Rane trotted into the steep hillside, and brought his maw down to the small pool beside him. Droplets fell from his jaw as he looked up to the sky. It was a beautiful red-orange, dotted with pure snow white clouds. He sat down for a rest in the heat. He was running for, how long now? The night he remembered in his memories were crystal. The air became cloudy with ash, the trees fell one by one, burning the dry grass below them. The land became barren, the pack became forgotten. Loki, Milo, Aspen, and Dawn made it out okay, but the rest of the wolves, he didn't want to find out. One problem remained. Where were they now? It seemed only hours since the incident, but was really only seven days. Should I give up now? He thought, what if I die here not knowing if they survived? That is my worst fear. Silhouettes of Spruce trees grew longer as the night grew. Scents of other wolves drifted through the forest, and the pounding of the falling water became more prominent. He lifted his head in shock. What if I'm sitting on owned land? He got up slowly, but his thoughts came to him slower. Something about Ludicael, and a nearby pack? Maybe this was his chance to start over!? But what if these wolves don't appreciate loners on their land? Well for one thing, I wouldn't. He paced to and fro. If he had to put up a fight he wouldn't hesitate. But first, he would be interested if they were looking for someone. But why would a random wolf come here of all places and accept him just like that? He paced again and again, this time faster. The scent was drifting from the western part of where he was standing now, what if he announced himself there? Could he? He ran and slipped at the same time down the rocky hillside, jumping into shallow pools. No, I'll stay here. If they were really real, then wouldn't he meet them in the future perhaps? It dawned on him, maybe his assumptions were wrong, and there was no pack here? Oh well, I guess I'll find out. The sky became dark as he curled into a ball, tucked his tail in and closed his eyes.

The pale she wolf would walk the borders delicately, her alabaster paws carrying her almost silently through her territory. The bicolored gaze that was flaunted on her pristine features would seek out any clue that her homeland had been invaded. What she would find would be the very fresh tracks and scent of a wolf. She would leave the tracks for a moment, her blue and gold eye tracking the forming storm clouds within the sky. She would want to be back in her den before they hit, but first she had a trespasser to deal with. Her mind would certainly not jump to conclusions as she followed his tracks, it was very likely this loner sought the protection her pack could provide.
Sure footedly the Oracle would find her way to the curled body of a male. He seemed to have curled up to find sleep, but she couldn't let him find rest in the mud. She would keep her distance but her sweet lyrics would find their way into the air, directed to him. "Sir!", she would hope to wake him,?"Do you need help? Do you know where you are?", She would look on curiously, wondering what had brought him beyond the borders and into her home unannounced.?

Rane woke calmly to melodic voice. He got up eagerly to meet a beautiful white delicate she wolf with eyes both of different color. Remembering his manners, he bowed straight away, not wanting to make a bad impression on possibly the wolf he was looking for. "I am Rane, loner. I was wondering if you could tell me if there was a nearby pack by the name of "Ludicael"? If so, could you point me in their direction?" Hopefully he sounded formal enough. The thought that this was the wolf he sought out took up most of his mind, but in the back of his head the possibility of the wolf being a loner was far away, but he kept his distance, just to be sure. What if the wolf before him was the one he was looking for? For good measure he added: "I get the feeling your from Ludicael, correct me if I'm wrong," and awaited the reply of the pretty wolf patiently.

As her voice reached his ears the man would quickly push himself from the earth, his upright form twisting into a bow before her. The heavily pregnant she wolf would feel a bit lighter as she observed his normal movements. At least he was not hurt that she could see. He would introduce himself, and as she had scented he was not from another pack, as he continued it would be so revealed that he was searching for her all along. Her mismatched eyes would widen slightly as the words were recognized. Song would not be able to allow him her information before he added onto the first of his statements. He would ask if she herself were of the pack that eluded him. Bubbly laughter would permeate her alabaster muzzle, it was humorous that he would be standing on her very well marked territory and not realize he was within another's claimed land.
With a kindly look in her eyes the oracle would gently recline onto her pure haunches, becoming a bit more comfortable in his presence. Her head would rise proudly over gently curving shoulders. As she Let a breath in from her quiet giggling she would address him properly, "You have certainly found your way to Ludicael. You currently stand within my borders to be honest. I am Song Destruction, Oracle to the gods and alpha of these lands." she would keep the curiosity of why he hadn't howled from the borders and that she thought his nose was broken to herself as she watched him a bit more carefully.?"How is it you came to know of us? And why are you looking?" she would be slightly more suspicious of him before his motives were known, but still she would smile kindly and wait to pass judgement.?

