb for medicine. Her lips curled up into a grin then as she looked at him, crimson gaze piercing. "In greater quantities, can also be used as a poison." She stated. Another reason she wanted to find more of it. "Speak"

yarrow was on the menu, and as he listened, he understood the frustration she had. it was a commoner plant but perhaps the scorching sun withered it gone. so maybe a shaded part was bound to have some? with a flick of his tail, Érebos lifted and stood again with his nose to the ground as he inspected for it. that was until he perked up to look at her when she mentioned poison. "Really?" it had been clear he didn't know such a thing. harvesting enough could do that? had rou been interested in the dark uses of plants as he was? sedatives and whatnot.. "It should be easy to find no doubt. At least with a pair of noses now." his interested rose, peaking as he paused for a moment before returning to look for the dainty plant. "Here, under the trees." he found something promising, a sign of them by a little leaf that grew.

She nodded at his query about the Yarrow. It was a common thing she liked to have in her stock, but this heat...she sighed as she continued her search for it, even her companions had taken off to help search for the damn things! She did hope, however, that he was right. Maybe the frustration that came off her in waves was clouding her senses a bit. She moved away in the other direction as she continued her search, and low and behold, it seemed Erebos had found something. Lifting her head, she followed his lead and spotted the familiar white flowers in the near distance. Practically hidden near the foliage. "Ah!" She hurried over, circling the herb once before moving the leaf litter away. "At last, found you!" She exclaimed before checking it over. There was a decent bit here, a little more than she needed. "Be careful when digging them out. All parts of it can be useful, depending on what you want to do with it." She carefully started to dig at the base of one cluster to expose the roots before plucking the stalks from the ground and laying it to the side. She hummed as she worked, ear twitching as she listened for Erebos. "Speak"

he was right, and it felt good to be. he grew more knowledgeable every day, learning more and more as a healer. soon, he aspired to be a doctor of some sort. learning the body and what it needed to be healthy. it would come in handy in the near times, that much he knew. "Of course. isn't that the first rule on being a herbalist?" he chuckled, playful as he went to follow in with her harvest. his eyes content and face relaxed as he helped her gather the the yarrow. first, taking the stems and carefully clipping the flower.

he moved to her side now, coming to look t her face as he asked, "What else do you need?" maybe she needed more herbs and he was more than happy to help.
