She laid there in the cool spring afternoon under the willows. Head placed down upon forelegs whose paws were dipped in the cool water. Ice blue eyes stared into it's clear depths, ears listening to the soft rustle of the gentle willow branches. She felt closed off under this tree, its branches a screen to the rest of the world. It was here she felt she could let the lid loose on her emotions. She had found Twig again, but it meant closing off her emotions, her true self once more. All her family saw was the soft, gentle girl, the girl who had no issues, who just stood back but was always there to offer a helping paw with a smile. Tail wrapped around her body, she felt like a broken angel. With only one wing she couldn't fly. She didn't know who she really was, what she wanted in life. Only that she wished to find her other wing to fly once more. To feel free, careless, unburden by any bounds to the earth.

She loved her family, truly she did. But sometimes she wished she could run away from it all, the past and present. She never truly felt like she belonged. Only that she was there scrambling to pick up all the pieces left behind. And so would do it without a complaint. They needed someone to do it, to pull them back together once more. But would it happen all over again? Would she be there for them a second time? She couldn't give an answer to that. The yearly closed her eyes with a soft sigh, praying for guidance. She needed someone to be her saving grace. But if they came would she realize it too late? Push them away? More than likely she would. She could only focus on her family problems. She had no time for fun, for love or adventure. No, she had to be there for all her brothers and sisters.

She must have fallen asleep for abit because when her eyes opened once more it was late afternoon, almost evening. Where was Twig? She should be back soon right? She sat up with a yawn and looked around. If she wasn't back by sunset, shed go look for her.

He was getting closer. Something was telling him that he was getting closer to finding his siblings. He wasn't sure what it was exactly, but something was spurring him forward, urging him to come to his particular spot. He had caught the scent of a wolf, a young female by what he could tell, but it didn't smell the least bit familiar to it. But still he wanted to find this young girl because something was telling him that he had to.

The ghostly titan would weave his way through the willows that grew in the area, mindful of the limbs that protruded from the ground, ready to trip any unsuspecting passerby. His pace would be slow, steady, an even walk as he maneuvered through the trees, mismatched gaze searching for the figure of the young she-wolf he had scented when he'd arrived in the area. Even with the approaching darkness, the titan didn't find it hard to pick his way along, his eyes adjusting to the low light. And that's when he spotted her. An ivory coat like his, her own distinctive dark markings that were similar in coloration to his own. And as he moved closer he saw it; the cross on her left shoulder. Just like his adopted mother had told them they would wear. It was different in shape to his, but it was still a cross. Pulsus would move quietly towards her, stopping at a distance as he watched her in awe, trying to get himself to believe that he had really found another Black family member. Could she really be related to him? Or had someone somehow figured out a way to replicate his family's crest and pose as one of his kin?

She had gone off earlier in the day, not wanting to leave Angel but knowing she still had to go. They needed food, and she was still searching for her other siblings. She was unsure if Madieke had wanted to come with her or not, but she had left while the girl was sleeping. She had planned to be back before she awoke, but had found an interesting scent. She could have sworn the aroma was one of her own siblings, but it was so much different to the ones she had grown up with.
She had found the scent and she would follow it, strangely right back to their camp. Twig would become alarmed as she realized the male would be headed straight for her sister. A growl would bubble up within her chest as she picked up her pace, determined to never let any harm befall her younger sibling. Her sweet sister who cared for her family so well. Her slate colored paws would bring her to the man, she would come from behind him as he watched her younger sister. A growl would bubble up from her chest as she made herself seem more confident than she was.
He quite obviously towered over her, but she paid his height no mind. She had to protect the only sister she had found, and she would protect her always with her life if it was needed. "What are you doing here stranger?" Her voice would prject much bigger than her form as she confronted the beast.

She must have been out of it to not notice another staring at her. She was so unaware of the giant male just a few feet away from her. All she could think about was if Twig was okay. Brows furrowed together and she was just about to get and turn away from the water when she heard a threatening growl. She whipped around to first see a mammoth of a male and her sister behind him. And though she should have felt threatened by the sudden appearance of the male she wasn't. Her ice blue orbs were fixed on the cross on his shoulder. Slowly her eyes lifted to look at him in the face. He wasn't any brother she knew, but the cross and they color of him fit all to well into Twig and her family. She glanced at Twig before ever so slowly moving towards the male.

Something told her he would hurt her. Calmly she would approach with her heavenly grace till she was no more than a foot away from him. Eyes narrowed in thought, head tilting. Nostrils flared to take deep breaths of his scent. Something in it hinted at a hidden secret.Twig..he has a cross..She whispered out softly with a quick glance to her older sister. She knew better than to keep her attention off a stranger for no more than a mere second. He could easily crush her, she could only hope speed was on her side should she need to flee. She could not help but feel like he was familiar to her, a sense of bonding that should have linked them together. And yet she didn't know him, had never seen nor scent him before. It was confusing to the yearling at the very least.Who are you? Why are you blessed with the scare mark of a cross like me and my sister? She mused aloud. Maybe he had answers, maybe not. But one way she would find out.

His observation of the young girl who bore his crest was interrupted as another figure suddenly appeared behind him. He would sense her presence first, hearing her paw steps long before she arrived by his side. He could hear the growl in her voice, suggesting that she was much larger than perhaps what she really was. The mammoth would remain calm, not threatened at all by the other female's presence. It would be as he began to turn, his paws barely beginning the shift that the first girl he'd spotted would finally notice him, raising herself to her paws, her identical eyes ices glued to his left shoulder. She saw the cross. And she pointed it out to the second female who went by the name of Twig. The young girl seemed to be wary of him and so Pulsus would keep his visage within her sight, not wanting to frighten her more than his intimidating size possibly already had. Who are you? Why are you blessed with the scare mark of a cross like me and my sister? Sister. This girl and the one called Twig were his siblings. They had to be. No other wolves bore the marking of the cross.

