He was away from home, clearing his mind. He had reunited with Emily... And he was wondering what to do. He could not bear the thought of her living alone in the territories, even those just outside Valhalla. He could visit her often... But his duty was still to take care of his responsibilities in Valhalla as well. His mind was working, turning, trying to come up with a solution. He would think of their allies, of the Olympian Natalya. She was a friend... And he wondered if she might perhaps consider having Emily taken into her pack. They would still be able to see each other then... And Emily would be safer... And be able to be productive as well.

If only Valhalla wasn?t so full. The male would give a soft sigh, trudging through the waters of the Avian Estruary quietly. For now he had her waiting in the ravine... It seemed to be more protected than other areas of Alacritia he could think of at the moment. At least that was still somewhat close to Valhalla. But she couldn?t stay there forever... And the need to discover a solution was weighing upon his shoulders heavily. Perhaps he needed a distraction for just a short while... Let his head clear... So he could make the decision a little easier... Or maybe have someone to ask advice from. Maybe when he returned he could speak with Erani.

i used to think when you were gone

{i'd still hear voices in these halls}

The petite brown wolfess wandered with no particular destination in mind. Her tail waved easily in the air as she padded along, amber eyes drifting half shut as she inhaled the scents of the peaceful air. Autumn's cool breeze stirred her fur, earning a shiver from the figure. She had always been a summer wolf, drawn to the warmth and heat, and though the first touches of autumn reminded her of her favored aunt, she didn't enjoy the ending of autumn. The cold harshness of winter was fast approaching and the Kalendae was tempted to turn and bolt towards the southernmost extremes of this land to return only when the warmth of spring once again touched these expanses.

It was only when the scent of another reached her nostrils that June stirred from her wandering thoughts of warmth. She took a sharp breath, panic stirring in her veins as her gaze settled upon a male wolf, but June calmed herself as quickly as she could, ears pricking in the other's direction. She cleared her throat softly to draw attention to her presence, before falling silent to allow the other to leave or approach as he saw fit. She wouldn't force her company on him, but if he chose to come near her, June wasn't sure she'd mind. He didn't look like a murderer or anything. Then again, murderers didn't really look like anything particular and oh, there was no point in worrying about it, not really. She was sure he was a fine, upstanding member of society.

no, you're never really dead to mejune kalendae

The sound of someone clearing their throat, trying to gain his attention, would be what drew Arwel out of his thoughts for the moment. Head would lift, cerulean eyes seeking out the source of the sound. Finally they would come to rest upon a fae. He would decide to approach her, keeping his movements casual and calm before coming to a stop not far from her own form. He would tip his head, a smile on his face. It was slightly forced, as his worried thoughts of Emily still clung to his brain, but he was still trying to be friendly.

He would dip his head, softly speaking as he addressed her. ?Hello miss. Lovely day, isn?t it?? It sounded odd saying that greeting now... Maybe it was just him. A distracted mind certainly didn?t help any. He would breath in her scent, seeing that she wasn?t yet part of a pack. ?Are you new to Alacritis...?? He realized that he didn?t know her name yet, and rather than jump to it and give her his, he?d wait and give her a chance to respond.

Ears twitching, June watched with wide eyes as the male approached, drawing casually closer. He seemed more relax than she was, with her muscles bunching slightly to prepare herself to flee. When the male made no sudden movements, however, June relaxed just slightly, amber gaze wandering to trace his form with a ginger curiosity. He didn't seem too intimidating, and he'd stopped far enough away that June wasn't too worried about him. If he'd drawn too close to her personal space, she probably would have panicked, fleeing back as quickly as she'd come, but instead she settled to wait and see what he would do.

The first thing that the stranger spoke was met by a nod on June's part, a simple agreement with the fact that it was a nice day. Nice enough for autumn, anyways, but who was June to complain. Autumn was her third favorite season. Ears twitching, June hesitated a moment before answering the second question - she could have just nodded, but would that be rude? June wasn't an expert on interacting with wolves other than her siblings. "I'm pretty new." A little bit more than a few days, but less than a season. Not very particular, which was why June didn't elaborate further. "Are you?" Ears pricking his way, June lapsed into silence one more, hesitant to say any more than she had to.

What had she signed herself up for? June wasn't totally sure. She'd never thought further than finding her siblings again, and though she had found August, July was still missing. Wherever he was, she missed him. June's tail curled anxiously, and the brown female turned her gaze upon the male again, hoping that he would distract her from the turn that her thoughts had taken. Obsessing over July's absence wouldn't bring him back any sooner.

