It was interesting to see how different regions of the land stayed the same or changed with different seasons. The west had quite a few terrains, some that got covered with snow in winter but blistering hot in summer. This region though, barely got any snow or cold temperatures, no, this spot was warmer, humid even. Kovu would stand at the river's bank, copper gaze looking to the other side, watching a few birds flying down to get a drink then zoom off. Just watching them would cause his stomach to growl, a low rumbling growl forming in he back of his throat. The beast needed to feed before continuing on with his search, so he would turn and begin making his way along the river, downstream.

Magnus like it here, the vast open space, the flowing rivers, the sea. Sometimes he would follow the rivers right down to where they became one with the sea. This particular day he had wandered out here purely because he was bored. Aurora was out patrolling the borders, and Song was away with her mate. They were really the only ones he knew in Ludicael. Sure he knew the Alpha, but Jupiter wasn't exactly the sort you ask for a friendly chat. He followed the river downstream for a while. After about ten minutes a speck came into view. It was another male. A russet and brown one. He picked up his pace hoping to catch up with him. The male was only walking, so with Magnus using a light trot, he caught up. He slowed down to a walk as he came up beside him. Hello there, he asked and he stopped, wanting to see if he would completely ignore his attempt at conversation or stop.

His mind would drift, thinking about the old days with his brother. The kingdom they pry from their parents dead bodies, and the fools who didn't suspect a thing. It was very amusing for the brute, and he was surprised they went unnoticed for so long before something was done about them. Even then, the brothers managed to slip away right under their noses.

An ear would flick at the sound of footsteps approaching. Kovu was no fool, he wouldn't completely zone out and leave himself open to someone, he was always paying attention. Within seconds the footsteps grew closer, and the scent flowed right into his nose, a male... possibly belonging to a pack. Rather than get too close the man would stop, greeting the brute.

Kovu would come to a stop, his head turning, copper eyes running over the male with little to no interest. It wasn't till after a few moments of silence did he finally meet the man's gaze, a bored look on his face or rather numb. "Hm." He would grunt, giving a flick of his tail before turning his whole body to face the river, plopping himself down on his rear, gaze focused on the waters.

As the man came to a stop, Magnus looked to him. He was a strange mis-match of colours. [As he processed what Magnus had just said, a little pause later. He got a reply, but he was disappointed, Hm. was all he got out of him. Well you aren't the most talkative of people now are you? He only wanted to say hello. It was rather awkward, Magnus only looked at him for a while before he figured out the next thing he could say. So, erm, well what brought you out here- Well I don't know your name so... he looked to him and waited for a reply. I'll go first if you want, I'm Magnus Bane, and you are? he asked and waited patiently for a reply.

Conversing wasn't his thing, Kovu was meant to stand back and observe, step forward when force was needed or a job had to be done. Baxter was the one who would talk, getting others wrapped around his paw. The brute never really understood why, but he wouldn't question his brother.

He would sit there on the bank, copper eyes narrowing as he searched beneath the service for the scaled creatures people called fish. He had seen them quite a few times but never actually took a moment to stop and catch them to snack on, no, him and Baxter took down much large prey that was delicious and gave you a nice work out.

It wasn't long before the other male spoke up once again, asking what brought him here then bringing up how he didn't know his name... An ear would swivel to the side, head turning an inch or two so he could glance towards the white wolf. A brow would raise in question, waiting for what he had to say, the only emotion he would show so far. He introduced himself as Magnus Bane, and asked who he was...

It would appear that this was the type of wolf that liked to talk to others, so the brute thought, what the hell, and would speak a bit more than he usually did. "Magnus Bane..." His raspy voice would repeat, head lifting so he could look up to the sky. "Kovu Karvichi, lookin for my bro." Never one to get excited over something, the brute's tone was full of boredom, but he would look back towards the male for a few seconds before looking to the river and motioning towards it. "You fish?"

The man had a rough, raspy voice, almost like he didn't use it very often. He introduced himself as Kovu. So he was looking for his brother, gods knew where his brothers and sister were. He had left them at a year and a half old. He hoped to find them some day, but he doubted it. They might even be dead, and that would have been it. If they died, that would be everyone from his past that he loved gone, dead. Like candles, snuffed out by the wind. "You fish?" he wasn't the best fisher, he was built more for the chase. But he was half decent at fishing. "It's not my specialty, but yeah, I can." he looked to the other male, awaiting his answer.

The man would tell Kovu that fishing wasn't his specialty but he could do it, which made another question pop into the male's head. "Have technique?" He would turn his head to look at Magnu once again, a brow raised, but after a few seconds he would turn away, orbs looking up the river for a spot where he could catch something. The brute wasn't too great either, but what he could do was decent, just like his own technique. "Rises good, fish jump up, can catch like bear." He spoke of the ledge sometimes in rivers, a little drop that fish liked to jump up when spawning. Kovu would stand on the side of these drops, waiting for a fish to leap into the air, then would snap his jaws around their body much like a bear did. It was sometimes entertaining, especially when he tried headbutting them on the opposite shore.

The man's manner of speech was odd, it seemed sort of uneducated, or if he only said all that was needed to get the message across. He turned to face the river, Rises good, fish jump up, can catch like bear Magnus nodded, he understood. "I don't really have a technique, I'm more of a sorta, hover a few inches above the water for ages, wait til the fish swim near ebnough after standing there for a while, then snap, hoping you were accurate kinda guy. Your technique sounds much better I have to say." He moved up beside the man. Watching him, he was either just trying to avoid conversation, or showing him his technique. Magnus should probably be setting off home by now, Aurora would be wondering where he was. But he was okay to spend a little time here.

Ear would swivel towards Magnus after explaining the little technique, informing Kovu that he didn't really have one, just waited till the fish swam close enough while standing there then snap and hope he caught something. He even said Kovu's sounded much better than his, it would make him inwardly laugh, of course It was better. You needed to have some brains to catch anything.

The male would go on to show his fishing, standing patiently on the small ledge, gaze staring at the water. You didn't have to wait too long for a fish to make its way over ad jump to get over the rise, and even if none tried getting up you could always chase them over but only if you were quick on your paws. They would only have to wait five minutes before a fish would make a move. Muscles would ripple beneath Kovu's skin on his shoulders, not once making a sound or any other movement. Then it leaped, and the male would react just as fast. A paw would slide down carefully so he wouldn't fall forward the same time his head lunged forward. Jaws opened wide then came snapping shut around a scaly body, head pulling back, paw pushing against the ground.

Just like that Kovu would turn to face Magnus, dropping a fish at his paws. "Like that, very easy."
