stepping stones to a throne

or are we just a stepping stone back to the throne? The brute sat near the edge of the cliff, a clear blue moon kissing the earth. Clear aqua irises reflected the moon light as he gazed up at the moon. Dark paws pushed aside the wild flowers as he lay amongst the moonlit greenery, his tail thumping contently against the ground. Below, the crashes of water sounded, and the salty breeze wafted up to his nose. His dark nose inhaled, as the brute' stinky lips moved in a rhythmic way, Solitude, so peaceful and quiet for once. Away from those ever-arguing packs. A sigh poured from the wolf's maw, unintentionally as he lifted his head up, the breeze catching his fur and ever so slightly twisting it into knots and tangles. The peace was immediate, as he closed his eyes, looking at the stars, and laid down for a rest amongst the flourishing verde world here. Below, the water created a rhythm of songs, and the wind echoed through his ears. Life was good, but there was to be a visitor in the mist. ooc; this is a thread w/ the lovely Dione and her character, Viridiana. |

It was late but the moon was hanging lazily in the sky, swollen to its fullest size and casting a hazy beam into the depths of the den she had dug out with her brother for her children. It was for her children. Maybe in the winter seasons she would expand it to accommodate herself and them but for now each night she gathered them up, shooed them inside then sprawled across the entry way to watch them closely. They were growing up so fast, to the point where a close eye was always needed else they wander away. And that usually left her with the gut feeling of wanting to break the legs of those who had left. Hestia and Fiamette had been the biggest trouble makers so far and it was them that lantern eyes would focus in on. But as time continued to tick on she came to realize that maybe for once the little terrors were actually asleep and she could relax. But she was so used to staying awake most of the night to keep a watchful eye on her children that she really wasn't very tired.
Long legs would unfurl, forepaws pressing against the cool stone of the hot springs to lift herself into a seated position. Flanks would flip over and then hind legs would lift her into a standing position. Head lowered to take another look in at her children before turning and setting off. Maybe one of them would wander out and drown while she was gone... Wishful thinking... Her paws carried her expertly through the hot springs and eventually to Ludicael's boarders and beyond. The russet vixen really had no idea where she was going but it seemed like no time as all before the land started sloping upwards and the scent of another drifted towards her on the sea breeze. Words. She heard words and a smile would slither across dark stained lips. "Since the war everything has been fairly quiet thankfully... Or do you know something I don't dear?" Words would slip tantalizing off expert tongue as she slow her approach and stopped a short distance from him. She hadn't met him before... Was he new here?

or are we just a stepping stone back to the throne? As the vixen's rhythmic words poured from her lips, the brute's wide shoulders buckled as he stood, his clear aqua irises shimmering from the reflections of the moon. Seeing the sight of the russet dame caused the brute to only bow in respect. She smelled of one of the packs, but which one? Perhaps Ludicael or Seracia. The vixen smelled of both places. Should I be afraid to say no, ma'am? I believe I know nothing of the pack life, unlike you, Lucicaelian, Seracian- or whatever they may call you. You smell of both packs, so if you'd tell me your name, ma'am, I will see what I can expose to you. The brute's blue eyes flickered as he gave a small snicker and returned to staring at the moon. If you'd like to know, I am Ouranos, but you can call me a nickname if you'd like. He relaxed his shoulders more as he lie down, his tail gently thumping amongst the grasses, almost shrinking into the wildflowers. ooc; too lazy to make a manip table. XP |

His bow brought a mixture of emotions to the red woman. Brow would raise as words tumbled from his mouth and for a moment she would arch her neck to sample her own scent. Seracia? She had been there one to scout it's boarders a few weeks back but nothing recent. Had Kylar or Desiree gone their and their scent had rubbed off on her? Eyes would narrow slightly, eyeing him almost cautiously as she took a step back. Who was he and what did he know? "Viridiana... Viridiana Sovari..." She said slowly, not bothering to give the nickname she usually granted newcomers. She would let him stumble over her mouthful of a name the goddess had labeled her with. As he gave his name she would nod slowly but other then that took a moment to respond. "Well Ouranos if you must know. I am Ludicaelian and nothing more. I visit other pack regularly on my queens command though, the kingdom of Seracia most recently it would seem." She said, putting a strange emphasis on his name. Her tones were sure and easy, nothing to give away that her words were in fact a blatant lie. |
