Dragging paws brought him wandering across the south lands again. This time, to a place he had never been to. Glazed aqua eyes looked about the unfamiliar grounds, trees looming over him and enveloping him in darkness. Where on earth was he? Had he been so lost in thought he wasn't paying attention to where he was walking? He stopped underneath a hanging branch of willow, it seemed not even the sun was able to penetrate through the thick foliage. The sounds of many things could be heard, unidentifiable to the male. Owls hooting, crickets chirping, frogs, rustling here and there, the dull bubble of a creek somewhere in the distance. He didn't know where he was exactly, or what he would encounter...but he wasn't sure if he even cared. If he disappeared here, who would miss him?

The male stepped over a fallen branch, ears shifting uneasily at his surroundings. Where the hell was he? Better yet, how would he get out? His trail seemed to be lost among the sounds, as if the forest itself swallowed any traces of him asides from his existence. It was spooky for him, and he was beginning to regret not paying attention to where he was going...

This placed seemed eerie still yet if you looked close enough there was life. The early morning cloaked the forest in a dense fog. The cream and white wolfess moved with precious care, dainty paws lifting clear of leaves and twigs to land soundly back down with each step. Hunger gnawed at her empty pit of a stomach. It had been a few days since she had had a decent meal. She wasn't underfed, just slim and fit. It seemed to take all day to find prey large enough to satisfy her belly, though it would be a miracle if she could take down the deer she found. She spent the rest of the waking day hour watching her meal, selecting certain ones, studying their behavior. She had to outsmart them. They knew the forest here unlike her. But like all wolves she knew how prey reacted to the chase, could predict moves right before they were made. It was a game of chess.

Foliage would suddenly rustle with alarm near the white newcomer. A nimble but hardy doe shot across his path. It' eyes wide with the whites showing, nostrils flared, tail flagged up with fear, heart drumming. The drumming matched the pace of the doe's predator. The cream and white girl was hard of the doe's trail. She moved with sharp grace, a talent to be graceful, elegant and yet deadly. The pair disappeared into the thicket with a shortly sounded crashing noise. Jaws clamped down on the windpipe of the doe, blocking it's airways to end it's life quickly. Eyes of ice and fire stared off as she tried to catch her own breath. Slowly her head lowered to set the meal down and looked around.

She wasn't sure but she could have sworn she had seen someone else or at least something back there right before she took down the deer. She glanced at the small, but stomach worthy doe before retracing just a few steps. She paused, waiting, poised to either fight or flee. Though she'd rather stick around to eat her own meal. She huffed under her breath and gave her body a full shake.

The sound of rustling brush startled the male, he felt a bit jumpy when something flashed past behind him, and he was unsure as to what it was. He whipped around, standing rigid with ears laid back and eyes wide, heart pounding against his chest. Swallowing back some of his fear, the young male slowly and carefully moved forward towards where he had heard the sound. Hackles rose slightly, unsure as to whether it would be friend or foe that he would encounter. The smell of blood reached him, putting him a little more into unease as he neared the location of the sound.

He caught sight of something beyond the bush, the male slowly approaching with caution. A scent would lead him to believe it was a female, and hopefully a kind one. He continued to approach with caution, as it seemed she too was looking to see who the stranger was. Aqua blue gaze spotted out her form, and he stopped several yards away so as not to invade her space, still unsure as to whether she was friend or foe. "A-are you lost too?" He was ashamed to admit it, but if she knew how to get out of here, he would gladly follow.
