A retort was on the tip of Olafur's tongue but he swallowed it the moment the woman's voice reached his ears. Almost as one the duo turned to face her and then again they turned to eye each other. Was there a problem? No, not at all, but it did give them a glimpse into how others saw them. Their bickering was as natural and as relaxed as breathing. It came effortlessly to each and neither took the needling seriously; no matter how put out Olafur acted his hurt was almost always superficial and Odysseus was just as unaffected as he appeared. Odysseus' eyes swept back to the woman with the odd, eye-catching markings that made it difficult to hold her gaze. He was reminded of the false eyes on the wings of some butterflies. "No," Odysseus rumbled, "No problem. A disagreement among friends." |
