The high winds howled around him, the heat bearing down. Even for the near end of the Autumnal season, the Desert was still unforgiving. Parched and dehydrated, the young prince dragged his small body across the heated sands, crimson eyes seeking out a place of relief. A shelter where he could hide himself from the heat. Glancing behind him, his footprints had been swept away by the wind and sand, the sun beating down mercilessly upon him as the distance from where he traveled grew. He would not be turning back, no matter how much he wanted to. The life he once knew would be but a distant memory now, there was no turning back even if he wanted to else he forfeit his life.

It seemed as if his path was never ending. The more he walked, the more he began to lose hope. He had no clue where he was, nor if he would ever get out of this forsaken desert. At last, he would stop. Tail dragging on the ground, ears flattened to his head. Gazing around, he could see nothing but sand and sky for miles..."I'm going to die out here...how ironic is that..." He would begin to feel hopeless, tears fighting to pour yet he would hold them back. He would not die out here without trying to live. A shadow flickered overhead, catching his attention on the ground. Glancing towards the sky, he could see the silhouette of something against the sun, and soon others followed. They would circle him, at first he didn't see them as a threat, but the more the followed and the lower they came, the more he could see how much larger they were. His hackles rose, ears flattening against his crown as his tail tucked. The vultures were starting to get bold, eyeing him like a piece of prey. He quickened his pace, the vultures screaming at him overhead.

All of a sudden, he would feel a sharp pain on his back. Fur and a small piece of flesh torn as a vulture dove at him. One by one, they would begin to attack him, and a yelp would send him into a frenzied run. He raced across the sands, ducking his head as they dove at him, intent on making him their prey. Panicked, he would search around. Hoping for something, anything that would help him. And it was as if by some miracle, he would see the figure of what looked like a palm tree just over the dunes. Pushing himself faster, he would race towards it. Praying it wasn't some cruel trick of a mirage. He dodged and rolled from his attackers, though was still unlucky enough to receive scratches and bites from the monstrous birds. The trees would loom overhead now, a gasp of relief escaping his lips as he rushed into the oasis. A small pool of water lied in the middle of a few scattered palms and bushes, and without stopping he would dive straight towards the water. Not only was it a relief to him from the heat, but the vultures would sound their frustrations as the Fox remained in the safety of the water. When the shadows fell away after several long moments, his head would break the surface. A large intake of air filled his lungs, and he would then return to the shore. There he collapsed in the shallows, chest heaving and eyelids heavy. He was exhausted, hungry, and lost. Within moments, he would find himself in an uneasy nap.

Lost again... Lost. Forever lost? The brute?s paws wandered over the dry, hot sands of the desert, faded blue orbs glancing around with worry. Sand and sky... Sky and sand... Where was he? What was this place? He had never known such a hot, dry place in all of his life. Not that he could remember anyway. The brute?s dark coat hardly helped in this heat, and tongue lolled out of his mouth as he pressed onward, a whine leaving him every so often. He was getting tired... And the sun was relentless.

In the distance, suddenly, he could make out shapes in the sky. They were gradually getting lower and lower... Birds? The brute would lower his ears back, frowning. They seemed to be... Hunting. Food... Food sounded good he supposed. So white paws would carry him off. Kyda had no knowledge of what these birds truly were, or that their hunt for food was actually just picking off a creature weak from the heat.

It was only be luck of following in that direction he made it to the oasis. His paws were pretty much dragging by then, and those vultures had begun to circle him as well, fed up with the fact they lost their earlier prey. At first he didn?t even see the small fox when he walked into the shade, dropping down and face planting into the water as he sucked it down. Head would pull back, the cool liquid dripping from his face. He would turn then, looking around, and that was when he saw the other tired creature. He?d move towards him, giving a nudge to the creature.

>>He heard screaming, maniacal laughter, the tang of blood strong in his nostrils. The curdled screams of those he knew, and those he once knew. Though the faces remained blurred, the fleeing creatures always remained out of his grasp. Intangible, unable to be heard and completely invisible. Did they not know he was here? "Hey! What's going on?!" He would call out to a passing fox, but it did not stop. Instead, sweeping past him. Dart's crimson eyes followed him, about to give chase when the other male stopped and skidded to a halt. Before him, an incredibly large demon, no. A wolf, stood in his way. Teeth flashed, and before the other male could flee, he had been caught in the locks of wolves teeth. The sickening crunch of his spine was heard before he fell limp, Dart staring in horror. Bile rose in his throat, but he would swallow it back as the wolf would notice him there. Terrified, Dart would turn around and run, the blurred bodies sweeping past him and all around him, the screaming of adults and children alike filling the air as the monstrous howling tried to override them. What was happening? He would fall, body tripping over another as he tumbled down in a heap. Casting a glance back, he would see the face of one of his sisters. Her eyes wide with terror. He made to ask her a question, but her words would cut him off first. "It's too late, you must run and don't look back! He has brought evil to our lands, darkness and chaos are everywhere...he's destroyed us all...Run, brother. It's too late for us...Find our path, but don't look back." "Wh-what are you talking about? I can still save you! Please, you have to hold on!" He would cry out for her, begging...pleading...but to no avail. Her form was fading, all around him bodies fell and dissipated into the earth. The ringing howls of wolves everywhere, in his ears, his head...

"Ah..!!" Head would jerk up, eyes opening with wide eyed terror when something touched him, a voice within his ears. Eyes focused on a form, but it was not a fox. Scrambling back, sand shifted under his paws as he looked wildly around for signs of blood and terror, chest heaving. Tail puffed out to the max as his fur stood on end. Before him, stood a creature though he was not sure what it was. He had never seen a wolf before. He stood there for several moments, trying to gather himself together before he comprehended what he had heard...or, what he thought he heard. Swallowing back the fear that sat within him, he shook away the tears that were forming. "Wh-where am I?" Those seemed to be the only words that had managed to spill from his lips. The boy still shaken up about his dream.

The small red creature would call out and Kyda would jump back, letting out a gasp of alarm as well. He had been startled by the suddenness of the other lifting his head, ears lowering back as his heart pounded in his chest. The other had scrambled up, looking around with wide eyes, searching for something it seemed, but all that was here was Kyda, and the gray wolf was trying to calm his quickened breathing. The fox was certainly shaken up, and finally a question would fall from his lips. The gray wolf settled down, looking around as he tried to come up with an answer.

?Sure not this I?m what individually called place is... Land but the part it whole of is Alacritia called is.? The male wolf would look back to the fox now, frowning deeply as he tilted his head to the side. ?Glad okay you?re am I. Kyda I?m, you who are?? The male wolf would start to wag his tail a bit, faded blue eyes shining just a bit as he looked down at the other creature. For Kyda it didn?t really matter where he was... He always managed to get through things somehow.
