A Lord of Time
Quick as a snake. Calm as still water. His mother had abandoned him shortly after birth, leaving him without the necessary milk to survive. He had been lucky his father had found a surrogate mother to feed him and his sister. His father had later been killed in combat, in a death match with an evil wolf, and his sister had left him to travel with their adoptive uncle. He was completely alone as the siblings from his parent?s first litter had scattered across the world with not even a trail to follow. He was completely alone. How could they all leave him to be alone in the cruelty that was the world? From three seasons onward he had raised himself. He had taught himself to fight though still he sucked at it. These actions and thoughts are what had led Aquarius to wander through the copse that day. It was dark, probably midnight so not really a day but rather the darkness and shadows of the night. There was a new moon, blocking out any possible moonlight that would allow him to see in such perilous conditions. He would sigh as he kicked at the earth. His tail was still behind him, not moving even a heartbeat. His heart would beat on no matter how broken it might have been. Death was the only salvation he would find but he knew it was far away. He had to live on. He had to continue the Shadowfall line when his family had tailed. He had to make father proud. |
sail away, sail away to the water
He had scurried about across the woods in a bustle. He was darting from place to place following his strict training pawkour regiment. It was funny that something so physically draining could be so fun! He hadn't even notice the other white wolf lurking about and nearly ran into him. However, he managed to put the breaks on his steady run in time to stop just inches away from the wolf. He hastily backed up and looked at the wolf with guilt ridden in his eyes. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry that I almost hit you!" He was quick to apologize as he shook some of the dirt from his pure white pelt.
His cerulean blue orbs examined the man who was probably twice the young pups age. Perhaps one year at most, maybe two. He seemed nice enough but the boy didn't know whether or not he should trust him. After all it was just another lone wolf who could be evil. He had a cautious look to his face as he waited for a response to his apology.
Quick as a snake. Calm as still water. He had been so lost in thought that he had let his guard down until he caught a faintest color on the breeze. There was a flash of white approaching as he immediately stopped kicking the earth. His tail darted from side to side but the creature, a wolf, started to skid to a stop until he was only inches away from the almost man. Aquarius looked at the boy sympathetically, remembering some of his late night runs from when he was younger. They had always seemed to put him at peace. The boy rambled out an apology and the ghost stopped him. ?There is no need to apologize boy; you are just having some fun.?He would say with a small grin on his muzzle. Oh what he would give to be a pup once more. The man slowly backed up as the boy did the same, it put about five or six feet between them. His burning orange eyes, orbs that allowed him to see during the day and night, would study the boy as the boy had been studying him. ?You are quite the capable lad aren't you?? He asked as he noticed the developing muscles on the boy who was no more than six months old. A deep breathe as the phantom padded around the boy, his paws hitting the ground with soft thuds. Thud. Thud. Thud. Who would this boy grow to be? Would he be a gentle giant or a fierce midget? Would he be loyal or a constant traitor? There was something familiar about him. There was a sense of determination, an aura, surrounding the boy. He seemed dedicated to be running about with no light to support him. To do such a thing would require a wolf to know the lands well. With little light, it would be easy to trip and fall. Tripping and falling was never a good thing now was it? He thought about asking the boy for a name but decided against it because they were complete and utter strangers. ?I?m Aquarius Shadowfall, last of the Shadowfall line.? He would introduce a pang of sadness as he brought up being the last one. Sure he had siblings but they would have long since cast aside the Shadowfall name. There had been stories of his siblings hating their father and their name. There had been whispers and rumors that they had dropped the name for another though Aquarius did now know what it might have been changed to. |

The man seemed kind enough to forgive his faults as he warded it off as just the boy having fun. While normally Darrah would have interrupted to inform the man that it was actually training but the man had not been lying. It was a lot of fun to run around, regardless of how hard it was to see where he was going. The man called him a 'capable lad' and it made the small pup feel elated. "Thank you sir, I try to be capable." He said in response with a grin. The man had then introduced himself as Aquarius Shadowfall, a name the pup would save, as the man observed the boy. He himself had been observing the man and supposed it might have been a bit obvious.
"It is an honor Aquarius Shadowfall. I am Darrah Walker." The introduction was short, sweet, and to the point. Darrah had chosen not to pry on the fact that the man was the last of his name. If the man wanted to talk about it then he would.