Her gaze... How her eyes widened as he approached her. Arwel would shift, looking a bit uneasy for a moment. Was she afraid? But what was there to be afraid of? He wasn?t going to hurt her. She was tense too, as if she was ready to flee at a moment?s notice. But Kar was not a man who she needed to fear, to get away from. He was a much more gentle soul than most might realize. His own past, getting hurt as he had, and then seeing the same fate befall the pack that Emily had been in, was what drove him to be much more respectful of life, even in the case of dealing with an enemy. She would settle down, however, once she noticed that he wasn?t as threatening as she may have thought.

So she was new to Alacritis. Her coat still held some foreign scents... But over time, should she remain here, that would definitely change. As the question would change, being turned around on himself, Arwel would shake his head, a small smile on his lips. ?No, not quite. I?ve been here in Alacritia for about two seasons now. I guess that could still be considered a bit new, but, well, Alacritia feels like home now... As if I?ve always been here.? Though that was hardly the case. At night sometimes dreams of the past would haunt him, forever reminding him of where he once came from.

?I actually joined a pack not long after I came here, surprisingly running into my sister. It was... Very strange at first... But fate works in mysterious ways. I couldn?t be happier now, however.? Arwel felt a bit more at ease now that he was talking to someone, even if it was over such simple things as this. ?....and what brings you to Alacritia, miss? Ahh...? Arwel would blink cerulean eyes. ?I?ve been rude... My apologies... I am Arwel... And you, miss? May I have your name?? He would ask the younger she-wolf.

Listening attentively to the male's words, June pricked her ears his way as she let his tale wash over her ears. "Do you like it?" She questioned carefully, head tilting slightly. What did a veteran wolf think of these lands? August liked them thus far, but he had hardly been there for longer than she and had joined a pack swiftly enough that it didn't seem like he was going to be doing much more exploring any time soon. If only July were there... But that train of thought was useless; wishing wasn't going to bring back her brother any time soon.

And there it was again. What was it with these wolves and joining packs? The thought of explaining herself to an Alpha filled June with anxiety. How could she expect to explain that she would be a useful member of a pack when she hardly believed that herself? No leader would want her. "Small world," June observed quietly, twitching her tail. She was used to that aspect of Alacritia. The first wolf she'd discovered here had been her brother, and from there, she hadn't met many more. Maybe Alacritia was smaller than it seemed to be. "That sounds lovely," June added a moment later, referring to the life that the stranger described. She wouldn't mind living in a pack with her brother - though hopefully July would be with them too by then.

A faint smile crossed June's features as she listened to the introduction of the other wolf. Arwel. It had a nice ring to it. "June. June Kalendae." June twitched her tail, "Nice to meet you." It was, actually, pretty nice to meet him. He didn't seem like a murderer or anything thus far, and he wasn't as intimidating as he had seemed at first glance. He was a kindly wolf, for all that she was still a little skittish feeling. But that wasn't his fault, seeing as pretty much every wolf scared her a little.

Arwel would give a nod as she asked if he liked the lands. ?I must say that I do. Alacritia has certainly become a home for me, and I enjoy the time that I spend here greatly. I have certainly found my place to call home.? He had certainly been surprised when he found Meili here... And all the more relieved when she returned to Valhalla after being missing for some time. He had been so scared that he was going to lose her forever, and was relieved to see that wasn?t the case. Twice now he had held that fear, and twice now it had been relieved when he saw her face.

?It is indeed.? Arwel would say at the mention of living in a pack sounded lovely. It was, it really was. He wouldn?t trade his life for the world, though he wished heavily that he could figure out how to incorporate Emily into it more actively. She was still living in the Ravine, away from all other... Though for now, perhaps, it might be better that she remained hiding. Hidden away from those that might hurt her... It would be clear to those who knew of his backstory with the younger fae, and how he acted around her, that Arwel was very, very protective over her.

Then the woman would introduce herself, her name flowing smoothly from her lips. June Kalendae. It sounded like a rather interesting name, and he would raise a brow with a smile forming on his lips. ?It is likewise nice to meet you as well, miss June.? He felt calm, relaxed as he talked to this femme. She reminded him of a younger Emily he supposed, and perhaps that was why he found it easy to talk with her. ?What plans do you have from here?? He would ask the loner gently. If she needed a direction to head in, should she be looking for something in particular he knew of, he could direct her.
