My Little Girls, You've Grown So Beautiful

A whole year old! She felt ancient even though she knew she was still a child. She woke on the first day of fall and strutted around like she was hot stuff and a full on adult. Now she was hopping around through the pools of water in the estuary, showing how much maturing she still had to do. But she didn't care, she was having fun splashing around in the water and scaring off the birds around her. She immediately stopped in her tracks though when her mother's voice called for her.

Báine quickly glanced down at herself and frowned. Her mother wouldn't like how muddy and messy she was. She hopped over to a dry spot and shook out her fur to try and get as much of the water out of her fur as she could and then quickly licked over her forepaws to clean them off before she took off to answer her mother's call. She still wasn't all that clean, but maybe it was a little better. She smiled when she spotted her mom's gray form and she ran up to her with her tail wagging. "Dia duit, mháthair!"
