Elli had made a conscious decision to visit Roman and see how she was doing. She was afraid, for no good reason, about the way she had left things with her good friend. The woman found herself in the familiar north, her belly swelling slightly as she tried her best to hide it, feeling self-conscious of it as she stood on the borders of the snowy trees she once called home. The scents of her former family filled her nose and instantly she felt a sense of homesickness. It wasn't her home anymore and she needed to remember that. She would let out a steady call for the Queen of Regium and she would sit down to wait. She cleared her mind of worries, feeling like she should explain things, everything. First there was her leave if she wasn't planning on making a pack immediately. Then there was her pregnancy and lastly there was the reason she didn't have a crown on her head. In a way, she felt like she had failed but at the same time she knew that she had not.

She hadn't really had much time to think of those who had forsaken her. Her children were growing rapidly, and the five pups kept her exhausted. It wouldn't be long until they'd leave their den to be presented to the world, and she was almost eager for it. Perhaps they'd adventure in the safety of their kingdom and let her return to more of her Queenly duties. She had a few things that craved her utmost attention- like her neighbors. They had to go. She'd been resting in her den- when a familiar voice called out for her. She paused for a moment, pushing down her furious thoughts... Perhaps this could be what she needed. Elli had been ambitious, Roman could not fault her that. She pushed aside her feeling of rejection. Had the girl won her own crown? Roman pushed herself to her feet carefully, and stepped around her children. "Stay my dears. Greek will tell you a story?" She said simply, with a hard look at her companion. He nodded, and scurried up onto a rock as the pups crowded around them.

As she pushed out of her den, she could hear the beginings of his tale. "In a Kingdom far away- called Smokerealm..." As she stepped away, she smiled slightly as his voice faded into the wind. It didn't take her long for her haggard form to arrive at her border. Roman kept her face neutral as she approached, though her body stance held no aggression. Truthfully, she was too tired to argue. "It's nice to see that Winter has swallowed you whole." She said softly, as she halted at her borders. Roman inhaled slightly- no pack scent... but there was a pregnancy. Curiosity lit her gaze, "It seems Winter left you with gifts. Congratulations." She sank back, her haunches folding under her. "Gods be good- I hope you don't have five. They're energy leeches." This time her tone was a bit warmer, with a familiar tease in it.

Greek Speak -- Roman Speak

She was grateful to see her friend at the borders with a non-aggressive stance to her. She gave a small chuckle when the woman spoke her first words. The woman noticed the pregnancy almost immediately it would seem as she stated that Elli had received a gift this winter. "A gift? Yes, but a bit unexpected. It's really putting a delay in my plans too. Can't challenge for a pack when you've got a stomach to care for alas. You however... you look like you could use some herbs to help you sleep." A soft chuckle escaped her lips, glad to hear the humorous tone in her friend's voice as she spoke again. "I don't think I could handle five, Roman. I might have to leave some at your doorstep." The joke was left with another laugh of her soft, alto voice. "It's good to see you again Roman. I just came to see how you were. I hope I haven't interrupted anything too important." It was time to get down to business.

Roman chuckled. Pregnancy really did put a damper on domination and destroying other peoples shitty empires. Gods, how she knew. She brushed off Elli's comment of needing herbs with a shrug. "Lack of sleep comes with the territory. Five pups in one litter- apparently the Gods felt bad for taking my last one." She notes, her voice dry. "One of them though- will be lucky to survive to summer. I expect to wake up and find her dead." The fact leaves her jaws, as cold as she feels about it. She doesn't have the emotion left to cry anymore. The Gods have taken even that from her. They left her with ambition and drive at least, so she can scarcely complain. At Elli's joke she gave a good natured growl. "No more!" She practically cried. Gods. She couldn't imagine any more pups! She shook her head, and sighed. "The pups were listening to Greek tell a story, so I have a while before they realize I'm gone." She stood and stepped over the border. "Want to take a walk? Perhaps talking with you will give me some insight on what to do with my foolish neighbors." She spoke grimly, as she crossed the border to stand beside her former Lady and friend.

Roman seemed calmer and more in control of herself than Roman had seen her at the borders the day she left and for that fact she was grateful. Carefully Elli listened and she frowned, remembering the miscarriage. One of them was not likely to survive the summer? The healer's instincts kicked in and she offered the woman some form of help. "I could take a look at her. Perhaps it's something that can be helped." The offer was solely out of friendship. Elli had made her choice to leave Regium but at the same time she held obligations to help out her friends. She let out another laugh when the queen spoke of no more pups and kept a friendly look on her face when the regal woman noted that Greek was telling her children stories. Yes, they would be paying attention to Greek for a while. The Queen asked her to take a walk with her and she nodded, her eyes lighting up a bit. "Please, tell me all about them. I'll help to the best of my ability." A small smile hit her face. If Roman has annoying neighbors, Elli had a feeling she knew what would end up following.
