An eerie stillness settled around her in the dusk, her ivory form contrasting the surrounding shadow, as if she were a pillar of light. Amethyst eyes surveyed the land before her, contemplating each placing of each paw. She moved with high regard for herself, head held high, tail raised in a flag of pride. She was a queen after all, she would look the part- and no less. The sun had settled to the west of her, casting its amber hues into the shadows that surrounded her. Her paws carried her to the shadows of the trees, and through their vast tunnels, carried her to the brim of a lake. Slowly, she would lower her head to the water, her muzzle kissing the surface delicately as she drank. The smell of serpents was ripe here, setting her on edge as she carefully watched out for the creatures. Her eyes settled on the water for a moment, admiring the reflection of the stars above her in the murky water before she would step back, moving away from the reflective surface.

It was as if the dreary landscape had summoned her, and she wondered what secrets and life it held. She could hear the call of a buck in the distance, and though her head lifted towards the sound, she showed no interest in the prey. Her nose told her that another was in the area, and she scanned the valley around her expectantly, hoping her eyes would seek out the one whom she shared the area with. She stood where she was, her head turning carefully about her, wondering just where this stranger lurked, though she would not beckon him forward, yet.

"The Lord said "go to the devil"

So I ran to the devil

Apparently lurking was his thing. He didn't go out of his way to hide from others, it just kind of happened. Such was the situation he found himself in once more. Some distance away, a wolf meandered. The figure was white, but at this distance that's all he could make out. The wolf moved towards him and as he or she got closer, the brute's senses began to piece together clues about the nature of the stranger. Whoever it was appeared confident. Their movements were fluid and deliberate, and Angel decided that this wolf meant something to someone. He or she was probably a pack wolf of good standing, although this meant little to the hidden brute. He didn't do the "pack thing" any longer.

The wolf, a female, moved nearer to him and began to drink from the lake. His gaze unobtrusive, Angelus simply watched. He had no real motive for doing so, observing was just his natural state and he was loath to break pattern. Laying in the shadows of an unruly bush, only his eyes were visible as the light of the moon hit them just right. The rest of him was hidden in darkness, but if she were to look over, the glittery blue of his eyes would surely give away his position. No more than fifteen paces separated the two wolves.

Finished with the lake, the fae backed up a few paces and looked around, her gaze flitting from thing to thing with an intensity that meant his presence wasn't entirely unnoticed. Whether it was intuition or scent that alerted her, he didn't know, but her searching wasn't enough to draw him forth. He would wait and see what happened, see if this lofty figure would dismiss her suspicion or find him.

ooc: OMG I FOUND IT. this took forever. .___.

She wasn't alone. She wasn't foolish enough to think that she had imagined the presence of another. No, she definitely wasn't alone. She stood, rooted in the spot as she looked about her, taking in a deep breath- she mentally noted what she cold. Male. Unaffiliated with a pack. From her past experiences, that didn't bode well, but she would remain calm. "I know you're there, so tell me. Friend or foe?" She would inquire lightly, her tone smooth. She had no reason to be hostile to the stranger, after all- he had done nothing. She sat back on her haunches, relaxing- clearly inviting to come forward with her body posture. "Why don't you make yourself visible?" She'd call into the darkness, after all it was only fair that she was able to see him- as he could see her. The queen lazily glanced around, her ears turning as she listened, trying to catch any sound that might betray his movements- his intentions.

The last time she had been in this sort of position with another male, she had been defiled because she had failed to defend herself properly. That wouldn't happen again, though the dark thoughts of it still tickled the back of her mind. What if she screwed up again? What if she made the same disastrous mistakes? She mentally shook her head- that wouldn't happen again. What were the odds that she'd encounter two dark monsters in such a short period of time. No- this strange wolf would most likely be friendly, or at least not blatantly hostile- she would hope.

But the Lord said "go to the Devil"

So I ran to the Devil

She called into the darkness, asking his intentions, and for a moment, Angelus was silent. What were his intentions? What did he hope to gain by remaining hidden? The answer was nothing. He had no intentions and he had nothing to gain. The brute had simply found himself in the position to be a silent witness. He meant her no harm; meant her no goodwill either, but she wasn't in need of anything so that didn't matter much.

Finally, Angel slipped out of the shadows. His movements were silent and natural, and he moved without any real thought as to how he was doing it. Many gifts had passed him over, but stealth was the one thing he'd been given and he used it now with ease.

He didn't move far, moving forward only enough so that she could see him. This was for both their benefit. It allowed him--both of them, really--a safe distance and evened things out. Sure, were he darker-natured he'd have just given up his one advantage, but he wasn't, so the lose barely registered. "Neither. Though I could very well be either should it strike one of us right."

His gaze stayed steadily on her face. By now he was familiar with her form; he didn't need to investigate further. It was entirely up to her what he became to her, friend or foe. He was largely neutral, although he wasn't one to flee should she take offense to being watched.
