Rise Above This - Seether
Newol |
The thoughts of the past few days weighed heavily on Newol's mind. All of the power struggles that where going on, meeting all the new people. What had been the warm and welcoming place he had first arrived in was now littered with chaos. It was times like this that made him so very very happy to be a loner. Though, because of his nature, he had many friends who where in packs. So even though he was not directly affected by the drama of the packs, he still felt the ripples. Valhalla's destruction was probably the hardest part, especially because of his dear friend Erani. She had taken a likeing to the brute and he was thankful. It was nice to have a wise friend older then himself. It had been so long sense he'd had a motherly figure in his life. Especially sense he could remember his birth mother. She'd had her reasons for what she'd done though. She'd been right in telling him to run from that desert as long and fast and hard as he could before it could swallow him. If he hadn't as such a young lad, he wouldn't be where he was, and he wouldn't be the creature he was. Erani knew that story. And he supposed that maybe that's why she was fond of him. Erani was a tough old girl too. The healer had taken it upon herself to rebuild Valhalla. And some how or another, Newol had gotten himself sucked into it all. And on top of that, he now had a female that had caught him in her sway! But for right now, the brown pelted male needed a break, needed some time for just him. He'd been on the move sense before the sun had risen about the hills, and he made his way north. He'd only been north once before, when he'd met that crimson she wolf who'd dazzled him. Maybe he'd see her again some time. But for now he made his way along with nothing in his mind but the face of a certain white furred female from one of the packs that he'd met and a triumphant tune. It didn't take him long after reaching the snowy ground to find the mountains and start climbing. He didn't know what he'd find or where he was going, he just knew that he was making his way along and exploring. Something he hadn't done in awhile. It wasn't easy climbing the mountain, at least not from his approach as he purposely skipped the trail and worked straight up the side. But that was the point. He was using the strain of exercise to drive all the annoying little worries of the big picture out of his mind. Finally, reaching the top of the small mountain, he saw that it bowled with the surrounding land and formed bowl that was filled with a large lack that had at one point been dry land as there where a few trees sticking out of the top of the water. Walking up to edge of the lake, he dare not go in, knowing with the cold wind and snow that the water would be deadly cold. However, he did find this a nice place to enjoy the sun setting in the horizon, with its amazingly clear view of the sky. As the wolf settled into a sitting position, bringing his tail to rest on top of his front paws, wind running through his pelt as he turned up to the sky with a pleasant smile on his face. As the gorgeous oranges and pinks danced across the sky he was sure now. Yes. All the noise would settle down. And this place will once again be a nice quiet and calm place to live and be again. |