Looking at the laughing wolf made him blush a little, but he soon resigned to his formal state. "What a beautiful name, Song. As for my reasoning, I am only a mere wolf of lands beyond these. My only wish is to join your pack by the name of Lucidael. What luck I have to be found by the Oracle of these beautiful lands; the word of this pack has been spread through the loners of the forests. I thought since my last pack burned in a horrible forest fire, you would hear my reasonings. Please allow me to enter your pack as a member." He replied to the fae's reasonable question. Delicate paws trodden on dark earth, imprinting paw prints on the soil. Rane moved his way out of the cold bare stone to the warm welcoming dirt that lay before him. He was beware of Song's relaxed tone, so he decided to let his haunches roll as he sat down on the warm soil. A tassel of fur moved slightly as he sighed and let his tail wrap around two grey paws. Song seemed nice, but he still pondered on who the other wolves of Lucidael were. What position if I get accepted would I take? What if I don't get accepted? What would I do then? Realizing he was thinking too hard, he let his gaze stray to the falls behind Song. This land, as he spoke earlier, was indeed beautiful. If he did get accepted, he would be ecstatic. Only the word this fae spoke next would determine. Looking back to the ivory wolf, he awaited her answer patiently.

She was far enough along in her pregnancy that she knew she was expecting, but it wasn't completely obvious to those not closest to her. She would keep the secret a bit longer, but that's all she could hold out for. Until then she expected to be able to complete her duties as she always had, and that included accepting new members like Rane. The wolf would explain he had heard of this place by word of mouth, something Song had to figure would happen with two of her daughters missing. She wondered how the two yearlings were doing out on their own, but she couldn't think on them too much because she still needed to place Rane into the pack appropriately. She wondered what skills he had aquired throughout his life, but the mattered little since the school wished to teach all. I'll place you as an apprentice. Your regular duties will be which ever art you feel yourself called to; hunting, self-defense, healing, or the pursuit of the gods. You should attend as many lessons as you can, but at the least two a season. If you have any questions I can answer them as we go on a tour, unless you have any now?" she would calmly await his response as she picked her body from the earth and readied herself to show him around.?

Rane dipped his head deeply when he heard the words of acceptance slip out of her maw. Excitement coursed through him, and not being able to resist, throwing a few thumps of his tail to his foot beside him. It was then, he realized, that the fae had an abnormal stomach size. Ahh, she's pregnant? Feeling rather stupid as he should have realized this sooner. His ears twitched as she spoke the last few sentences. "Thank you, Song. Along the lines of questions, well only two, if that's okay. Err, what is a 'God Pursuer'?" He asked cooly. Trotting nimbly alongside Song, he let his tail hang loosely, lightly brushing his foot. "And, um, how do I receive a mentor? The summer heat followed them as he waddled into his mind to find more questions that often hid from him. Keeping his pace slow, he watched Lucidael's landscape slowly change as he followed merrily along.

He would follow obediently, his gait matching her own as alabaster paws carried the Oracle back towards the territory. He would simply voice his questions as he followed closely as her form took them farther into the territory. It was unexpected that he had no knowledge of the gods, she would give him a curious glance before he continued on to ask for a mentor. She would smile before answering, "Lessons will be called together by the pack's Philosophers. You could ask any of them to be a personal mentor, each one specializes in a different art. Theology would be the study of gods, a pursuit in the knowledge of the divine." her paws would continue her forward, wondering how he had heard of Ludicael yet not of the gods who brought her there. She was sure there were many who did not believe, but had he no previous knowledge of them at all? She would enjoy having this man in her pack, his future here would create in her quite the curiosity.?