I was born with this cross. I am Pulsus, man of the Black Clan. I have come here seeking my family...other wolves that also bare the cross on their left shoulder like mine. He hoped that his honesty would quell their fears of him and that they would clue him in on whether they were his kin or not. A glance was spared back towards the girl Twig, noticing that she too bore a cross on her left shoulder, her eyes a similar shade to his amethyst one. The similarities between himself and these girls was far too close to be a coincidence.

He wouldn't move as she confronted him, his attentions of her sister who would rise as he began to look at herself. He wouldn't move, and he kept himself calm as Angel's eyes bored into his side. Madieke would look to Twig before moving even closer, "Twig..he has a cross.." Her demeanor would change completely as she realized his marking. Her eyes would widen and her tail would fall. Knees would straighten as her head moved up from her previously defensive state. Her sister would confront him as directly as she had, with much more suave than Twig had given, "Who are you? Why are you blessed with the scare mark of a cross like me and my sister?" Twig' ears would fall, and her growl would sound again as she encouraged the answer to her sister's question. He would offer it without her help however, "I was born with this cross. I am Pulsus, man of the Black Clan. I have come here seeking my family...other wolves that also bare the cross on their left shoulder like mine."
As his words left his pale jaws he would spare a glance back at Twig, and she had changed yet again. He said he was from the Black Clan, who else could he be but a relative? She couldn't explain where he came from but here he was in front of Twig and her sister. Still her eyes would narrow. What other proof did she need? To touch his marking to prove its authenticity?"Where did you come from? I've never seen you before and yet you claim to be of my family?" She was slightly scrutinizing, but she wanted to be sure he was who he said. She didn't wish to experience anymore heart ache.

She stood there, ice blues looking at the large male then her sister and back. She wasn't sure if this was possible. No story was told of a missing pup before she was born. So how could this guy be her brother when neither Twig or she knew him? Head tilted to the side, eyes narrowing. She was stumped on this on. Rear plopped down in the earth with a soft thud. Her nodded to agree with Twig's question and sat there waiting. He looked like family, he really did but how? It just didn't seem possible and yet everything she knew was being throwing a curve ball. I don't understand..how do we have a brother we never knew about? She asked before laying down to roll onto her back. Paws in the air she looked at the mammoth before her. She didn't feel threatened anymore, plus she was sure she was swift enough to get out of reach if needed. Or maybe she was just too trusting.

She tried to think of her whole family. He had their eyes, their fus colors and the cross. But why didn't she know him? What had happened? She moved her head to look at Twig, tail thumping on the ground, and paws waving, inviting her over. She wanted to ask her sister something in her ear so this guy wouldn't hear her. But she didn't want to get any closer to him than she was already.

As the younger of the two girls pointed out his cross, the girl Twig's demeanor would suddenly become different. She would loose her defensive posture, limbs straightening as her skull rose to a more normal position. Pulsus would move his body so that it would stand parallel to Twig's, allowing himself to take a step back so that he was standing between the two girls, able to keep both of them in his sights at the same time without giving his back to either one. A growl encouraged the titan to answer the younger girl but he didn't need coaxing from Twig. A flick of his elongated sooty tail would be the only sign that he acknowledged her growl. As his attention moved back to Twig, he would see the distrust clear in her amethyst eyes as she questioned whether he was really of their family or not. A glance would be spared to the young girl, watching as she made herself comfortable before he would allow himself to speak.

From what my adopted mother told, I was left to die as a pup. She didn't know who my parents were or who the rest of my family was, just that my relatives all bore the cross on their shoulder like me. I was abandoned before I got to meet any relatives, so perhaps that is why I am a stranger to you and your sister. I can tell you that I firmly believe I am kin to you, but if you aren't sure, then I can take my leave and never return. Perhaps I was wrong in my quest to search for the family I lost as a child. Solemn words would fall from the beast's lips as he spoke to Twig, turning towards the younger girl to make sure that she had heard him too. There was no way that they weren't relatives...but if they truly weren't, then he would leave. There was no point in staying when his family wasn't here.

Angel would sit as Twig's words left her mouth, her demeanor quite as drastically changed as her own. She had been worried about this stranger, his uncanny resemblance to the family however was surprising. "I don't understand..how do we have a brother we never knew about?" Madieke would finish Twig's question, how did they have a relative they never knew before. She wasn't even sure he was their brother, he could have been some random cousin or uncle really. "From what my adopted mother told, I was left to die as a pup. Perhaps I was wrong in my quest to search for the family I lost as a child." He seemed so sad, like he was about to be completely defeated before them. Angel would gently wave her forward, Twig's eyebrow would raise in question as she skirted around the man who claimed to be their family.
She would sit next to Madi's comfortable form as her orchid gaze lay upon the man, Pulsus. Her head would cock slightly to the right as she looked him over. He seemed so sincere, and the cross was plain as day upon his coat. "I certainly don't think you need to leave. I.. I think that I believe you. You have to be who you say you are. Though, I guess we'll never know exactly." She would look into his bicolored gaze hopefully, becoming decidedly glad about finding a... brother who had always been lost. "Can we..." she would hesitate slightly, "May we call you our brother?"
